  1. The blue and your current wood color make a nice contrast. Looks great so far!
  2. Perfect colors!
  3. Yeah, I agree that paint prices are a scandal. But I'd willingly pay a premium price if Pactra would re-release their old line of candy colors (I'm going way back, here). Anybody remember Candy Root Beer? Candy Parisian Green? Candy Wild Cherry? Candy Indian Turquoise? Candy Sapphire Blue? Candy Strawberry? Candy Lime Green? Candy Apple Red? Beautiful colors...I've still got models painted with those paints, and I'd love to see 'em come back (fat chance). Anyway, micro rant over.
  4. I can hear the Beach Boys in the background...
  5. I lived in Lubbock, and had no idea he was a local boy. Very nice model--where'd you get the decals? Personally, I'd like to see more pics; maybe the underside. Great work!
  6. Great car, great model!
  7. WOW!!
  8. Nobody's perfect... ...right?
  9. Wow!! That's a beauty. How about some more details? Body, paint, decals? Great work!!
  10. Any word on the pilot of the smaller plane? Looks grim...
  11. Looks good! I think it's neat to be able to model someone's car, either another persons or your own. Gives the model special meaning...
  12. For a project, I went looking today for Testors Boyd enamel spray paint, specifically the Bright Green color. In the format I've known it, it's apparently discontinued and long gone. Does anybody know if it's been repackaged and/or now called by a different name? I guess it's been a while since I've last used it...

    41 Willys

That is very cool. An excellent rendition, and a really nice paint job!

    1969 Camaro

Really nice looking Camaro, and you can't beat green for a '69 Camaro. Great work!
  15. Good gosh, we're talking about a CAR MODEL magazine here (and a really good one, at that), not the Wall Street Journal. Just about everything in the magazine is not time sensitive, so what difference does it make when it arrives? I just sit back and enjoy when I receive one (and months later I'll be digging around for it because of a relevant article).
  16. Sucker looks ready to race! Keep the pics coming!
  17. If you're looking for a ringer for your next vote, how about a Ford EXP? They're just downright gruesome.
  18. Those look kinda like the MPC Monza flares to me.
  19. Other people may have imagined that modification, or seen one, but I never have, and I think my jaw dropped when I saw it. It just looks so good, and so right, that it gobsmacked me! Gotta give a big tip of the hat to that one! How about some more photos?
  20. I've gotten really close matches to the Ford burgundy color with Testors burgundy red. I've used Testors light blue as an undercoat, and the result is remarkable. I own a Heritage Burgundy '63 Falcon Sprint, and it's amazing how similar the painted model is to the real car.
  21. I like it, and I'm looking forward to the finished product. Where'd you find the headers? What color do you have in mind?
  22. For businesses in your town, try a trip to the local public library. Most central libraries keep back copies of city directories, or sometimes even old local phone books. If you're lucky, you'll find old logos along with phone numbers for your graphics.
  23. Beautiful color, great paint job, fine work. Job well done! What kind of paint did you use?
  24. Goin' right now to dig out "Rock and roll animal" and put it on...
  25. Really good looking, with a great exterior/interior combo. Congrats!! Sits perfect, too.
