This is '50 Plymouth from R&R I got to turn into a '51 that was my first car. It is a nice body of a rare subject. Here's a MCM link to a post I made with photos of the kit.

More on Molotow pens
Foxer replied to smhardesty's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I too wanted to try chroming a bumper and I just happened to have some TR4 bumpers in gloss black ready for Alclad. They've been sitting over a year waiting fo me to do the dreaded Alclad. It's having to do a perfect gloss black that keeps me from a lot of Alclad ... the Alclad goes on easy for me. So, this is the front bumper. The paint wasn't perfect and I didn't do a lot of prep work, I just wanted to test it and strip later if needed. I did the tight corners first with a 1mm and used the 2mm and 4mm to see how each did on a large area. I'm pretty much sold on using these pens on "large" pieces. The ink flows well and everything levels off better than any paint I ever used. It also covered the black paint like it was white! After this success I sanded the rear bumper to about 2400 grit and am waiting for it to dry more before handling for photos. -
I was going to ask about dust, but looks like you handled that! Definitely need more shelves.

That really looks good! where are you getting window cranks from? I need some for a project

That's a great looking build of it. It's great when you can find a kit close to one you owned. I've found every car I have owned, including my wife's. They give me pleasure, but not finishes ... have about 8 done and a few dozen still waiting.

Thinks are now moving WAY too fast for me! Was above 90 yesterday in the Berkshires and today ... been out soaking up the sun! But, I tried the Molotow chrome pen on a bumper to see how it comes out. I like it, but maybe I should sand smoother ... debating that. The bumper was painted a gloss black ready for Alclad. Shows how good these pens cover. Looks like the left side needs to go up a speck. The interior side panels need some detailing. These are kit pieces. There are PE brackets and handle for to door pull. The crank and open handles are going to be replaces .. just too open with a vert. I need to find something close ... anyone got a lead after looking at the 1:1 photo below?

All the black trim on this Legacy was done with Black BMF about 20 years ago. It is thicker but went on fine and is still stuck!

Your detailing makes this pop!

You're bad, David! I do agree with you and I have a Sedan that I thought about re-doing it, but my building history since coming back has been dismal, though totally enjoyable for me! I know I can paint acceptably now, but some pieces from my old parts boxes like the rear fender scoops and the low elongated grill would have to be scratch-built. Icould also do the chop better ... I just aligned the rear edges and stretched the A posts forward, no cuts and splices. I just figured I'd never finish it

This was the culmination of my 8 year model building years ending when I was 16. The model was thrown out when I moved everything of mine from my Mother's attic to start a life of my own in the Berkshires. I've been sorry of that day ever since. It was build specifically for LHS Contest, entirely over the previous year ... probably my fastest car build! There were some beautiful paint jobs there, sure to beat my blobby Candy Green paint. I was in Boy Scout Camp for the end of the contest and my Dad had to pick it up for me. It won 1st in the Custom Class (!) and the shop owner had said it was up for Best in Show, but lost because it wasn't "roadable". This was a huge disappointment for me as I had built it as a Show Custom and had used every trick I knew to lower the car! It scaled to 48" high with top chop, sectioned, channeled and 13" wheels. It was the most advanced bodywork I had ever done. I found 2 bad photos, but one needs to be re-scanned larger. I also found the hood, the only thing left. It does show the bad Candy paint (which I did the day before the show) and the striped corduroy I used for the interior and underside floor panels, each strip 2 cords wide. and one wheel survived. They were 13" to lower the car more! This one made me feel like a builder, not just an assembler.

In my 60 years I've never applied any liquid to a model that just flowed so well to itself ... it is seamless in addition to it's magical chrome properties! Yes, it doesn't dry as fast as Metalizers ... I just treat it like regular paint and it can be handled in a day or two. The dehydrator sounds like a good idea.

I finished a Subaru project (!) and it's time to tidy this TR4A up! I used a Molotow chrome pen on the 3D Printed Turn Signals. The chrome is smooth and shiny ... these pens are a heavy weight addition to my arsenal! I just clipped them in place for a photo to see how they look. I used a sharpie to color the orange lens, but There is a clear conical light cone right at the front. I'm considering just some white paint to add contrast. I've used various clears on chrome headlights for contrast, but I think these are just too small. The lights are less than 1/16 diameter. Other suggestions would be welcome. The body work is done and this may see some paint soon!

1963 Porsche 356 Carrera------Update! 5/22/17
Foxer replied to MrObsessive's topic in WIP: Model Cars
This will be a Save, for sure. I love these 356 kits, with a couple here waiting on me. It will be a pleasure watching. -
Very nice

I took one apart not long ago. I remember it coming apart pretty well. It's got a warped roof that I can't fix and is a year older. A few pics of the pieces might help.
