  1. Spent some time today spraying and stripping paint. Sprayed a bit of color on my 63 Mercury Meteor. Taking a bit to get a smooth coat. Had to do a couple of rounds of wet sanding. Yesterday I started the paint stripping process in the Purple Pond of the rebuilder 59 Impala, 58 Ford and 49 Ford. After 24 hrs of soaking and a couple rounds of scrubbing I got almost all of the black paint off of the 59 Impala, half of the 6!!! coats of paint off of the 58 Ford (black, gold, maroon, green, orange and purple!). The paint on the 49 Ford hasn't really budged at all. I'm letting them soak all weekend and we will try again Monday. Later-
  2. I received my end of a trade with 1st 700 Quad (Steven). Arrived quickly in great shape! Thanks Buddy! Later-
  3. That looks really good! I love the 70 Camaro body style. What color of blue is that? Very nice looking. Later-
  4. Thanks Nigel. PM sent. The Skyline is a Fujimi kit. Later-
  5. Banner day for me!! Came home to find these waiting for me. I think that I have enough projects for a while! Later-
  6. Just picked these up on my way home from work. All nice kits! Later-
  7. It is a SD. I believe it is an MPC. Later-
  8. As promised, here is what I picked up yesterday. Lots of treasure....some trash. Later-
  9. Thanks guys! I sure would like to know who the OB was. Would be nice to pickhis brain about a few of his builds and let him know that they are being appreciated. I'll be posting pics this morning when I unpack them. David- the interior cloth held on just fine. I didn't wash it because I wasn't sure how it would hold up. I just took a damp toothbrush to it. It didn't manage to get all of the dirt off but a majority of it did. You can kind of see the results in this photo. Later-
  10. Thanks guys! I think I made the right decision too. I picked up a bunch more from this guy today (not his builds- he's a reseller). I'll post some pics tomorrow of my haul once I get them unpacked. Later-
  11. Some nice stuff there. I like it. Later-
  12. We (I) need to see some better pics of your score! Later-
  13. Thanks guys! Glad you like it. I've stumbled into a small collection of builds from a guy who is not the original builder. I'm picking up some of them, all about the same condition. Some I plan to strip and some I plan to just clean up and put back together. If you like this, stay tuned for more. Later-
  14. Either that or a well trained shotgun! Later-
  15. I picked this up from a guy last week. It needed a good cleaning and a bit of freshening up. Being that it appears to be a build from the 60's I felt it best not to try to change anything. I tore it down to the basic assemblies for a good cleaning (man, was it dirty) and reassembled and replaced a few missing parts. Still need a passenger side exhaust manifold and a taillight. Enjoy! 16. Dann, This thing looks so mean! I really dig the work your doing on this! It has familiar elements of other cars but looks completely fresh. Keep it up. Later-
  17. Nigel, Thanks for posting this build. I've been wondering what that kit looks like. Exactly the one I want. I'll have to get me at least one. I love the color that you've chosen for it and that you built it without the race parts. It looks great! Later-
  18. I'd be interested in the sedan and the wagon myself! Later-
  19. This is just the first in a half dozen or so that I came across. Still making a deal for the rest. Later-
  20. Well, tonight I picked up this old built up from a guy with intentions of stripping it and redoing it. After some encouragement from Tom Geiger, I decided to just scrub it up and leave it as is. So, after taking it down to the main subassemblies and giving it a good bath here it is. I need to find a driver's side rear wishbone, a passenger side exhaust header, a front tire and one taillight. Still looks like it's been around the block but it is much cleaner. Enjoy! Later-
  21. I think you're right. Cleaning it and keeping it the way it is will be best. I pulled the body off to get to the interior. I can see that I need at least one part already. I am missing the driver's side rear wishbone. Got the thing pulled apart as far as I'm taking it though.
  22. It is thread. I think I need to at least pull the body off to wash it since the interior appears to have corduroy glued on it. I can't imagine I'll be able to get that clean without having to get to it better. It even has wiring run for brake lines! Later-
  23. I was thinking the same. Or maybe Cheese Whiz or Cheez-it crackers. Later-
  24. Just picked this up. Can't wait to clean it up! Later-
