  1. Besides the Directory of Model Car Kits (I have one from about 15 years ago, need to get the latest), there is a pretty nice Excel spreadsheet out there..I got a copy from someone a few years ago...I don't know who the author is, the file is called 'model car database_revised Nov 2012'. Seems pretty comprehensive.
  2. The thing about the promo tires is kit wheels usually don't fit them well... I may get a set of the T260s myself, whitewalls would look good on the 4dr Corvair I want to build w/ the Modelhaus 4dr ht body.
  3. Been a crazy couple days IRL and at work... just the kind of days where you want to chuck it all and run screaming for an island. The mildest thing that happened was at work this afternoon---the elevators in the parking garage got stuck between two floors...with several people on it...incl. my manager.
  4. Maybe the T260 tires...the later Corvairs still had 13 inch wheels? These are the ones I'd consider. Modelhaus description: T-260 (1962 on) four 13 inch AMT 62 and newer narrow white wall kit tire with wheel backmolded in, hard black resin
  5. What's the point when the AMT and Revell-Monogram ones are readily available..
  6. Maisto made that Riviera I believe..I've seen them before.
  7. Saw a really clean blue and white '55 Buick Special 4dr today.
  8. Looking at the kit, I noticed a detail that I hadn't previously--it has propellers...supposed to be amphibious?
  9. Saw a really clean light blue '64-ish Ford F100 long bed pickup tonight..
  10. Lol...I'm more of a Hilton and Hyatt fan myself....though I like Loews as well.
  11. Sounds nice..I'd heard this was coming, didn't realize it was out...I've been very happy w/ the Missing Link kits I've bought in the past.
  12. I built this as a kid back then, along w/ the Monroe Mustang...typical simplified Revell of the era w/ squishy tires.
  13. At dinner tonight, I saw a white Ferrari 458 Italia, a dark red Ferrari 599, a dark gray & silver Rolls Royce Wraith coupe and a dark blue Rolls Phantom coupe, all in the same lot...never lack for interesting car sightings in Scottsdale..
  14. IIRC in the early oughts, the LV marketing pundits tried rebranding it as a 'family-friendly' vacation destination...didn't really work. On the last trip I was there last year (for work) I liked what I saw of the changes that have taken place downtown --they've cleaned up a grubby area w/ lots of new restaurants, etc...
  15. Sweet...seems any of the '66-69 Falcons are hard to find in decent shape..so often they seem to have hacked up rear wheelwells and cut out b-pillars..
  16. Yes, that was what I was thinking of. Other than cars on display at casinos ('Win a Car'!) I usually don't notice the cars...mostly I've gone to Vegas for the shows/concerts and restaurants. I do recall the Wynn having Maybachs as their limos..I work w/ some people that go to Vegas every month, but once every few years is often enough for me.
  17. There used to be a car museum in one of the casinos..I remember walking through it about 10 years ago, but I think it closed.
  18. Ah...so there was a Feb issue. As a subscriber, I'm never sure when to expect an issue..they seem to be very inconsistent.
  19. Different Pointe of View at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs on 7th Street, North Mountain. I've been going there for years for holiday buffets..great for Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc... great views.
  20. Easter Brunch pleased me today... great selection of food, great views. Went to one of my favorite local restaurants at a resort on top of a mountain. Still full..
  21. The Holden Ute was announced to be coming as the Pontiac G8 sport truck back in '08ish but they cancelled it...was at a few auto shows then. Something like a modern El Camino would be of such limited demand and sales that they probably can't build a business case for it.
  22. Maybe they will skip some months and mark the next one May.
  23. Would be nice..one of the later movie Chargers, the Daytona, Escort RS, etc would make neat kits *if* the kit maker strove to be accurate.. AMT's attempt at F&F kits a few years back (Mustang, Monte Carlo, Camaro, etc) left a lot to be desired as far as movie car kit replicas...
