I'd guess after months, I would give up unless clear message from them personally here says otherwise.

Congrats. Really nice builds all. Glad a car beat military. IPMS giving us more props over last few years. -

2020 Kit Development Update from Round 2
keyser replied to Dave Ambrose's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's a 66 Nova wagon, new tool, not the 63. Cool idea. -
Our priorities are straight. World won't end. Just like mocking newly dead people, it isn't normal. Make. A. New. Thread. As in Hey, let's talk about Whatever. Go into a meeting at work and start talking about model cars, or whatever. It's in wrong place, and it is not going to get anyone a kit. Also, calling a company stupid/whatever has never made them listen. I didn't start the post. But I agree with it. The interruptions happen in tons of threads, making them unreadable. It's a board. Talk about whatever. It has thread titles. Make a new one, it's like typing a post and adding a title. Rudeness and entitlement to do whatever, whenever doesn't work. Pretty sure that's in Terms of Service in this board, as it is in every other board I'm on. Whatever.

Meguiars has a clearcoat polish called scratch-x. Mine is in white bottle. For clearcoat and headlights. I use it on clear windshields during resto's. Worth a shot, really mild. Light pressure as always, best to use microfiber towel washed without fabric softener. Try it on some old glass, lesser diecast. I really love this car, don't have it because details poor for price point. But Corniche's are cool cars.

Veyron sounds like vacuum cleaner. Nart>>>new Bugatti. Now, going nuts on a Monogram T35B, that's another thing entirely. Amazing work. Truck too. At same time. You and Dann.

Pretty sure it's the old Protar mold. No. Find old Strombecker W196. Here's old thread.

I LOL'd at that price cap comment. Let's see- yield per tool at MSRP of OMG $32, or MSRP $150-175. Duh. THAT's why they need 3+ variants for car tool, profit is a fraction of the Sci-Fi/TV/Movie stuff. Prices crush even high end resins and military stuff. I'd expect not a lot of 40% coupons used on the Sci-fi stuff either. Few of the people seem to buy the existing resin of automotive kits. OK. Wait. and wait. and rant. #notgonnahappen.

WOW-Webers on a Mopar, don't recall seeing that ever. And a Mercury SOHC with Webers. Loving that. Needsa home in a nice 64 S55 or a 67 Cougar. Not a 65-66 Cyclone fan, but it would go like stink. I remembered watching Honey flog that Cobra in that picture. She was hot, hotter still running that little car. Cool build.

Have you tried a bit of Future? Q-tip and it sometimes does wonders, pretty benign on everything I've used it on. Of course, new name. Pledge Floor Gloss. Shoot me. http://www.finescale.com/how-to/tips/2018/05/reader-tips-pledge-future-gloss-has-a-new-name

Looks great Fred, I'd leave it alone. Probably someone tested it I'd just use common issues of the other cars, find repro or NOS decals. Transporter and C600 get issued some, Just saw a C900 tilt cab for $40. Cool find.

Not in the middle of another thread. PERIOD. Many click on the thread to find out about 2020 releases. That is buried by blahblah68blahAMTstinksblah. Start a new thread. I want to read the subject I clicked on. Not thread hijacks. Over and over and over. OP tired of it to the point of starting THIS thread. Why can't people start a thread instead of killing other threads. So, based on what's happening, We only need ONE thread? Or do we guess what topic is in a thread titled 2020 Releases or whatever. Why do we have titles? Many DON'T CARE about a whatever if it ain't an AMT 2020 release. Try going to a big car board, or HAMB, or whatever and pull that. You'll regret it. Mods here are very tolerant volunteers. STICK to the topic so we DON'T have to wade thru stuff unrelated to post. Why is that so hard? Why don't people do that?

2020 Kit Development Update from Round 2
keyser replied to Dave Ambrose's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No forklift. No Chad. -
LOL. Just realized yet ANOTHER New for 2020 thread has devolved. Yay. 2-3 Revells and an AMT. Need a "It's a business-No it's whatever" sticky thread. You da man Mark. I kinda recalled that but didn't want to get hammered by someone that didn't really know.

The focus is on the money, the market. TV/sci-fi. Largest seller ever is the Hazzard Charger, suspect the Monkeemobile still sells, the Smokey and the Bandit T/A, KITT. But They started Star Trek stuff in 74 or so. Owned the market and it's done nothing but explode. Not even Japanese anticipated it. R-M is in it too. But even Space 1999 stuff sells like mad from TV series a few decades ago Model companies have financial issues first. Hard to deal with fickle market. But Star Wars, Star Trek, all transcend generations. And they pay up. It's a business. To make money.

JC is that AC in here on build thread? The re-issue 328 is the one with truly only half a windscreen. Frame stops just past upright. If you know a caster I'd be glad to send one if he doesn't have one The 328 has working steering, great little kit. Brooklands screens can fix the issue but not in kit. Easy to fab though.

LOL. You mean you want it yesterday, middle of last week would be great. Looms look great. If ya want a treat 1:1, try putting new plug wires through that tube. Astounding update. When you show it, use Q-tip with tiny amount of gas on it, dab on yellow line somewhere invisible. Then tell them it has a small leak. After the truck is done, I found your next project 24 plug Jano designed 12 with 12 leads per bank. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_Jano_engine

AMT Truck, trailer and cobra
keyser replied to ewetwo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's reissue box art of a combo kit from late 60's. Probably out a year or 2 now? I forget. The 289/260 Cobra kit is in there, with the retro stuff from the latest Round 2 issue. The great AMT origin '53 Ford F100 in there too. (Flip nose was MPC). It has the trailer first seen in 64 Vette kit I think, and in the Fireball 500. This is 2 axle version. I forget what the others had. Good pics in Cobraman's review. HTH -
The point is NOT what you/we want. We all want many things. The point is WHERE and HOW you ask. That's all really. Go to a party at someone's house you don't know very well(kinda like a real-time board). Then start shouting I WANT NUGGETS in the middle of the party. You might get your nuggets. But not because of that, at that time. And I doubt you'll be hitting a party soon. Just a thought.
-
I agree. But not to detriment of threads that have nothing to do with the topic. Most boards would shut that off-topic stuff down, now. Want to talk about new releases? Great. Want to discuss why 63 Dinngleball Golden Smegma hasn't been retooled? New thread. ALL the other boards I've been on do that. Was on brit aircraft site looking for SU-57 info. 1/72 kit came out. People kept asking about when 1/48 coming. OP (a mod) posted multiple times there WASN'T a 1/48, discuss the topic at hand. Then it stopped. I'd guess bans/thread bans. Courtesy doesn't seem to exist anymore. Talk about whatever. If it isn't in the thread, start/revive one. Please share, just politely/in right place. Or else we'll become Congress ?

Will they intorduce a 68 Coronet? Straw man-> straw kits? We have a new meme! Is that a CORONET???? For the boomers, watch this 18 sec, best I can do to explain
-
Thank god you didn't say 69 Coronet. I'm safe. Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha. Just messin' with ya. Buy up all the builders, pull off the hoods, grilles, F bumpers and TL, then sell bodies for start bid of 65-75, reasonably. Then, rip beak on the leftovers Should make enough to buy nice 1:1 Ambassador. PS, have 68, 69, and 70 Coronet ht's and converts. Minty, and 70 made from reissued 70 and a Modelhaus cv wsf.
