Southern Motorsports Hobbies, Shipping Charge?

Border crossing/customs fees? -
It's got the same Cragar SS the stock versions have always had...very nice, w/ the S/S cap detailing. Stock hubcaps also. One thing I noticed is it seems to have old tires...I don't recall what tires the original issue has, but this issue has the old AMT super skinny Firestones and some soft, hollow drag slicks.

Anyone know what this is?

Looks like maybe a cab from a crane or other construction equipment. Nice patina. Kind of reminds me of something from a steam shovel. -
Sweet..very clean build..like the color choices

When will Revell show us what they got?
Rob Hall replied to 7000in5th's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My guess is we will see some announcement from Revell prior to January. -

Good point...and wasn't it reported as 'after Oct 15th'? That can be any point in the future... -

Nothing yet..I've checked Revell's FB page..nothing new. I assume that will be where anything will be announced first, like they did last time... -
slight rant about differences

Sad but true...there are a lot of unpleasant people on the model car side of things.. -
My older brother had a '68 Fairlane 500 fastback around 1981-82, he did jack it up a bit w/ air shocks, but the rear leaf springs ended up inside the trunk (rusted rear floor--Ohio car). Had rusty Cragar SSes on it (which came from the jacked up rusty '65 Mustang coupe he previously had--after it went up in flames).

Sweet..love those Johan Caddies..

I've ordered from Harts Parts probably 1/2 dozen times, most recently received one a couple of weeks ago (and I now have another order pending). Never any problems, usually got my parts as advertised within a week or so.
-
Interesting...I didn't know it was ever reissued after the original.

IIRC, the original Monogram Z/28 issue was molded in orange and black? I have one in my stash, but never built it...I do want to dabble in large scale when I have a bigger hobby room.

I read a lot of e-books on my Kindle Fire....currently reading the new James Bond novel, 'Solo'. Recently finished John Sandford's 'Storm Front' (long time writer of Minneapolis-area crime fiction). I read a lot of crime fiction (Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, James Patterson, Elmore Leonard, Carl Hiassen, etc), racing biographies (have ones on Gilles Villeneuve and Juan Manuel Fangio in the queue), auto industry-related histories/biographies (recently read Bob Lutz's Icons and Idiots), etc. As a long-time Amazon.com customer, I love Kindle e-books...though I do miss having good local print bookstores--Barnes & Noble is ok, but I was 20 year Borders customer. I read a lot of technical books related to my career, though the books tend to be out-of-date compared to what's on the internet in blogs.

Given how slow Revell was to get the '10 Mustang and Camaro kits out, I'm not holding my breath for them to get one out in a timely manner... Speaking of the C7, I saw one on the street yesterday for the first time.in Velocity Yellow w/ chrome wheels. A bit too flashy for my tastes, I'd rather have a Cyber Gray or Night Race Blue one w/ silver (or dark gray) wheels. -
I haven't used Star Models, 'msmiteymouse' on eBay has been my R&R source for years...doesn't seem to have a lot of different selection lately, though.
-
Nice..I have the same R&R kit and something similar in mind for mine..same wheel choice w/ redline tires...probably will do mine in a period Mopar olive green or yellow.
-
Yep...most likely West Coast or North East... big metro areas with lots of tech companies and near an ocean is my goal.

Two story is uncommon in the Valley, I've noticed. My bosses have identical 1-story houses (one in Desert Ridge, one in Gilbert) with 3 car garages. My next house, though, will be at least 400-2600 miles from here

I think that look had mostly died out by the time I was in high school in the mid to late 80s, but I like it...my older brother had a few cars in the '70s that he lifted the rear on and had big tires and Cragar SSes on--'75 Firebird Formula, '65 Mustang coupe, 74 Vega GT...and the '68 Camaro SS396 he had in the '80s was lifted... I've done or plan to build a few models that way.

I've got storage units for my miscellaneous junk and boxes of model kits. Alas, no garage--two 1-car carports, but occupied and 2 cars in the 1-car width driveway. My next house will need at least a full 2 car garage, preferably 3 car...
