  1. If you want to go larger than 1/16, then I'd agree with the rerelease of the '69 Camaro coming out soon, or the Bel Air if you can find reasonably cheap.
  2. I'm going to go with a (AMT) 1973 Mercury Cougar.
  3. Where'd you get yours from?
  4. I'm pretty sure the '69 only came with bucket seats.
  5. True it probably is mostly the cladding that's the issue, though it also seems that many have issues getting the front grille/hood to sit properly as well.
  6. This is the first Cannonball CBP that I've been in and I'm already excited to see the theme for the next one!
  7. Great build ruined by kit fitment issues. It seems like every build I see, including mine, has issues getting the body cladding and the bed to sit properly. It doesn't help that fitting the cladding involves a bit of guessing. Paint color and finish is excellent, the taillights are an interesting touch, and the bedliner certainly adds to the realism!
  8. Ding ding, we have a winner! OT: Even though I know the correct pronunciation, I still say "Will-eez" since whenever I see the word "Willy" pronounced it's always "Will-ee" rather than "Will-ih". Yes it is a name, but it's just how I grew up saying it.
  9. Best part about them was the fact that since it covered the taillights, they had to graft another set on the camper unit. So when you look from the side, you can see two sets of taillights.
  10. Its still on the workbench, just taking a break for a bit since theres so much modifications I have to make to update it to a '98 model. Should be starting on it again after Christmas.
  11. I did a search on what was used on the 1:1 and it seems no one is really sure. The general consensus is that it's an "argent silver", and one guy said that his was painted with Krylon Dull Aluminum. If it's the 1/25 scale kit you're building, I'm sure most silvers would work just fine.
  12. Here's a good reference I found when doing research for a build. http://www.camaros.org/exterior.shtml#1969Grille
  13. Indycal is the site I bought mine from. These are the ones I used: http://www.indycals.net/decals/tires/bptiredecals.html I went with the 1/24 scale decals, though you could possibly go with the 1/20 if you want them a bit larger. Here's a pic for an example (I had to switch sides of the tires with the decals so that's why they aren't sitting as well as they should be). If you're doing them on the Italeri tires, it's easiest to put them on the side with no sidewall details.
  14. I just got myself a set of larger scale F1 tire decals.
  15. Where I am, there is a small selection of good hobby shops left. When I was younger, I knew of 2 that I always wanted to visit when we were in the area. One was a Hobbytown, the other I can't recall the name. They both had excellent kit selections, though I believe maybe the HT more so. A little later on, the one closed leaving HT as the only one I knew. Soon after that, the HT closed and I found another one closer to where we lived. That one also had a great selection of kits, so I would go quite a bit. Then a few years back I found a store even closer to me (King Kong Hobbies) that has an okay selection (much better than the Micheal's in the area, Walmart has no kits, and there are no Hobby Lobbys here (though the one I've been to in Michigan had the same selection as Micheal's)), but still not as good as the HT. Of course, just recently, that HT closed (or moved, I'm not positive on that) and another opened in the same town, but down the road and in a smaller shop. This shop has a small selection similar to King Kong, albeit with a few more options. Luckily for me though, I found two other places in the Cities that have good reviews, Hub Hobby and Scale Model Supplies (the latter of which has the largest kit selection in a store that I've ever seen). They are both a bit of a drive, a little over a half hour, but I do enjoy going to them from time to time. The thing is though, they don't usually have the kits I want to build, unless it's a newer kit or perhaps one I didn't know about. Most of the time I'm finding kits online that appeal to me (mostly Japanese kits and older AMT kits). It's really a draw as to where I get kits from, since on the one hand local stores allow you to see the kit in person and take it home right away, while on the other hand online purchases allow you maybe a better selection, lower costs (especially with eBay), and the ability to purchase in the comfort of your own home. Just my observations.
  16. Just looked at their website, and they have it listed as a preorder right now.
  17. Yet another case of "why didn't they make a full detail version of that kit?"! That looks excellent! (Aside from the exhaust issue )
  18. Perhaps they have early stock, perhaps they made a mistake like Hobbylinc.
  19. I figure its always best to assume the worst and be surprised when you find they did in fact include them.
  20. There's no mention of the custom wheels from past issues, so I would assume they're out.
  21. For some reason I'm not seeing these pics on their Facebook page. It is unfortunate that they didn't bother to include larger 4-wheel disc brakes to go with the larger wheels.
  22. The descriptions I've seen say that the stock wheels and tires are included.
  23. Yeah you'd think that's the one part they would want to show off.
  24. I do on occasion, mostly when its a poorer build I did and its a kit that's hard to find now. I also will occasionally pull parts off older builds.
  25. Ah ok, last I checked there they still had the drawing posted.
