  1. I believe this is what the builder was trying to copy. A kit car called the Markette
  2. There were retailers who had the ability to do that in those days, like large department stores or Sears. Most of what I know comes from where I bought mine which was a local drug store and Benjamin Franklin or other Five and Dime stores. I'm still pretty sure that MPC didn't do that until later. Maybe Tim Boyd could fill us in on that.
  3. No they weren't. I had bought new kits in 1965 that had no wrap. I don't think they shrink wrapped until 68 or so. Before that, they used a bit of tape to seal the cover to the bottom of the box.
  4. Any progress on this model? I really want one.
  5. I don't recall those kits being shrink wrapped. Did that start way back then? I remember 1967 kits being wrapped though.
  6. Nice score. Wish I had the blue Anglia
  7. Another way to look at it...if you had bought a Palmer kit, you'd have really good reason to be disappointed. LOL
  8. OK, I got ya, looked at the linky....whole different dashboard.
  9. No dif in the interior. It's just the lighting that changes it.
  10. I never did. Hung a small golden cross my GF at the time gave me.
  11. Oh! Me too. Now I don't think those were ever sold in the US to our farmers but I have the Porsche, the Duetz-Allis...and the Heller Fergie. I will gladly buy any tractors they deem saleable. Maybe a US version like an International, Ford, or Deere would be considered by Revell.
  12. I was thinking he was thinking of the Cadillacs. I love the Mercedes cars. I have about 10 of those kits.
  13. The 68 Tempest used the OHC 6, don't know if the 69 did, But those cars also would make use of that in some builder's minds. I know I would. Had a friend who had a 68 Tempest and he let me drive it at times. Loved that little six.
  14. If you seen the tractor kits they did, it's similar. I did not realize this was discussed in the Truck Kit section. I have heard no mention of this at all and I'm usually on top of this stiff.
  15. https://www.spotmodel.com/product_info.php?products_id=53548 This is long over due, the second gen VW bus/van/combi.
  16. I actually got to drive one of those in 1982. Things like the TV and the stereo were gone but the body still looked great.
  17. Quote from Mr. Geiger... "Per the original flyer that Okie put out for the "New Johan", it's reasonable to think that the molds for the classics... 1935 Mercedes and 1931 Lincolns still exist." What Lincolns? Do you mean Cadillacs?
  18. I'm glad you wish to restore this. The grille is placed upside down on your model. Just a heads up on that. The emblem is the clue
  19. Russel, I read the info off one of your links on the worthpoint ebay ad. That info puts a lot of info at hand about what the company was and what they made. I read they had a hand in doing a lot of Franklin and Danbury die casts as well. I am surprised that they remained hidden so long. Sounded like a really great company in the toy and collector hobbies.
  20. You got in before I could post...thanks. Your info matches mine.
