  1. MPC made a 74 Caprice coupe kit 40 years ago...took a lot of work to make a convertible from it.
  2. Cool. I have the stock version and those wheels also in my stash.
  3. Sharp build...like the colour and wheel choices
  4. One advantage Yelp and Urban Spoon have...their apps are on my phone.
  5. I wonder if ice or black ice was involved. I certainly wouldnt drive a car like that in Colorado in December.
  6. you have to be contrary about everything, don't you? I do place more weight on reviews by Chow Bella (local newspaper staffed) or Zagat...
  7. I have the last issue from around 2002 or so...I wonder what is different in the box.
  8. obviously, recommendations from friends, family and coworkers are best, but I like online reviews from local sources for new or unfamiliar places..Urban Spoon, Yelp, etc ...like Angies List for home services..had good luck with them.
  9. yeah, they can be questionable...I use Yelp along With local sources like Chow Bella to read reviews on restaurants I want to try...speaking of Yelp, they have local office in the same building as my client in Scottsdale. Their staff seems to be only 20 something hipsters ...lol
  10. Toyota are built in Kentucky, Nissans and vws in Tenn, BMW s in SC....doesn't really matter to me as long as they build a quality product...
  11. true, but on such a race car, very little would be common with the street version.
  12. Yeah, I keep my reviews simple and straightforward, list the pros and cons.
  13. there are already several casters doing them.
  14. Beautiful. Love this era of big GM cars. Is this the same build that was on here in progress a few years ago?
  15. Sad to hear. Long been a fan, saw him live a couple of times
  16. hobby link Japan. Was originally supposed to be Oct now Dec or Jan
  17. I've never been too hung up on brands, had 4 Fords, a BMW, a Jeep, a couple Mercedes, and a couple of Cadillacs over the years. Probably will own at least something from several of these and other brands in the future...
  18. I've got the Ebbro one on preorder. I have a couple of their previous Lotus kits, they do good stuff
  19. Prius v Volt, Tesla v the world....
  20. Yes. Basically got one entree and the appetizer for free. I also wrote a critical review on Yelp.
  21. I don't expect a Michelin 4 star dining experience at a fast food place, but getting the basics right is expected. The new Dunkin Donuts in my neighborhood can't seem to get drive through orders right..wrong quantity, missing items, wrong donuts...arrrgghhhh. Alas, even more expensive restaurants are prone to issues. Went to a nice restaurant for dinner Friday night (local place that's about $50 each with wine)...appetiZers came out after entrees, one entree was undercooked/raw, etc. frustrating....
  22. I've bought a couple old kits that way..I wonder if anyone has tried to bmf the letters....
  23. Saw a Bing mapping car (Toyota Rav 4) with rooftop camera out driving around today. Also must have been topless Friday, saw a white Ferrari 458 Spyder, Orange Gallardo, red Porsche 356 and a red c2 Corvette, all top down. And a dark colored early 911 coupe w Fuchs wheels in the predawn dark this morning... And for something completely different, a gym in a neighborhood shopping center is using a bumpside Ford F600 fire truck for advertising....
  24. There were also some wild dual rear axle Toronado airport wagons built as well.. http://www.coachbuilt.com/bui/a/aqc/aqc.htm
