Yeah, $3k a month would be a solid mortgage payment, but a bit much for a car..

Other than F1 subjects, I don't care much for 1/20th, though I do have a couple of the MPC 1/20th Corvettes. I may get the AMX, because I don't have a '70 in any scale and the subject. I'd be interested in the van if it could be built stock, but the 4x4 custom doesn't appeal to me.

I have a couple of the Johan and a couple of the Monogram ones..I like that the Johan ones don't have the vinyl top..and w/ the racing parts, they are a better starting point for building a period stock car.

The '55-57 Chevy hardtops used the same doors and quarter panel, didn't they? Revell already had several toolings of those for reference... The hardtop seems to have the same slope..

Love the raced weathering look...beautiful build. Wish that car was available in 1/24th..

Was this before they came out w/ the '68 Fury police car kit? At some point, they retooled the '68 Sport Fury 2dr ht to do the police car sedan, I assume...

School calendars have changed alot in recent decades, apparently...even as a kid 30+ years ago I don't remember starting until after Labor Day..

I wonder if that engine list in post #31 is for '67-69 rather than just '67..because I thought I'd read the 307 didn't come out until '69.

Revell has all of the AAR parts already including the 340 engine, but they are in 1/24th scale and would thus require retooling to 1/25th scale to work w/ the new '70 kit.

Sharp build..love that color, saw an '85-86 LX 5.0 notchback in that color once years ago...

Saw a dark brown '15 Escalade in traffic the other day, first I'd seen of the new generation..pretty slick..also saw a '14 Corvette Stingray in dark green--great color--that car really looks better in dark colors, IMO.

The Dude's car was a '73 Gran Torino IIRC...and the 4dr has a 4 inch longer wheelbase also.

I guess Revell isn't serious and is just providing a few parts to sort of approximate the appearance of a road racer...definitely not a Trans Am series replica. Besides the engine, the hood is wrong also for a race car. Enough parts so they can call it a 2n1 kit.

Not many modern wagons left in 1:1, at least in the NA market. There are a few European wagons around today, pretty much nothing from the US or Asia anymore...

Sharp build...I like the Lindberg '64 Mopar kits quite a bit..

I was in high school (a small town in the Florida Keys) in the mid to late 80s..there were a few '60s-70s musclecars around, but they were all pretty much worn out or rusty (S. Florida salt air). Probably the nicest of the old cars were a pair of twins that had restored '65 Mustangs (burgandy coupe, bright red convertible) and a '50s MGA and early '60s Austin Healey. A buddy had a succession of beater '65-68 Mustang coupes, another had a well-worn silver '65 Coupe de Ville, another had a sharp red '76 Buick Electra 225 coupe. Lots of '70s-80s full size and midsize cars at my school (Olds 88s, Impalas, LeSabres, Regals, Cutlasses, etc), and quite a few new or nearly new '80s performance cars (Camaro IROC-Zs, Trans Ams and Trans Am GTAs, Monte Carlo SSes, a Buick Grand National, a sharp '84 Hurst Olds, a couple Buick T-types, several Mustang LX 5.0s and GTs (incl. my '87 GT), a variety of Hondas and Datsuns. There were a couple of 'exotic' cars in my senior class also--a mid '80s Merc 560SEL AMG (white w/ gold BBS wheels), and a 'Magnum PI' style Ferrari 308GTS (bright red). Also remember a black Porsche 944 turbo and a girl w/ a white BMW 3 series convertible.. As far as teacher's cars that I remember, the football coach had an orange Porsche 914, an English teacher had a diesel Peugeot 504, another had clean black '73 Firebird.

There was a lot of discussion on this kit in the Revell 3rd Quarter 2014 thread. Looking forward to this kit...should be at the preferred program shops in a couple weeks if it's on schedule.

For modern wagons, I'd love to see the CTS-V wagon kitted--that's a 1:1 wagon I would like to own. Or the Merc CLS shooting brake--not sold in NA..love the design:

A '71-73 Dodge Coronet wagon or Plymouth Satellite wagon...Hot Wheels tooled up one as a 'Brady Bunch' wagon a while back, but it's neatly modified w/ a shaker hood scoop. Something like that would be fun in scale--could do stock versions and phantom Hemi or 440 Six Pack versions..I'd love to see one with a '71-72 Road Runner/GTX front end.

That's true... there are definitely politically motivated people in the 'coaling community', though. I have no problem with people legitimately using diesel trucks for work or pleasure, but these jerks that are intentionally polluting and harrassing people, that's a problem...

You guys sling them too..it goes both ways..
