  1. I really hope someone steps up and does the short bed conversion for this. I know there were a couple floating around in the past, anyone remember who did them?
  2. @tim boyd back when the go-kart made it's reappearance a few years ago, (albeit in the 60 Chevy pickup instead of the 61-63 Ford) I think you posited that the streamliner parts could make a reappearance down the line as well. I would have though the 63 pickup coming back would be the opportunity to bring the streamliner back. But it looks like it is getting the camper top. Maybe someday down the line? ?
  3. Looking good. One thing you may want to look at is since you are detailing the underside, there is a big gap between the cab and interior floor once they are assembled to the frame. Many builders have added a simple U-shaped piece of sheet plastic that goes down the sides and around the back of the interior so it fills in the gap. When this kit was brand new I believe Scale Auto even included a template in their article on the kit for the piece I'm talking about.
  4. That body was a little rough. you're doing a good job of brining it back
  5. I agree. But sadly it would probably be a ground up recreation ala the 63 Nova wagon because they modified this tooling into the 69 Mod Stocker kit.
  6. Dang, you could almost build his car straight out of the Revell Monogram box. You're off to a good start.
  7. very interesting. It will be easier to critique the design once everything is one color. However, you may want to strip the old paint before moving on to primer.
  8. There was definitely a kit. I just purchased the custom parts from this kit on ebay a couple weeks ago.
  9. The point of the community build on TRaK is to kickstart some of those old builds of the original kit to get completed before the new Round2 version hits the shelves and the originals become "less unique" (in the instigator, Bob Black's words)
  10. Sweet little rail.
  11. Man you did such a great job making the kit match the movie car. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
  12. Very cool. How about your technique for the redlines?
  13. Cool little hot rod. Would be a handful to drive in real life. Wheel stands galore ?
  14. Nothing ratty here. Nice looking hot rod.
  15. Pulled this pic from Tim Boyds post over in the "car" section
  16. Well what you read doesn't appear to be incorrect. The molds probably were damaged and/or lost. This new release appears to be a clone (with improvements) of the original. Please note the cab is separate from the bed, the improved engine compartment, that the grille and front bumper are now separate from each other, and if Round2 follows precedent, the headlights will probably be separate clear pieces now. Looking forward to further details now that the kat is officially out of the bag.
  17. I have to disagree, or we are just interpreting his deliberately vague statement differently. He didn’t confirm what kit 1407 was, just that there is a kit 1407. I’ve learned not to believe these things until they are officially announced. Which just happened!
  18. Nothing ratty about that sweet little hot rod. Any updates?
  19. Is tomorrow the day we learn if this kit is officially coming back? I know I'll be checking in here and Spotlight throughout the day for DAAM show coverage
  20. Ace, always great to see activity on your bench. I always learn something. Hoping to jump into the RoG group build myself. Gotta get some of these current projects off the bench. But I am formulating a plan and gathering parts.
  21. Looking good Steve, that yellow just POPS! And great idea on severing the cowl from the body. I had that same thought too when I get around to building one of these. Curious what method you used to separate them without losing much material?
  22. Maple Leaf is a storefront on Shapeways. Not sure if you've used Shapeways before, but simply add items from any storefront into your cart and then you pay for it all at once and it ships together as well. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/maple-leaf-modelworks
  23. Patiently waiting for my LHS to get some of this. Looks like the dam may be breaking and the stuff is finally becoming available in the US. Based on the video it looks very promising. The ease of Molotow, but very possibly more durable. Can't wait to spray some and then stick it in the dehydrator to bake it on. That should give the ultimate durable finish.
