  1. The Strombecker D50 Lancia Ferrari and their 250 F Maser are bigger than the Merits. More 1/24-1/24.5. Same with Strombecker Benz W196. Really nice lines, I have Merits of same, close, but smaller. Merit D50 plan is for early full pannier tank car, doubt I'll get to them. If you guys throw engine in D50 be sure engine is 15 degrees or so across car, Detail pic search is crucial. '
  2. Knee knocker AC was not available on 69-70 Mustangs, actually I think AC was intergrated into dash either 67 or 68. Even base Mustangs with factory AC used dash vents.
  3. That's a reboxed Italeri 1/24 288. It is nice save for the TRX tires that are easily replaced. Body is very nice an only fiddly thing is rear window/deck fit. Better tires and thinning up front spindles and wheels was about it. I think the roof/rear on it is better proportioned than the Fujimi
  4. Those are wheels from the Modelers 2D model Fujimi reissued it once. The latest issues of Mono 2D had ok wheels and Bluestreaks out of Cobras that work ok too. The Modelers kit is a later 2D, with 4 light front end, not like the R/M. I found a nice Tamiya 2J body, fans, cockpit, perfect for curbside. I had the R&D 2J but it was a resin brick. Chaps had few decals. Easy builds.
  5. The 635CSi, 928, Stratos, and a couple others (Bora) were part of the series too but had lots of detail. The RX7 seemed to be small enough that it fit in the tiny boxes like the 911/SL etc. The 308 had nice detail, prob best of the 308's out there, also fit in tiny box.
  6. Costs a lot of $$ to chop tops
  7. Tilt Marui did one ages ago, really nice, I have one. Motorized, but you can't see much on real car. They did some other variants too, very nice 935-77. Also did a CSL 3.5 like Stuck's, all hard to find now. Bodies are awesome. Happy about this one. Wonder about the Tilt Marui tools, they had gorgeous shiny finishes, did best Pantera ever, plus 312T, M23B, and Tyrell 007
  8. Give it to a kid, a young modeler, or put it in parts stash. If it's mostly buildable, pass it forward. If not, part iit out or sell it for $5-6.
  9. The diamond buckets are crude, as is the console. I like the bolstered seats, which are used in builds today. Less than 1% of people under 30 would look at the old trash and like it. Wheels are dated, as are the unchromed rim Moons. So what, you don't have a parts stash? Give the stuff you don't like away to young modelers rather than having to trade every nickel out of a kit. I swear, some of you guys are the most intolerant people I've known. Lighten up, it's a kit. Old issues are everywhere, even original issues are thick on the ground. Spend $ and get over it. Get off my lawn.
  10. They're trying out round boxes. The delay was retooling kit so the trees would fit in the new boxes.
  11. FTW. Models far more common than models. Decent live pics of races though. Takes awhile to find.
  12. Don't forget the working headlight doors on the 63 only convertible.
  13. Putting fun back in dysfunctional Great handbag fight Jesse
  14. Ooops. See, I'm not political, it starts handbag fights. Back to the 30 Ford coupe drama and great memes
  15. Now it's "alternative facts" Not politics, more "Manufacturing news to fit a conspiracy theory about a tool" Suspect like me, Bill not particularly political.
  16. RIP. Colon cancer is dreadful. Harry was on same chemo as my wife was. Side effects were killing him faster than the cancer last I checked on the curmudgeon. Colon cancer kills 70% of victims in first year. 5 year survival is 8%. Please get checked.
  17. You missed a great meme op 2 actually.
  18. Yep. If so, how are they continuing to release kits, magic? The Mint tools were seized for a criminal case associated with the tool company. No idea what, but seizure is common in tax and criminal cases. Caught in middle? Tough. China shoots people for crimes, not a bad idea, fewer repeat offenders. Car I sold to Netherlands was caught up in a case for 13 years. I was paid prior, but it sat in a warehouse entire length of case. Needed complete restoration at end, was pretty fresh when confiscated. Stuff happens every day in business. It's not ours to know. Save it for story time not a cover up or conspiracy. Frigging drama. Plenty of real drama in life. Try it.
  19. Tom, anti Chiiiina. So, Cheetos bags. Maybe a forklift caravan? We should all buy cases of other kits hoping there's a swarm of lousy forklift drivers out there. We'll make tens of dollars Knowing how fun insurance claims on international basis, and time to repair a tool properly, I'm confident it should get relaunched reasonably soon. Just because it's broken doesn't mean you stop paying for it. They want it blowing kits out so it'll pay for itself. So wait, hope, be happy we got a nice tool in first place, and buy them at regular price from Revell.
  20. I expected Art's address and name on that ya know.
  21. Many Twinkie eaters get around via forklift. Maybe we need a forklift model with optional loads of Revell tools, Twinkies, or muy gordo customers? They'll sell like, ummm, Twinkies? Bill, your first line handled the understand part...hysterical idiots. Just to clarify. Next thing you know, class action lawsuits. Hmmm, that's an idea.
  22. When your knowledge base is Twitter, You Tube, and Snapchat, don't expect much. And bankers that put up hundreds of millions each year for movies, they want their money back. They exist to entertain AND make money, same as model companies. <25yo don't go for art films, they go for bewbs, cars, relief from boring existences/jobs/life. American Graffiti hit a market at an age where younger people 30+ could relate to childhood in 50's-60's. Star Wars is big again to an audience that was born 20-25 years AFTER the original. I don't like remakes of decent movies, but serial stuff with special effects grabs people for 2hr. Try that with anything else these days. Try watching a beach movie from the 60's, or Elvis pic now. Same diff. And sorry, but AG isn't in same league as GWTW etc. Lots of people never saw the film originally.
  23. Wow! You're in the top 10 most potent! Congrats. Use it well, and often! Nice build.
  24. It has to do with Volcanic activity in Hawaii. Gregg is one powerful reincarnation of Boki, or maybe Kamehameha. He's on Oahu so my bet is Boki.
