  1. I bought a few dogs from them..pretty nice. I got a German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Yorkie, and Westie. I'd like to find a 1:25th scale Australian Terrier like my Nauti (my dog in my avatar). She looks like a slightly larger Yorkie.
  2. I like Evers Toy Store for new AMT, Revell-Monogram, and Revell of Germany kits. I've bought from them for 20 years or so..they have a easy-to-use website, w/ pictures of all the kits, and do pre-orders. Good customer service and quick shipping. www.everstoystore.com I also like Model Express, I've bought new and older (mostly '80s and up) kits from them. Model Express For Fujimi, Tamiya, and other Japanese brands, I buy from Hobby Link Japan. Hobby Link Japan For Model King special issue kits, I've lately used a couple of reputable ebay dealers.
  3. Cool...I have the Testors/Italeri Daytona coupe and conv. in my stash along with the Fujimi ones to build eventually...
  4. Cool..the FJ is pretty sweet..I see a lot of them around here, they are quite popular with the off-roaders (seen many lifted, with big aftermarket wheels and tires, etc..)
  5. I've wondered also what the engine in the AMT C trucks, and the AMT Louisville truck kits are... they look big.
  6. Hmmm...that looks promising...I wonder if it's 1:24th or 1:25th (i.e. whether to use Revell or MPC Fox Mustang innards).
  7. Welcome to the board, Jackie..I always look forward to seeing your builds.
  8. Cool build..can't wait to see it finished. By the way, I picked up the Dec 07 (Dec issue out in August??) of Mopar Action yesterday..it has an article on the '64 Charger w/ several pages of pics. It's a good issue, also has a very cool 1 of none '71 GTX convertible built by the Dayclona people..
  9. Very cool diorama... a nice mix of cars. I was 2 in '72 and probably chewing on Hot Wheels and Matchbox tires..
  10. Clean build..love the color.
  11. The '66 Wildcat , '70 Impala, or '70 Bonneville chassis with the '69 Riviera engine would probably be the way to go..the '66 Riv chassis would be wrong (x-frame) as would a '66 engine (Buick's V8s were redesigned for '67). Interesting thing is the '70 Wildcat kit was done promo-style (Motor City Stocker Series) while the '69 Wildcat was a full-detail kit.
  12. A Cadillac engine in a Mercury seems very strange..was that a common thing to do back in the '50s?
  13. Hopefully, they do the Mach 1 grille and taillight panel correctly (and badging). Nice to hear about the 428CJ, though I'd rather have seen a 351 Cleveland.
  14. Chopped 49 Mercs aren't really my thing (I'd rather have a kit of a '69 Mercury Marauder or an '03-04 Marauder), but I may have to pick one up..seems like an interesting kit with a lot of possibilities...
  15. There's no engine, so that work's done for you..
  16. Hmmm..very nice. I need one of those, I think.
  17. I like the white w/ black wheel look...I have a Revell '06 Mustang I want to do that way..not sure what wheels, though...preferably not a 5-spoke design.
  18. That's going to be sweet when it's done...looks great so far. Another Camaro concept I saw in a mag recently that I really like is the 'F-Bomb' in Hot Rod...flat olive green w/ black trim..interesting.
  19. I would hope so, but so far, it's the same old same old, bickering, OT rants, etc... the design of the board is a big limitation over there. I still read the HHMB, but this is definitely the place to be for modeling content.
  20. A good website and good customer service goes a long way...that's why my favorite vendor for new Revell and AMT kits for a long time has been Evers Toy Store (www.everstoystore.com).. I've bought from them for years, they have pics, an easy to use shopping cart, etc...and they are fast to ship in stock items, do preorders effectively, and use UPS, which I prefer over DHL... The only negative with them to me is that they don't stock the Model King special issue kits (but I have other sources for those kits). I've also used Model Express w/ no problems. I've looked into buying from Model Roundup, Fantastic Plastics, and Model Empire, but their websites don't work very well (no shopping cart, too much typing needed). Tower Hobbies has a pretty nice website and selection, but I haven't tried them yet.
  21. Very sharp...the lines of the Starliner lend it self very well to two-toning...
  22. This kit isn't a Wal Mart exclusive, though, is it? I see it listed on online model vendors websites as 'coming in August', so I'm assuming it will be readily available elsewhere eventually...
  23. That looks sweet... I have the TMR '71 Challenger R/T ht and '70 Charger R/T ht, very nice..
  24. Went in two Super Wal-Marts between yesterday and today...one had the usual thin assortment of AMT and Revell kits, nothing new. The other had a sign on the aisle saying 'Models' but no models on the aisle, just kid toys....though I recall seeing models there a couple months ago (this W-M is less than a year old).. Don't know about the other 20+ local W-Ms.
