  1. Mad Max anything. But with the new trailer being EPIC and movie to hit next year, I predict reissues will follow with maybe at least one new offering.
  2. I use Vallejo paints a lot lately. But I'm transitioning a bit to different [iE: Military, Figures] types of models. If you are building say a 57 Chevy? Well, Vallejo does not have a metalllic red to spray onto the body. They make mostly flat earth tones with some primary colors thrown in for good measure. Car models require colors the Vallejo range simply does not make. I mix and match paints as i progress which is why my paint inventory has grown considerably over the last year or so. That and my airbrush and compressor purchase. I can now shoot Alclad and basically anything I want onto the model of my choosing. Vallejo paints are superior to almost anything out there and if they made automobile colors I'd have them in my stash and would probably say goodbye to enamels forever. I shoot Testors enamels thinned with laquer thinner with great results but find I need subsequent coats for total coverage. Vallejo paints cover in one coat any color over any color. Bob
  3. Stunning interior... Looks like the real thing, and that's what we are all aiming for. Bob
  4. In between finishing up my Malco Gasser and a couple of other things this came in. I jumped right on it and 3 days later here we are. Intense Blue Pearl with a MM Buffing Magnesium roof. Flocked the inside and swapped out kit wheels for parts box ones. Threw that HUGE air scoop away for something a bit tamer. Alclad on the headers, scoop and blower. I need to BMF the tailgate ribs and the clearcooat on the surfboard is drying but I'm calling it done. Another one for the Deals Wheels section of my display case. I think it needs an antennae. I can almost hear "Slow Ride" on the Kraco stereo. I gotta find a better place to take pics than my bench..... arghhhhhh...... Bob
  5. That is looking Fantastic bro. The trim, the engine detail...... Really impressed with this one. Bob
  6. That is fine looking, it truly is. That color combo was one I considered when I built mine a year or so ago. Well done. Bob
  7. My favorite Youtube subscription. Bob
  8. Perhaps my skills were not up for the challenge at the time. I am reaching into my mind for the impression I first got. Now, I can handle one, but I didn't know about the tire issue. I'll revisit it at some point in time. Bob
  9. The Accurate M iatures McLarens were a bit of a turnoff for me. It was impressive when I opened the box, but fiddly as all get out. I had finished a portion of it and then sold it on eBay when they were on fire hot. Kinda wish I had another. i may revisit it. Bob
  10. A current Funny Car or Top Fueler in 1/16th. That'll happen when I simultaneously hit the Lotto and start dating Zooey Deschanel. Both HIGHLY unlikely. Bob
  11. You have great eyes Mark. I could not work in that scale and pull it off so superbly. Well done bro. Bob
  12. First funny? Looks great and you detailed it in very fine fashion. Welcome aboard. Bob
  13. I know the IMAI and Imex kits have shovels in them, I have quite a few. Most of them represent late 70's early 80's bikes which all had shovelheads. The only Knuckleheads are in the Revell chopper series which are getting stupid in terms of money on Fleabay. I keep an eye and they never go cheap. But perhaps a gluebomb would be a bit cheaper. The Imai and Imex kits can be had cheap enough. I have 3 projects in various planning stages in the works and I'm basing them completely on those kits. Since I have a rigid Shovelhead I plan on constructing a replica of it as well as one of my Pops older bikes as well. I think there are a couple in 1/12 that have Panheads in them as well. I think i need to look tonight and see. They are great places to start. Bob
  14. I work every other weekend and right now the 3rd Sat falls on my work weekend. BUT, when I can go i do. I have been going for 4 years now and it's always a blast and i find something I want every time. Bob
  15. That's killer Curt. The motor is a little too modern for my taste but your overall scheme is dramatic. If it had a Knuckle or Shovel it would be perfect. Bob
  16. Super tight Dave........ What color is that. I also like the touches. These cars are ripe for this treatment. Bob
  17. What???!!!! What did this kit look like in the box? I would have closed it up and slid it under something hoping to forget it somehow..... The end result is.............. WOW.... Bob
  18. You couldn't give it to me. Hideous. Bob
  19. That's the nicest build of that kit I have ever seen. Perfect color choice and execution is Par Excellente" Bob
  20. I fail to see the scale issue. If it's something you like what does scale have to do with it? Display? Really? A fine model is just that. A fine model. This scale thing is something I never got. Absolute sillyness Bob
  21. Thanks John. What I've been looking for is the Flap Jack kit. I look on eBay and only see ads for sale. Perhaps I'm not looking hard enough. If you know that kit then you know what a Hoot it is. I had one as a kid and would like another shot at it. That thing flapped and jumped around like it missed its Ritalin dose. I'll keep looking till I find one.
  22. Thanks Bob. Aside from the terrible parting line that was going to be obvious I think the black exhaust strikes balance a bit. There is already quite a bit of chrome and figured I could not only get rid of a glaring flaw but also give it a tougher Hot Rod look. Bob Oh! And that's a serious looking contraption Dave.
  23. I've been sold on Acrylics for many years now. There are a few tricks to getting good results and after watching his vids all you need to know is there. I use Vallejo for most of my needs but of course Tamiya and Mr Color are a big part of my paint inventory. Once you've figured out the Barrier/Acrylic/Laquer/Enamel thing a whole new world will emerge for you. I think you're going to dig the results. Bob
  24. I want to add something about the Asian comparison. Japanese in particular are a very detail oriented people. Their culture is such that it's not GEEKY to build models. A well built model is met with praise and encouragement. The culture is far removed from what we have grown up with. This is a simplified comparison but accurate nontheless. Bob
