  1. No kits under our bed, but everywhere else.........................hmmmmm. Not saying a word.
  2. True Dean. The traffic was heavy and getting to my phone would put myself, my passengers, and other motorists in danger. I'm not quick with the phone cam like most. State Fair park in West Allis had the car craft Nationals....that's where the Batmobile was coming from.
  3. I actually saw the Batmobile in West Allis, Wisconsin driving next to me in traffic.
  4. We recently lost one of the LHSs in my area, but we have another that does things to stay functional. They also have a online presence which helps and they are not over priced. They put the retail suggested price on a sticker along with their own discounted price so you can actually see your savings. They have a OOP shelf of collector kits at decent prices. They stock HO and N trains, Breyer Horses and accessories, HO and larger slot sets, model car kits, truck kits both foreign and domestic and diecast and resin and Detail Master stuff. A armor and military kit selection and Estes rocket sets plus a bunch of paints, adhesives of all kinds and tools. The people running it are knowledgeable and genial. If they don't know something, one of the denizens wandering the aisles will know. The place is always clean too and doesn't smell like mold or ciggies. That is the goodness of Model Empire. I'm sure they have close months financially but I think they will be around a bit. I even see them with booths at car shows.
  5. You said that Reagan said that, and now you don't. It's now a thing neocons (which Reagan wasn't) say according to you. Having met Reagan and have been at his ranch with a friend who was close friends with him, I can say Reagan was not for greed but for people to make their own way without interference from the government. He wasn't perfect by any means but I felt the need to defend. Sorry. There is an excellent book by Peggy Noonan (I think) about his life.
  6. Geez Handley, you think anyone old enough to remember this car is senile? How self righteous of you.
  7. Give me a link to the quote, please.
  8. Traditional, according the H.A.M.B. people who pontificate on such things, is any hot rod following the build styles up to and including 1964. Most trad shows use this as a rule. It pretty much means that anything pre billet, pre fiberglass, pre turnkey builds. They really search out parts from the era to use in their hot rods.
  9. I did. I met Faith and found her very interesting. She had a lot of help from friends to make that movie. Now she's doing a documentary on it's making. I saw the film at the movie house and I enjoyed it immensely. Wifey enjoyed it too.
  10. So I suppose it's OK to hire the meat company to do his killing for him LOL
  11. It was to identify GS Corvettes during a race where numbers were blocked form view of the spotters for the particular team. numbers often were blocked from view by other race cars.
  12. Found a 2005 Impala Police car built up at a rummage. Just pealed off the Huntley Illinois PD stickers. Gonna make a nice family sedan out of this one.
  13. https://www.nmu.edu/archives/node/108 Here are a site to get you to the individual historical societies in the UP.
  14. Well, I had all the counties of the UP (Upper Peninsula) listed for you and you could have emailed all the respective sheriff departments and asked if they new what they were using in 59, but the darned list disappeared in the middle of my researching for you. I did find that the State Of Michigan was fond of Chevrolets in those days and the only pic I found was a 58 Chevy sedan in State Trooper markings. They used a certain blue paint color from 1954 on til today. They would still have been in service in 59.

  17. Very nice collection. I am so happy that they were kept and not to be tossed out like so many are. The family definitely knew of the value, and cherished the memories.
  18. You could order through a hobby shop. They in turn will order from Squadron, the importer for these. I use Panther Hobbies in the Milwaukee area. They are mostly military/armor/flying wingy things seller.

  20. Who's gonna be the first to scratch build this one? https://www.youtube.com/embed/NER9X4_gtYk?feature=player_detailpage
  21. Not really. G scale covers the gamut between 1/32 to 1/22 depending on the manufacturer. All tracks are the same between manufacturers and the track in the kit is a bit wider than G scale. Most buildings, stores, houses kits for G scale are 1/24th scale.
