Odds & Ends you'd Like to See
Mr. Metallic replied to Calb56's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The Carson style top was only included in the original issue of the kit, then it was altered into the half roof (area over driver is open) that exists to this day. -
Either that or the 65 Wagon, 55/57 Chevy pickup or 60 Chevy pickup

Very nice job. Always love to see a well built Little T.

Great wheel and tire combo. Well done.

Post pics of your six cylinder engines!

This is from the Trumpeter Nova, put it in a custom 65 Malibu Monogram 53 Chevy Moebius Hudson in a 32 Ford -
It was featured in last months video, so it should be very soon.

I know this post is old, but I haven't been around here much lately. I would buy this kit with confidence, but open it as soon as you get it. The issue with the axle is rare, but you need to check for warped windshields. But Revell is good about getting replacement parts out quickly.

Thanks Dennis. I saw this thread awhile ago but haven't been on MCM much so forgot to get back to this thread until now. I was going to share the same pics of Bryce's beautiful build and efforts to fix the proportions. I have my own conversion planned based on his changes. If I ever break out of this funk I'm in. Bill, it's nice to see you working on this one. I'll be following -
Yes, a precursor to the Thunderbird. It is definitely pulling off the "dream" or concept car vibe so far. Can see it spinning on a slow turntable at the worlds fair already.

Revell 1971 Boss 351 Mustang
Mr. Metallic replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
You also have to take into account (which has been discussed here before) that normally we are not privy to the exact date of the commencement of a new tooling project. We are normally made aware of the kit well into it's development. So what seems like along time in this case really hasn't been since they formally announced it (not counting the 3D scanning picture which accidently showed us what they were up to). -

Maybe the admins can combine this with the big 71 Mustang thread? @iamsuperdan -
They are the stock Ford wheels for the Big Bend trim level of the new Bronco. Base/Black Diamond- Big Bend- Outer Banks/Badland- Heritage- Wildtrak

Sorry, I guess i wasn't clear, that's what I meant, specific wheel/tire combos for the Bronco, and possibly other items. Selfishly I'd love to have these so I can build a replica of the one we just took delivery of
-
Thanks Tim. We have been waiting patiently to order one since they shut down ordering last year. As soon as we heard they were opening the window again we reached out to our local dealer and got our order in before they closed it again. We were expecting to wait at least 6 months (if not longer) to get ours, but it took less than two. Very fortunate because now we have it to enjoy this summer with the top down!

Thanks for adding the Nailhead with blower. I'm getting that, one of the Ford DOHC's, but I'll wiat until you release this blown 409 before placing my order. Like I've said man times, here and else where, buy with confidence from Texas 3D Customs. Awesome quality and great customer service. Now, with the Round2 2021 Bronco about to hit the shelves, any thoughts on doing parts for those (especially different wheels and tires?)

Sorry, I am no longer able to edit the post with the list. I think there's some sort of time limit before it get's locked. But thanks for sharing. -
AMT 1/25 2021 Bronco First Edition
Mr. Metallic replied to Jordan White's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I was in on the Bronco when it was announced, but now that we just took delivery of our own 1:1 last week, I'll need more than 1. I know Steve said there are more versions planned for this tooling, but I'm hoping one of the 3D guys comes up with these wheels before too long. -

Still waiting for my LHS to get some. Has anyone tried putting the freshly "chromed" parts in a dehydrator overnight to see if it improves durability?
-
Digging your mods so far, especially the grill. Is this the most recent reissue of this kit that just came out recently? If so would you be willing to part with the tonneu cover? I have a late 60's edition of the kit and i want to build it as a custom too, but no roof, and mine doesn't have the tonneu. I suppose I could use the 62 tonneu, but there are several differences. PM me if you are interested. Either way I'll be following along because this is just cool.

Revell 1971 Boss 351 Mustang
Mr. Metallic replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
If you guys are serious I think you're being a little unrealistic in your expectations in my opinion. Sure, someone at Revell accidently shared their crew 3D scanning the car nearly 3 years ago, but that post was meant to highlight the 3D scanning process, and not the subject matter. Once they realized what they had done Revell took down the images from their account. We are normally not made aware of projects at the very beginning of the process like that. Kits are normally announced when the process is MUCH further along, usually less than a year before the kit is intended to hit the market. So holding it against Revell that it is taking too long isn't really fair. Add into the mix a global pandemic and it feels pretty "on track" to me. -
