  1. So far, I don't see any car mentioned in this thread as a "sports sedan".
  2. This is amazing at HO scale!
  3. Besides, Chryslers are Italian cars.
  4. That shift knob has put me on my knees in adoration. )) Totally enjoying you taking us through this wonder .. ")
  5. That thing's been a working! Very well done!
  6. Ricardo has removed the body from frame and sprayed it with red primer. Odds are it's going to stay like this for the Run. This guy has NO taste! The local Ferrari afficondos are screaming "SACRILEGO!". Ricardo just laughs and throws the makeshift fuel tank into the trunk for a test fit. The body was primed to check areas needing more bodywork .. or distressing. Been studying alluminum corrosion. There was a leaking wine vat above it during all these years in storage. Most of the other parts have been cleaned up too. I started fabricating a fuel tank for extra capacity to put in the trunk, but. and knowing better, started it while the body was wet and inaccessible for fitting. My imagination went wild and the result wouldn't fit with the body .. no way-no how. So I spent another half day cutting it down and now it fits. I found a set of American style mags and tires for the rear to replace the missing Ferrari wheel .. pics next time maybe.
  7. In this day and age, Tony Bennett is a freak
  8. looking REALLY good! I have one sitting for as long that needs the BMF ehhe
  9. Looks really nice. Don't feel bad about plug wires .. I had a Porsche 924 that had a Callaway Turbo on it .. was one of his test mules and also had a water injector installed to help keep cool. The exhause manifold was cherry red when it was running and the plugs were between the exhaust outlets. The wires were red and they came apart every time plugs were changed. I tried once using some red heat resistant wires but they melted in no time. I had to get new plug wires straight from Calaway all the time. Sometimes you just can't avoid it .. the factory turbo reversed the location of the plugs to other side of engine .. eheh
  10. That's such a hot rod! Looking fantastic .. wonderful paint job!
  11. That would be really cool! They are pretty slab sided and would be a fairly simple scratchbuild. Just have to lacate a tank with the right idlers add treads.
  12. The L Head 6 is from the AMT '41 Plymouth Coupe. But I've been dressing it up quite a bit for display outside the box.
  13. My mind is rollimg over all the possibilities!
  14. That it is .. destined to go in, or more likely displayed next to, a replica of my first car .. a '51 Plymouth.
  15. I think it's a tee shirt now .. with a gold plated watch picture on it.
  16. Just get the welder out and whack some old structural shapes together to fit ..
  17. Now I don't feel bad at all about my non-finishing thanks to you all! My reasons weave all through what everyone has said .. and we al seem to be in the same boat .. and a GOOD one it is!
  18. I'm really impressed at the fit of the doors when down .. awesome build!
  19. What a magnificent looking truck!
  20. Please don't tell us who or where that would be!
  21. The flat top fenders on the sedan look like they're begging to have a strip inserted to widen them ... after chopping the top .. and .. and .. hmmmmm
  22. oh yes .. Hush Puppies .. I lost my brass brush and been using a tooth brush to clean. Will have to stop at the shoe store. Been trying to figure out where to find one .. eheh thanks Joe!
  23. I'm well below average, but having fun and I work on something every day and fully enjoy it .. when I feel like it. That's a hobby ... "When a kit's built, you have nothing to build" Modeling is ALL about building, not finishing as fast as you can.
  24. There are a number of various sanding shapes and tools available. Try searching "sanding" or similar at Micro Mark. Many times I just make a sanding stick that will do a specific job. Recently I had a frame with ejector pin marks and raised text to be removed in small flat areas . .a common problem. The ejector pin recessed areas were filled and I made a sander using a paper punch, sandpaper, a wood dowel and double stick foam used for wall hanging. It should be obvious how these were put together, I believe. This principal works for many areas not accessible to common sanding sticks.
  25. Good to see Sam out in AZ .. and out-stocking everything else!
