  1. Love Clairy Browne & The Bangin' Rackettes. She's from Australia and I met here in Chicago once. Hot lady. Great music.
  2. I'm just learning to watch cricket. I do not understand it yet.
  3. That is a cool thing to get licensed after passing the test in the first try. I guess driver tests are harder than here in the states. Be nice to the young lady and she'll be with you for a long time. Be nice to the GTI and the Ka, and they will be with you for a long time too. When out for a drive in the country, don't pull the old "Dear, the car has run out of petrol" thing...LOL
  4. So the Gordini was made by ESCI as well? Strange...Heller kit, also sold by AMT in a double kit with the Alpine, then sold by ESCI....Impressive. I like the Gordini. I have a Heller one, but the body was short shot and missing part of the body.
  5. I say good for him. The pics are clear enough to see any flaws, and people were willing to bid money. It's a win win situation where someone has a one of one build that NO kit maker or diecast maker ever made.
  6. Article in one of the Hemming's publications. http://www.hemmings.com/mus/stories/2014/07/01/hmn_feature5.html It's alluded that the front bits came from a test mule. Could it be from that wagon?
  7. I have a Chihuahua that will find any part you drop on the floor. It's up to you to catch the little bugger to retrieve the part you need.
  8. Then there was this... http://assets.hemmings.com/story_image/540801-870-0.jpg?rev=2 http://assets.hemmings.com/story_image/540951-130-0.jpg?rev=3
  9. But 50 years from now, they will be cherished buy a certain cadre of collectors as the Edsel and AMC pacer and Gremlin are today.
  10. Yes, now that I finally obtained a decent version of this kit,(no glue bomb) Round 2 will see fit to reissue it. LOL. But i do need the girl (Kissy Suzuki) driver that originally came with the car.
  11. I got an MPC Toyota 2000 GT today in the mail. I've been seeking this one out for a long time. Missing tires but not a hard thing to replace. Also was missing the girl driver figure...that might be a bit harder to find.
  12. I had a rather innocuous 1978 AMC Concord two door coupe. Black on black on black. A beautiful car that spoke to me from the car lot it was being sold from. It had tried to kill me from the first day I bought the car. It got the name "Widow Maker". First day taking it home to reside with it's stable mate, a 1976 AMC Hornet X V8 hatchback. Brakes worked fine from the little dealership but failed the very last time I used the brakes in front of my house. A few days later it was nearly hit broad side by a farmer's truck pulling out of a drive way. During that first winter, you could not take it over 30 miles per hour in the snow, or she would get sideways. I fear she had been in a wreck and had the unibody structure repaired wrong sometime earlier in it's life. The other AMC, my Hornet, never gave me a bit if trouble in all it's time I owned her. BTW, sorry about the leg wound...but chicks dig scars... LOL
  13. This method of buying a model is popular in Europe. Well, at least it started there. There were several builds talked about on Britmodeller.com . D'agastino is the name of the company doing a lot of this and are currently being advertised on the "other" mag's publication.
  14. Pulling for ya, dude! Sounds like yer dad is a bit "tetched" in the head.
  15. That might be my final grail as well. I just acquired a Toyota 2000 GT from MPC. No tires in it but no big deal.
  16. You know what? Who cares. If you like building models that are super detailed, do it. If you enter them into a contest and they win, so what. Don't worry about the haters. They would hate their own mothers if they didn't bring them down some soup into their basement command centers.
  17. Move all model stuff into hobby room. Invader from Doyusha ZZR Spy Car with metal engines Meng Ford truck ICM opel Emhar Bedford truck
  18. I know a lady who owns a 1:1 version hotrodded with a Pinto engine. Twice as much power as the stock engine. I'd love to have a kit like yours.
  19. They still are. Ever see an Escalade or a H3?
  20. But they did get the contract to build the Jeep trailers.
  21. I don't get why people complain about the fact that kids don't build, so therefore they do not see the need for a snap kit. Kids aren't the only ones that like snappers. My wife who is disabled likes to put them together as she doesn't quite handle glue or paint well.
  22. Just asking...have you mentioned Aussie cars to your Japanese Model maker?
  23. I rarely show models on the forum because my building frequency is rather slow. Maybe now with the kids moved out, I finally have space to dedicate to actual building. But I digress...On a social media site with several model pages, a person posted a rather simple but nice build of a car with flame decals. His post was it was his first attempt at using decals. There were some areas that had creases and did not snuggle the curves of the fenders. I just told him about Micro Set and Micro Sol, and to use them on the decals when he applies his next decals. He did not know about these setting solutions and was very grateful I mentioned them. It was constructive, informative and done with respect and courtesy. Every one else said nice car nice car but had no response to the original mention of decal application. It can be done without causing stress or disrespect.
  24. Plymouth at the end of it's life still had the stylized Mayfair logo.
