  1. Looking great John! For all it's shortcomings I still like this kit. Later-
  2. Sure. Send it on up! Later-
  3. Still plugging along on this. I got the interior completed. Lessened the ugliness by painting the seat main color white instead of yellow. Not as much yellow now. I also got the engine installed and the engine bay completed. I'm ready now to redo the BMF on the trim and get the glass in. I want to get this one off the bench!! Later-
  4. I agree. You would need to lengthen the doors. Later-
  5. Picked these up off of FB Marketplace and drove 4 hrs to Oregon to meet Sam I Am (who had picked them up for me) and take possession. The kits are all sealed inside and the tub is full of bagged kits, rebuilders and parts! The Yamaha bike is one of Sam's builds that he gave to me. Nice!! Later-
  6. Nice work so far Rodney. I like this laid down style of roofline as much as the style Roger is doing with his. Nice to have options. What about the idea of removing the B pillar and making it a hardtop. Then your quarter windows are not an issue. I'm curious about how inverting the rear window would look. Later-
  7. Mike, The work you've done so far looks very good! I like the woodgrain inserts in the interior and the body color should darken up a bit with the addition of another coat or two. Great work! Later-
  8. I hope I didn't offend anyone. What I meant was that these were never popular as a custom build starting point. Which I find it a shame because they really don't look bad at all. The reason I built this one as I did was to show how they could be a good starting point for a nice looking custom. I have plans to build another in the future as an even more custom subject. I think that a turn off with kit for most model builders is the way the entire front grill surround is a separate piece requiring quite a bit of fiddling to get to fit right. I included another pic of my build to show, what I feel, is a car with clean lines. Sorry to hijack the thread. Now, back to your regularly scheduled program. Later-
  9. If you can purchase "For Sale" signs from a Hardware or Home supply store they will work for styrene sheets. Later-
  10. Looking great with those body mods. Subtle, yet distinctive. I also like the idea of the Foose Caddy parts. I'm going to have to get a few more of those too. Later-
  11. Nice to finally meet you, Sam, and your son- mask to mask. I enjoyed the brief visit. I put the Yamaha on my China hutch till I can get it in the display case. I'll be posting all of my "Score" here later today when I get time. BTW- that Caddy engine came from that kit so the instructions will help you out. Later-
  12. Looking good so far JR. I think you're right. These seem to be less than remarkable cars but just need to stretch our imagination sometimes. Here is one I built recently. It turned out better than I expected but nothing over the top. Later-
  13. Yep, that definitely took out some of the fat. Looks good but not obvious, unless you know what you are looking at. Can't wait to see the work on the roof. Later-
  14. Wow! What an amazing build! Very clean and well detailed. I love it. Later-
  15. I might have to get in on this too. Time to dig out some of the old mags and stir up some ideas. Later-
  16. Thanks Styro- the paint for the yellow is Testors Custom Lacquer Chrysler PY3 yellow. The white is Testors Classic white with White Lightning over it. The green is Tamiya TS 60 Pearl Green and Testors One Coat Lacquer Emerald Green. Lowlife- Thank you very much. That is high praise when it's difficult to tell the modifications. Glad you like it. I got started on the interior but didn't like it at all. I thought it looked like someone had thrown up all over it. So, this morning I threw it into the Pond to start over. When you look at the picture, I'm sure you'll agree. Later-
  17. Wow! Nice work Jeff. I hope you've been progressing on this. I can't believe this didn't get more responses than one since April 23. Any current photos? Later-
  18. Drive! magazine December 2009. Later-
  19. Thank you! I'll see about getting some of that. Later-
  20. I hope "in progress" ones are fine. I plan to get back on this one as soon as I finish the current two 49/50 Fords I'm on (which should be very soon). The body of this one started as a Revell 32 Sedan. Later-
  21. Beautiful bare metal replication. Can you post some info on how this was done? Thanks. Later-
  22. Do it! I'd love to see what yours turns out like! Later-
  23. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with this. I agree with your "review" of the Revell vs AMT kits. I love the idea of using the best of both on one build. Keeping a close eye on this one! Later-
