  1. Their McLaren was also a pretty decent kit of the eponymous Can-Am racer.
  2. Type of car ridden by rock nars and polinitions.
  3. These are the only pics I have. The car may be redone later as it's started to fall apart. I also have the topless parade car and another one in red plastic that appears to be the same tooling but is packaged by a different company. My model is modified to suit what I found to be more realistic with what little pics there were of this car at the time. The engine was a chrome plated lump that I traded out for a Ford engine out of the Otaki T-Bird kit. The chassis was modified with chassis parts from a 1/20th scale GMC pick up truck from Lindberg to solve the toylike problems of the kit chassis. gaping holes from a previous motorized chassis were filled in.
  4. Looking at these WEC cars...they all look the same, well, at least the Nissan and the Porsche do. Becomng like F1 maybe? All those cars look alike to me.
  5. I think the Hirohata Merc by Sam Barris was a very beautifully done car.
  6. Yes, I agree that it should stay the way it is. I would obtain another Merc and the custom bits (57 Chevy kit maybe) and build a newer version to set beside it.
  7. Got a AMT 64 Chevy kit in a raffle from the model car club meeting and bought a Charger kit from Lindberg...modern car.
  8. Awe man, the old Foster Pontiac show. I used to DJ that until they got "Elvis"....LOL
  9. There is a nice photo etch kit by Paragrafix that you should definately get to build the Spy car. Also use the engine from AMT parts pack and a 69 Corvair, much more accurate.
  10. Thanks for the clarification, longbox55. The old brain is getting tired and is confused sometimes. I usually verify with a quick Google but I relied on my memory instead.
  11. The engine was indeed copied from the Chevrolet 6, but I believe the chassis copied the Ford type of the day. Remember that Ford had no IFS like Chevy did in 1934. (Top line Chevy used a solid front axle) The pic from Tamiya clearly shows a solid front axle.
  12. There was an AA found in Eastern Russia. It was quite cobbled up with parts from various Russian and European cars. People were wondering if it was indeed an AA. A lot of people said it was an Airflow, others said an Opel Admiral. It did look like some of the body resembled an Airflow. I myself studied the pictures and decided it was an actual AA from Toyoda that someone had modified with other cars to keep it running and in use. It had some kind of truck frame under it, but that body sure held some of the lines of the AA which are slightly different from an Airflow. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/10/1936_Toyota_Model_AA.jpg?download Yes, that's the one.
  13. I don't know about that Nash. Maybe from the cowl back but the front is way different. Now about that first Datsun, Tamiya?
  14. I think this film is situated in the timeline between the first and second flick
  15. So am I too late?
  16. A Pontiac Aztec looks better than a Nissan Juke.
  17. Oooops i was wrong about my post...deleted.
  18. It's lacqour clear. Different companies use different formulas. 91% Isopropyl alcohol might be your best bet to remove it. Scuf it a little with a scotch brite pad and the other solutions might work.
  19. Memories!! When I spent a year in St. Pete Florida, I worked for a tent evangelist that had a white wagon with a 396 in it. I got to use it for errands. The preacher was probably wondering why he went through a set of tires in one summer. Don't tell the Rev, but I was (cough) racing (cough) it on the street and winning!
  20. Lastweekend at a swap meet, I got offered two 40 Fords, one Revell and one AMT. Both coupes. All for 10 bux. Score!!!! And two IMC/Testor's 48 Fords, one coupe, one ragtop....double score!!! Both for 15 bux.
  21. O M G!!!! That build is just beautiful.
  22. And what does the Stig have to say about all this?

Not in Frank Lloyd Wright's case. He had somewhat interesting ideas as to how his Lincoln was to look.
