  1. This trailer would probably would make more sense as a merch trailer or something (that's a LOT of mech, even for someone as famous as Roth). I'm not disputing the fact that this trailer doesn't make much sense as a car transport. But I think it's more of a instance of it being a recently used tool that Round2 are just trying to squeeze more dollars out of by slapping the Roth Logo on the box. Just like the Coke themed boxings. When was the last time that race car hauler was ever released, the early 90's? It's a shame that one hasn't made a return.
  2. I don't think it was intended to sell as a car hauler. Just a nice trailer to slap Big Daddy Roths name on to sell to collectors.
  3. Maybe the original poster could edit the title, or an admin? @martinfan5 ?
  4. And then the starting bid is way higher than the label on the box. Capitalism I guess. ?
  5. A quick and easy way to get the front axle from the Revell 32 kit a little bit lower is a tip that @tim boyd has been sharing with us since the kit came out new in 96 is to trim the tabs on the top of the axle to allow it to settle into the frame a little deeper. I can come up with some pics if you need me to.
  6. This is such a great idea. I love it and will follow along.
  7. Are those headers included in other issues of this kit? Those would look cool on a channeled 32 or A
  8. Put my money where my mouth is and just ordered one, along with one of the modern surfboards and 3 other engines. Now if i could just find some motivation to actually build something.
  9. Anybody that doesn't want to wheels out of their kit I'll take them off your hands ?
  10. My company is involved with manufacturing in China. Once the mold enters their border it will not leave again, at least in working condition.
  11. Such a squeaky clean build. Great stance.
  12. The chop really hides the fact you started with the not-so-good Monogram body. Way to make something cool out of it.
  13. How about the chassis from the AMT 56 Bird?
  14. Replicas and Miniatures of Md offered a conversion set. Not sure if it's still in their catalog
  15. I'll buy one right away if you list it. I didn't really need to add another engine to the order I'm about to place but if you decide to offer this I can't pass it up. Too cool
  16. The story I heard was the head of the project (sorry the name escapes me) said paint it to look like the fish/shark in my office and they tried several times to get it right and failed. So they stole the fish/shark and painted it to match the car. ?
  17. In my opinion I don't think the hobby, even our corner of it (automotive) is dying at all. However, the way it is shared and experienced is changing. Whether you like it or not, social media platforms are the "place to be" especially for younger participants. And that mostly has to do with the ease with which things can be shared there. I agree, as an archive for the hobby social media is pretty poor, but for a daily interaction with the hobby and the sheer volume of high quality content available every time you log on it's hard to beat. Internet forums on the whole have not done a good job of embracing the changes. This board has done a relatively good job of making their interface more user friendly, especially with the ability to host their own photos and not require someone to use a 3rd party host for images. They have done a good job of being smart phone/tablet friendly as well Proboards forums on the other hand have done a very poor job. There used to be tons of highly active automotive focused forums over there which have essentially dried up as far as activity goes. And that has to do with not having a dedicated app and the requirement to still require a third party photo host.
  18. That's freaking RAD! You made me smile with all the movie specific details. Great realistic weathering too.
  19. Very clean builds. I especially like the paint job on the coupe
  20. Ambitious project. Most people would have thrown that body in the trash. looking forward to seeing what you make from it.
  21. You had me with your well done restoration of the first coupe, but then knocked me over with the second and all the scratchbuilding it reqiuires. Wowza ? and thank you for doing a color other than red on the first one. It's rare to see these, but nearly every one is left red plastic.
  22. Just found out we're getting an Ollies in Moline Illinois, opening next week. I'll finally get to partake in these deep discounts you guys have been getting because prior to this the closest was in the Chicago suburbs, three hours away. Hoping I'll be lucky enough to find one of those Rat Fink semis and trailers when they open, but doubt it.
  23. Congratulations. Hope it doesn't take too long to get it. The waiting was the hardest part, and we didn't have to wait as long as many others have.
  24. Nothing since June 1st? I'm in a very prolonged slump right now, but it's was nice seeing all these vintage hot rods being built. lets get back to it fellas!
