Thanks fellas for the interest. Unfortunately it is never a good idea to try posting something while trying to deal with a puppy. I wasn't able to pay attention to where I posted it. Although it may get more coverage in the light truck section, technically it is a drag vehicle. The bed was a one piece unit molded in yellow plastic but was identical to the multi-piece bed from the kit (which I didn't have at the time) Later-

Sorry Mods- I should have posted this in the Drag WIP section. Later-

So, I started this recently as a test subject for weathering videos I have been checking out. I think it is working out well. My plan is an abandoned old drag pickup. The owner "upgraded" at some point in the late 60's to a Chevy II. He pulled a few parts from this ride to recoup some cash. The front clip he sold to another racer who wrecked his ride after a hairy run down the strip, making contact with the guardrail. All I have left is the interior, front suspension, door handles, wheelie bars and chute. Right now the chassis and body parts are just sitting together. Later-

Roger, The work you're doing on this one is outstanding. I like the use of the Caddy parts with the Mercury. Nice looking updated chassis. Later-

St John Jeep
Modlbldr replied to Tom Geiger's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I am enjoying following along with this build. As a matter of fact, after cleaning off my bench last night in preparation for the upcoming 24 hr build I dug out my small box of Jeep parts and began working on putting things together. Unfortunately I need to find a set of instructions for the Monogram 76-77 CJ-7 to see what I may be missing and figure out where a few pieces go. I may make me a trailer like you did with the spare blue body. Keep up the good work. We are watching. Later- -
Square body GMC

Perfect! Just perfect! Later- -
My Dodge pickup came today! Just like it looked in the ad. From a quick glance it looks like all that is missing is the instructions. I believe I'll strip it and repaint it in the same paint scheme. Later-

Fantastic work you're doing on this. I like all of the small details and that you are building it as a stock ambulance. Nice work! Later-

Got my end of a deal with Casey. Great trader! Thanks for the parts. Later-

Made a stop by Hobby Lobby tonight with my wife to get some pictures framed. While there I picked up some things to get prepared for the 24 hr build on Jan 30th. Got to do some cleaning/ organizing of my work area before then. Later-

Got it up on the wheels and engine and exhaust installed. My bumpers and grill were airbrushed with Molotow last week and I've been resisting touching them until this point. Just need to get them installed, a mirror on and the Connie kit installed. Getting close. Later-

Cadillac Roadster de Ville (what if?)
Modlbldr replied to THarrison351's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This one I like. The first one is just a mess, IMHO. I have to give credit to the efforts, however. Not every attempt at bat is a home run. Later- -
Lol. I like how things seem to just come home with us from the hobby shop. I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Maybe I'll stop in to B and B this week and see if they have any on order. Later-

Tom, Thanks. I appreciate the info. I had read it on the 24 hr page. I have been looking over the kit and actually have been getting excited to build it. Later-

Is this a "Test kit" of sorts or are they out now? Later-

Just won this on eBay. I like the paint job. Can't wait to see how good it looks. If it needs it I'll strip it and repaint the same. Later-

I remember that build. You did an excellent job on it! I'll keep that info about the turbo pipe and the different length half shafts in mind.

Thanks. I think I will be working on the Dodge Stealth for the 24 hr build. I should be building the Ramblur soon and will have a WIP post on it. Later-

Although I may build the GTO, I am actually leaning towards the Dodge Stealth. It is a nice kit with a clean casting. Also, I have had it so long and tried to get rid of it numerous times and nobody seems to want it. I really have no attachment to it. Later-

The Ramblur would be a slightly customized version due to its simplicity. Let's face it, have to have some sort of a challenge. Later-

I'm going to do the 24 hr build this year. I've been trying to decide which kit to settle on. This will be my first go at the 24 hr build. I did the 3 day challenge a few years ago over the 4th of July weekend and managed to complete the build of a Thom Taylor Vette Agin kit. It was a fun challenge so I thought that I would test my endurance and abilities with the 24 hr build. So, here are a few of my choices. I'm looking for your input as to which I should do. I currently have it whittled down to two but can be swayed easily. I'm leaning towards the Dodge Stealth Turbo or the GTO funny car. Although the Acura Integra could be fun to build with a targa roof. (Keeping any mods simple) Let me know what your thoughts are and if you feel like joining in on the 24 hr build this year contact Nacho Z. Later-
