  1. as well you should be.
  2. Well, I overlooked the faux pas on the "THA", because of the word you did get right.
  3. Thank you thank you thank you for the correct spelling of Voila. Seeing it spelled as WALLA just irks me. Same for using WELP instead of well. You win the internet for the day.
  4. I'm seeing a difference in the front fender. The character line that goes up to the three "vents" could be at a more shallow slope and the badge below it could go forward a smidge. Smidge is a technical term..;)
  5. Pretty much a regional thing...Only at Wanger's Chevrolet. I do recall seeing one around my old highschool. I remember the jingle for his dealership. It went "Jim Wangers, what a great great guy"'The only other black Vega was the Cosworth, which also came in green and in white. The Vega was not the only car wangers created for the dealership, he did a Monte Carlo and a Caprice (or Impala) http://www.mclellansautomotive.com/literature/items/chevrolet/b27638-chevrolet-1972-brochure.php Wangers talks about his LS-W (W for Wangers) program in his book. He bought 25 LS-6 crate engines from Chevy and converted them to low compression hyd. lifter street engines. They did some R&D and used a 1969 SS Chevelle as a test car running low 12s at 113 mph. Some were sold as crate engines to replace a customer's worn out high compression big block and some went into new cars. It wasn't legal for a dealer to disconnect air pollution devices on a new car so Jim would have the owner drive the car around the block and bring it in as a new customer in the service garage. He had them sign an affidavit saying the car was for off road use and they also had to pick up their new big block car on a trailer. A young couple bought a 1973 350 Nova and ordered the LS-W 454 conversion using Jim's rules of signing the affidavit and picking up the car on a trailer. The couple was divorced 6 months later and the wife got the car. After she went to register the car it failed her states inspection and she went to a lawyer. Her lawyer told Jim to buy back the car or put the 350 back in with all the pollution control equipment. Jim said no and they reported him to the EPA. They used the Super Stock magazine article and the fact that the cars had radios and other options that proved to the EPA they were not off road only vehicles. The EPA made a big deal out of it in the press and fined Wangers Chevy $500,000.00 and told him to fix the woman's 73 Nova. Wangers later settled with the EPA for $500.00 and fixing the car but also agreed to stop doing engine conversions. The EPA did something similar to Motion Performance in 1974. I guess President Nixon didn't want anyone breaking the law.
  6. I think Kawai is the Japanese word for cute or adorable.
  7. Just a beautiful build. Great to see hobbyists from other countries. Especially Russia. I certainly wish some Russian company would do some scale Russian automobiles in kit form. I only find the die cast ones.
  8. QUOTE>>>A most important tip to men is to get your wallet out of your rear pocket. You are knocking your spine out of alignment by sitting at a tilt. I keep my wallet in my front right pocket. Absolutely correct. Feel much better since I have moved my wallet many years ago. Plus it makes it harder for pick pockets.
  9. Thanks people! I will check in with Model Empire when I get into Milwaukee sometime this week. Gotta have it.
  10. Have not seen the 1/32nd scale Ranchero at the LHS yet. Any word on it? I have the reissued Avanti, an original T-Bird in the queue. Would like to see their Mustang fast back and the Indy car come out too.
  11. Oh sure, bring that up will ya? After I just spent stupid money for an unmolested 65. LOL
  12. Imma thinkin a Buick V6 turbo in mine.
  13. I had no issues with my Cosmo decals, but I could tell they were stubborn coming off the paper. I decided not to chance the yellow side stripe and just painted that one on.
  14. I owned one of those sorry diesels. Olds Delta 88 sedan, not sure of the year anymore. The previous owner buggered the dash so bad you had to go through a Batman style routine to start it. It did not work the normal way through the ignition switch. Turn key to ON position, flip glow plug toggle, flip fuel pump toggle, turn key to crank engine, and when started flip glow plug toggle to OFF. Woe be to the person who would forget that sequence. Of course no one could steal the car, and believe me they tried.
  15. And now we are getting a stock roof height 48 Ford coupe from Revell in a Police type issue.
  16. BMWs, especially the ones I encounter on the I-94 between Chicago and Milwaukee
  17. My step daughter used to have a xB. I drove it a couple of times...it was OK but not as cool as my HHR Panel
  18. I think that referred to drag class and not the brand or model.
  19. I got a 53 Chevy kit and a sedan delivery body and 1954 grille. Also got 1965 Monaco kit unmolested condition. I got the Round2 Honda Trail 70 kit and the Joey Logano Fusion NASCAR snapper and a proper exhaust pipe for it. The kit has pipes coming out both sides which they haven't done in ages. I neeed the chrome inset for the tail light and two of the stock wheel covers for the Monaco
  20. I was never one to get rid of the old style anything unless it broke down. I had the biggest CRT type TV you could get which was about 42 inches I believe. The GF's daughter wanted a 60 inch flat screen and gave us their two year old 55 inch flat LED TV. Wow, what a difference. The old CRT TV serves as the outdoor kennel for a St. Bernard dog. Remove guts, install wooden floor, place outside. No, I do not own the dog, it's a neighbor's dog.
  21. Too keep that javvie company, put Wisconsin State Patrol decals on it. It's already the correct dark blue metallic WSP cars are. You would have to paint the grille flat black...but I'd keep it chrome.
