That paint is superb! I like this build very much. The wheels are a perfect choice also. I have been wanting to get a few of these to build but I'm not always sure what the car looks like from all angles since the box art doesn't always show the rear. I'll have to look for this kit. Later-

Nice find on the "full detail" kits. Those would be fun to have. Later-

Looking good! Nice looking chassis. I'd say go without the skirts. Later-

I love everything about your build and was hooked through the entire post! Looks great! Excellent details. Later-

Thanks Sam. Today I added some "bolt heads" to the tank. Also, I took some scrap PE, cut it up and bent it to shape to replace the white metal 4 link bracket blobs. I'm also scratching up some 4 link arms. Hopefully it will look much better. Later-

I've got one just like that. I think it is partially started. Looks like a nice kit. I think I may have another from that Museum Piece series. Later-

An incredible(!) mostly brass Hot Rod 1/25th scale replica from Tim Slesak
Modlbldr replied to tim boyd's topic in Model Cars
Stunningly beautiful work. I could examine those pictures for hours. I have wanted to try my hand at doing some parts in brass and this encourages me to get started. I'll have to get a cup of coffee and look through his photos. Thanks for sharing. Later- -
Coming together nicely Sam! Later-

I decided to remove the white metal rods and I will replace them with some tubing that I have at work. It doesn't bend like the white metal does so it will keep its shape over time. Unfortunately there is not a lot of room for the rods to be very long at all but, I suppose that will be ok. Later-

Working on this tonight. Got the fuel tank in yesterday. I need to get some bolt heads around the flange. Tonight I started on the rear suspension. I found some white metal parts that I will need to cut the length of the rods down quite a bit. Just finished making some pockets for the brackets. I still need to box in the recessed area for the rear end. Later-

Thanks Dann! Glad you like it. It got a bit darker once I cleared it though. Thanks much Eric! Glad you think like I do. So, I know this looks a mess right now and I'm starting to feel like I'm taking two steps back. I cut the rear frame rails down to get a bit more clearance for the axle. Not much extra, but every little bit counts. Also removed the fuel tank. I'll replace it with a thin sheet of plastic to replicate a tank in the trunk. Looking to scratch up a triangulated 4-link. Thanks. I'll give it a try. Maybe I'll take the B-W back and get my money back. Later-

So, it may or may not work to remove mold release off of resin. Later-

I've never used this stuff for cleaning resin and was wondering how to go about it. Just spray it on and wash it off with water and a toothbrush or?? Also, I could not find Westley's but bought a bottle of Black Magic brand Bleche-Wite. Same stuff or what? Anybody know? Later-

The perfect mild custom look. Excellent job! Good to see you feeling better and back to building. Later-

Thanks Sam! I'm working on trying to get it there. Massaging the front suspension now and trying to plan out a triangulated 4 link for the rear. Got the dash and seats installed. The interior is finished. Later-

Where can I order rod ends to scratchbuild a triangulated 4 link set-up. Anybody know of any companies to order from? Later-

Thanks guys! Here's where I lose some of you. Here is the rolling stock for my build. Lots of sanding and fitting to get these to work. Although the "woodgrain" in the interior looks close to wood, it is actually the wheel accent color, Testors Bronze. Later-

Got some more craft paint mixed and sprayed the interior this morning. Looks a little like the blue vinyl for B5 blue cars. Been cleaning the glue off of the grille. That didn't work as smoothly as I had anticipated but it will clean off fine. Should have my wheels waiting for me tonight when I get home. Of course, I have to work late tonight. Later-
