  1. Very cool..nice to the two build as base trim 2drs. Would be neat to have a kit of one of these to go with them--
  2. I pick up Mopar Action and Muscle Car Review at my local grocery, still get Collectible Automobile via snail mail, hit B&N occasionally to look for Motorsport, Car, and Top Gear.... I switched Hemmings Classic Cars, Hemmings Muscle Machines, Car & Driver, Road & Track and Automobile to electronic subscription and read them on my Kindle Fire...
  3. Interesting...the forgotten Ferrari. Not as ugly as the Enzo, but rather obscure.
  4. Nothing wrong w/ new or different, I don't see any improvement w/ this style of mounting wheels into tires compared w/ the traditional approach.
  5. The new Revell wheel mounting approach reminds me of the style I've seen w/ cheaper diecasts.
  6. Judging by the shape, I'd say it's a late '90s Pontiac Grand Am..
  7. Yes, they did the original '66 that way also...convertible w/ separate ht roof. The '66 ht as we have it now didn't come about until the Countdown series release.
  8. Mini Exotics did a California Special in resin, but they are out of business.
  9. AMT did only the '66 as a kit, though they made the '65 as a promo also. AMT also did a 1:16th '65. Revell did '69 and '70 convertibles w/ separate roofs to do as coupes back in '69/70. There have been some in resin...I have a nice '67 ht from Motor City Resin Casters, AF/X N Scale resin did a '69, Bandit Resins did a '70.
  10. I guess it was supposed to look like it wrapped around...never noticed that. The 'Countdown Series' kits give me warm fuzzies, as kits from that series were the first AMT glue kits I ever built as a kid back in the day..my gateway to AMT...
  11. Ah...ok, so the Countdown Series doesn't have the drag parts...that's how I remember it, built it as a kid. I saw the pic above and realized I don't have the '07 issue--I have the '07 issue of the '59 Corvette, which was shown in gold on the box IIRC. Never had the '80s issue. I also have one that I bought as a builtup w/ an opening decklid, must be a '60s issue?
  12. Ok..cool..I used to never pay much attention to the non-stock parts in kits, so I missed them..
  13. The box art of the new release shows what looks like a partial hood scoop and a twin-blower setup...don't recall the Countdown Series issue or the '07 issue having those parts.
  14. Sharp build...I like those early 911s.
  15. Haven't tried that, but the MPC '70 GTO interior, chassis, engine etc fits fine under it...
  16. It's too bad they never did a variation of their '99 Cobra as a GT...would have been nice.
  17. Does Round 2, US Revell or Moeibus sell very many kits outside of NA? I doubt it...their target market is the US.
  18. Junkman, you need to remember that in the US the core model building market is men age 55 and older...Revell, Moiebus and Round 2's new releases target that core demographic. They are giving the old guys what they want.
  19. Picked up the Stacey David Rat Roaster '32 Ford and an extra Revell '69 Charger Daytona at the LHS this afternoon.
  20. There are so many interesting subjects available in diecast in many scales that have never and will never be available in styrene or resin kits, so I've always been into both...
  21. That's where the demand is...there are a lot more diecast collectors than model builders...just the way it is.
  22. The Round 2 public website always lags behind distributors and vendors...it's apparently fact based, as multiple vendors have these items listed. Just have to wait and see, looks like it's going to be good year for reissues of long-gone kits and variations on more recent kits.
  23. Very nice...forgot that a Cougar raced then..
  24. That was part of the same series as the 'Che Riviera' '65 Riviera box art, I believe. I guess it was one of those 'you had to be there' things from before my time.
