If they had the show in the West (maybe alternate the location every other year) somewhere like Vegas or LA I'd consider going...

McD's stuff is pretty good, but I like Starbucks more... I like Einstein's Bagels coffee also, I go there for a coffee and a bagel once or twice a week --I was in San Francisco last week for a conference and found that a large coffee and a bagel at the same chain was actually $1 cheaper than in Phoenix...wierd... Anyhoo, back on topic--nice Olds race car build!

Two of the three Starbucks near home has a drive thru, though...very convenient. I get coffee from McDonalds also occasionally, or brew it at home (have a regular coffee maker, a Keurig single cup machine, and an espresso machine). I've been a Starbucks fan since the mid 90s.

It was pretty cool being able to see the curvature of the Earth from some of the footage from the capsule (and the darkness of space beyond). Though that will probably freak out the Flat Earth Society crowd.

Yeah, weather this past weekend was great...I went most of the weekend w/o the A/C on...

Unfortunate when unexpected expenses come up like that. My Jeep needed $2k in repairs last month, and one of my dogs is getting $2k in knee surgery next week. But the electric bill was $290 less than usual last month because the weather is slowly getting cooler...

Watched it live on YouTube yesterday...was impressed w/ the clarity of the filming as much as the feat itself...

It was shown at the iHobby show... I would assume it's just the AMT '58 Belvedere with different box art.

The AMT Ford C kits were first released in the mid '70s, so '74ish sounds right.

IIRC, those were announced last year at iHobby.

Maybe Round 2 is jumping on the 50s bandwagon that Moebius and Revell have been playing up...but it is odd that if they are spending the money for all new tooling that they aren't promoting it better... I'm skeptical.

Probably because they already had the similar '67 Charger and '67 GTX, so it wasn't much effort to do a '67 Coronet.. Maybe they also thought a '68 would be too similar to the '69 they already have.

. Which is a very stupid thing to do, considering they used a model that looks nothing like the AMT C600 kit. Makes them look like amateurs. Incompetence.

The Foose Firebird didn't have the stock wheels and tires...not sure if this one will be the same way or not.

I'd rather the model companies stick to photos of the completed kit on the box art rather than inaccurate illustrations or photos of real cars (which inevitably seem to have equipment not seen on the kit).

The retro box art on the '69 Hurst/Olds is pretty cool. The '71 Chevy van in retro 'Rescue Van' box art looks interesting..wonder if they are including the extra parts that original issue had. Looks like they are reissuing the '57 Ford in vintage box art also.

IIRC, Monogram did only Snap Tites of 3rd gen Camaros in 1:24th, while their Firebirds of that era were full-detail. There was also another Snap Tite issue of an '82 before the S&S version, also in red on the box art? I've never had any of the Monogram 3rd gen Camaros, but have all the MPC/AMT ones in my stash...may have to pick up the reissue.

True, but who knows..maybe they are including some extras for differentiation. Since they haven't shown a tooling mockup, it's all just random speculation at this point...

What originals? This Dodge was never kitted back in the day.
