  1. I'd believe Nader before I'd believe any corporate management...sweeping issues under the rug and other CYA moves is SOP in corporate America.
  2. We have something like that here in AZ...my dogs chase them.
  3. Computer controlled transmissions are for greater efficiency and economy. Active head restraints are a safety feature. Cars are more complex today, that's just the way it is in the 21st century.
  4. ..software to control the electronics.
  5. Yes, and the other compact van on the market currently--the Nissan NV200/Chevy City Express--- is built in Mexico for the NA market. Ram is also going to be getting a small Fiat-based van soon to go along w/ the full size Fiat-based Promaster (which is assembled in Mexico). Though I'm not sure how any of this related to model kits..but it would be neat to have models of some of these modern vans, though.
  6. The old ones were, the 2nd gen Transit Connect is built in Spain, and the fullsize Transits are built for NA in Kansas City.
  7. Reality isn't fair, nor is international trade...it is what it is
  8. Japan is pretty much a closed market, I've read..very few imports.
  9. That seems weird that a tie rod would go through an oil pan..how would that work? Doesn't the tie rod need clearance to move when turning the left or right?
  10. I'll admit to doing some occasional high speed hoonage back in the day w/ my '87 Mustang GT and later w/ my '96 BMW M3. But with both cars I loved twisty, winding hilly roads more than straight line speed. I still love high performance cars, thinking about getting a '12-13 Boss 302 or an '09-14 Cadillac CTS-v in the next few years...
  11. I have something like that in mind, maybe using the wide rear tires and Centerline mags from the MPC '74 (I have a bunch of the '80s blue street machine issue)..
  12. It depends on how long I would plan on keeping a car, I guess...I've had my Jeep 14 years, probably should have bought the extended warranty, given all the issues it's had once it passed 100k. But if you plan to keep a car for only a few years, I wouldn't get it. I didn't get it on my Cadillac, because I'll probably trade sooner than later (no more keeping a car past 100k, I'd rather get something new at 50k for the daily driver).
  13. Anyone have pics of the new parts in this release?
  14. I like snap kits, but the '15 Mustang is far more basic than the typical R-M Snap Tite kit--this has no mirrors, no chassis detail (flat plate), no headlight detail--very simplified. Hopefully Revell will do a full detail '15 Mustang sooner than later...
  15. Sharp build...the circa '77 'Bad Dream' version of that kit was my first glue kit in '77 at age 7..it was bear to build IIRC. I've preserved it in all it's glue bomb original status, though..complete w/ hand-cut shag carpeting...
  16. I do like a couple parts of Florida--the Keys where I grew up, and South Florida (Miami up to West Palm Beach)...wouldn't mind living down there again, maybe when I retire in 20-25 years..
  17. Way cool..love the look of those vintage medium duty trucks.
  18. The vent windows on that kit look a bit undersized, could be because the angle of the A-pillar is off
  19. Yes, kind of like Lincolns' current design theme--the 2 piece grille is supposed to harken back to the late '30s-early 40s Continentals and Zephyrs, but except for modelers and old car fans, I doubt if many consumers under 75 recognize that connection--it looks like more like an Oldsmobile tribute, IMO..
  20. Cool...would look nice built up with a load of '70s Japanese cars..
  21. I suspect the marketing organization would think those names are too old to sell to younger buyers...
  22. Yeah, though I love Cadillac's current models, I do miss names like 'Fleetwood', 'deVille', 'Biarittz', 'Eldorado', etc...
  23. Hmm..at least they have a catchy name...here we have the ADEQ.
  24. Yeah, names would be nice. Other brands have had mixed success with alphanumerics. Infiniti is going through a weird change..instead of their current lineup of G,M,EX,FX,JX,QX they are going 'Q' for cars and 'QX' for CUVs and SUVs, with only numeric suffixes distinguishing models. I don't think that is going to work.
  25. Of Lincoln's current models, I do think the MKZ is pretty distinctive...it shares its dirty bits with the Fusion, but has a distinctive skin. Though I'm not sure what the competition is for it...maybe the Acura TL/TLX, Buick Regal and Chrysler 200..
