I got the interior done this week. Scratchbuilt the center console. Did the BMF and grills today. I've got to find some light blue paint now for the engine. Coming down the home stretch now. Later-

After viewing lghtngyello03's gorgeous blue Raptor, I wanted to start mine but have had to wait to finish (or get close) some other projects. I started by cleaning up and deepening some of the lines on the body and then primed it with Rust-Oleum White primer. In hindsight, I should have used grey because the Tamiya Mica Red was too light. (First pic). So this week I did some trial runs on scraps of plastic and found the combo to give me the shade I wanted. It turns out a light coat of Testors Brilliant Platinum under the Tamiya Mica Red did the trick. I still need another coat of red after some wet sanding. That will happen later this week. Got to go get another can of Mica Red. My plan is for Tamiya Gun metal for the flares and such. Stay tuned. Later-

Nice build of a classic old kit! The colors compliment each other very well. Cleanly done. Later- -
Wow! Another beautiful build! I could look at your builds all day! Later-

That is a gorgeous job you've done, but that's to be expected from you. I've always liked your builds and paintwork. Later-

Sorry to hear that. Not only that you are out that kind of money for those but I had thought about that Lincoln before. What a shame. Hope you can make something nice from them. Later-

Looks good Geoff. That should keep you busy for a week. Today I scratchbuilt a second center console and added some Wizard of O's bezels on the dash of my Tempest. It's much easier to do the bezels before you glue the dash and steering wheel in.....that's why I did it afterwards! I also got some color on the body of my next build- a Ford Raptor. I had already deepened the lines around the fender flares and primed and sanded. The color I first chose was Tamiya Mica Red over white primer, but it wasn't as dark as I wanted. So today I went back and sprayed a coat of Testors Bright Platinum and am now putting the first mist coat of Mica Red. The second pic is what it should look like with the final coats on.

Thanks guys. I wish the red embossing powder had been more red and not so pink. Thanks Rich. I'll have to see if I can find some for future projects. Later-

Just ran through this posting and the work on this is phenomenal! I especially like the body color and the contrast with the VHT black. Looks like you had a similar warpage problem in the engine bay that I had on the Cabriolet that I did a while back. Glad you were able to clamp it into place. Nice work on this project! Later-

This morning's progress. I am missing the center console in this kit but I have one at home in the second kit that I bought. I'll get it in there after this weekend. The next step is a bit of detail painting and some BMF on the body. Later-

I could not find any Tamiya acrylic semi gloss clear so I picked up a can of this. It is Satin Varnish for figure painting. It seems to be a decent alternative. I think that once I get the carpeting ina and the chrome trim done it will look fine. Later-

Time to kick up some scale road dust....and some water mist, too!

I have the Hemi Hydro repop that I narrowed a bit (as far as I got) and I have a sealed repop of the AMT Customizing 3-n-1 boat. I have in mind a nicely polished Chris Craft style boat. Any ideas? Later- -
Thanks David, I may pick up some of those tonight after work. Later-

Thanks guys. David, I painted an extra part (the cheesy toneau cover) to use as an experiment piece. I'm wondering about adding something as a flattener to the Future to tone it down a bit. Gotthe interior set in place. Looks like it will come along nicely with some detail touch ups. Later-

Nice looking build and great modifications. The paint is gorgeous too! Later-

I am SOOO excited! I tried my airbrush to spray Tamiya acrylic flat red on the interior parts. I had read and watched quote a bit of stuff on YouTube about thinning and spraying Tamiya acrylics. Most everything I saw said how finicky it was and recommended their thinner. I thinned my paint about 60/40 with washer fluid and two drops of glycerin and sprayed it at 24 psi. Turned out fine to me. I'll brighten it up with a bit of Future and add some red/black mix of embossing powder for the carpet areas. Later-
