Revell 1/24th scale Jaguar E-Type FHC: Test Shots
keyser replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Hey Kurt. No V12 until mid 71. Series 3. Longer, wider, had six or 12, dropped 6 shortly. I don't think US got any 6's. Things were boats, but Tullius made badass race cars out of them. Agree about lumpy 2+2, S1 and S2 2+2 even worse. Igor-what hump? Tires tba. They were actually fairly narrow, so section height lower because of that. 175-185. Dumflops usually. That was why steering was so direct. And they stuck. Slid nicely too. Sorry I'm all over this thread. I kinda like E's for many reasons 67 2+2 Ughh 67 FHC 2 seater -

Yep. And OTS version could then allow a LTW since they were roadster based with removable HT fixed on. 61 E OTS, normal full production version. Has chrome at base of window as well. Details for CK and Bill here https://www.legendarymotorcar.com/inventory/1961-jaguar-e-type-1745.aspx -
Well played. One of my favorite movies, and I came up mine. Doh.

Screen looks pretty good. So many fiddly things under there. Of course what worked on one won't be repeatable. Wires look nice, is there only 1 spare tire like that? Perfect tread for OEM Dumflop. Sidewall too. Brass SU dampers look nice. Dab of clear red underneath to simulate ATF leak from damper chamber. LOL. The manifolds would slowly get duller. Big orange peel on then, but I won't tell. Can't wait to see it. Dunno if you can post it under glass, it needs a glass garage not showcase. Be well. -
Yam-aha.

Fun, CK. Y'all need the joy of swapping pads or doing caliper rebuild on one of these. LMK what else ya need. Bill, that awful antenna and unchromed WSF really make it hard to tell. The upper WSF molding looks "generous", but again, need hammy hands on one. Easy enough to thin down top of WS chrome, they had moderate black seales so can cover the shaved trim if that becomes issue. The Sebring mirrors are nice to have for late 60's sport racers, but most E's had tiny chrome mirrors on doors. Useless trivia, early cars had large number delivered with medium whitewalls. Most now have BW or thin line ww. And I've never seen one with that antenna like that. Ever. Nor would I want to in 1:1 BTW CK, I can't tell sheen form pic, but exhausts at head were very glossy, porcelainized black. Gold in cam valley looks good, its a really odd gold with slight orange tint. Cam cover and nuts look good too, finish different on both. Heck of a Lego dude -

As always brudda The rear windows pop out, so the frame sticks out a bit. RFC, some paint would help on frame. The area between window and fender dose seem to narrow a bit, so will need hands on to tell. Reference link for you. Caution that this is early 61 flat-floor welded hood louver external bonnet release car. LOL. Say that fast 3 times. But has nice shots of giblets. Pic of external bonnet latches, and welded louvers so subtle as to miss. http://classicjaguar.com/cj/885013.html Last photo for Chuck to squint at -
Snake, I think its the GSM version because of exhaust dumps. That 67 Charger in that series was same way. No sidepipes. IIRC that was a 74 issue. Mark or Casey know, but I don't think the annual 69 was correct until long after 69. So you get the mixed. Looks great. Saving is more fun than new. Found this, figured you'd like it. Never heard of or seen show, "Highwaymen" http://coolcarsinmovies.blogspot.com/2009/06/1968-plymouth-barracuda-super-stock-426.html Jim Caveziel and Rhona Mitra ?

Group 44 ran S3 V12's, Dave, this is a S1, pre 65 tombstone seat car. Cunningham ran one briefly as well as a LTW. Heller kit has decals. Mostly privateers. LTW obviated need for running normal E after 63. That car looks great. Roof looks nice, chrome windshield frame will pull forward edge out and down a bit. Rear roof looks great, the S1 pre-65 didn't have 2+2. Rear wheelwell behind tire looks great. Gunze made it too flat. Wires tolerable with detailing. Radiator opening may be a tiny bit narrow, but a but hard to tell, and ez fix. Engine looks great. Lose the sebring mirrors and the awful antenna in middle of one of the prettiest rooflines ever Real car had seams on fender as represented. They dod awesome job on the hood as it sweeps down around headlights, bulge. Hardest part to capture. Could build early welded louver external hood latch car easily. Here's grille opening, really pretty close. Better with chrome/contrast. Nice work GRev. -
John Wick muscle cars. But do them right. Covers a LOT of ground for memorabilia/movie fans, there isn't much. And muscle car guys. Better than Pepsi even

Thanks Mark. For some reason I thought the year was on more than original issue before it went to AMT. I hunted down a first issue because I wasn't sure, and I have an AMT bumper which may have been from Show n' Go. Again, you da man.

Cool build, nice paint. Glad to hear body panels anf fitment good. I've got this kit, and was concerned about that. Good work. -
If you can enjoy the redo, and it is simple enough to not delay other projects that are more fun, do it. I think it's a pretty model either way, but I'm such a Duesy sucker I get the OCD. Kind of a sad tribute, but cool. Paint, no major bodywork I see. I can't really tell in shots if you made a short chassis, but it hit floor and frame ok. Do something fun. Dash looks awesome, nice work.

Kurt did great tool roll for his NART. I was looking for something today, found tool roll for 330/365. Pretty much what is in Fujimi Daytona +/-. Don't know plans, but figured I get a photo ref for you. Hard to see laid out properly. https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/es20/the-european-sale-featuring-the-petitjean-collection/lots/n0011-ferrari-330365-tool-kit-and-jack/892995 19 hours left, current bid is $9120 USD/8000Euro. I'd think close will be 11.5-12k Some good buys in this auction thus far. -
There's a build, a Vega 4 in a PS chassis I've never had this kit, is it based on stock chassis? Or modded other than room for slicks? I can see tubs, but more to a PS.

Uh-oh. Someone will jump on this. I agree. If I could just get past primer and final mockup. Flash, sinks, parting lines gone. Doh.

Took 7 posts after Jesse's pics (thank you) before ripping it apart started. Not about you Dale, or Justin. In general in new kit threads. Always. ? Everyone can have opinions, that's what this place is for. But realize that many of the Coke/Elvis/FnF/Supernaturals will never get built. Not like our stashes, but fans/memorabilia collectors. Sits on shelf with other Brand memorabilia. Doesn't excuse stuff. Just know that market is who will PAY for the tool. Without them, anymore, you wouldn't see a 53 year old mid line 4 door hardtop. EVER. If it looks bad, don't buy it. Or fix it. Proportions are decent. way better than diecasts of it. For us, it's kitbash fodder, or Grandma Dammits car (old tv ref, I'm old) Like Snake says, build on. And be well.

Show and Go box art pretty awesome. Verdoro Green, Vinyl top. Mark and Casey ftw

Elegance series. Couldn't have remembered that for my life. That was first kit issue with AMT instead of 1965 plates on it IIRC

How about Some Barris themed models.
keyser replied to HotRodaSaurus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
First, a Barris early Bronco Pimptacular George himself at wheel Later facelift They put a Cossie in one too. They've had 3, the above is my favorite. No nice pulchritudinous ladies though. https://www.automobilemag.com/news/ford-transit-supervan-history/ -
Mark, was the last issue with year the 2600 issue? Tiger stripe I think? Or was it the series with tinted glass that I think it was in, but chemo brain has killed the name of the series currently.

Current Hot Rod / Street Rod trends
keyser replied to OldNYJim's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'd think some simple kits of Hoonigan cars would sell like mad. Mustang alone, version 1 and 2 would go insane. People would "prlck" up their ears and open wallets.
