Best spray paint match for Ford Acapulco Blue?
Foxer replied to Hotrod 97's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I build mostly models of the 1:1 cars I've owned and have been using Paintscratch.com for many years and the colors are perfect. They now supply paint in spray cans, which I like as less work and perfect color. You should have no problem finding the exact paint. -
Great idea and well done build!

Been here enjoying your bodywork.

Very cool. I like building all the cars I've owned and sometimes die-casts are the only way. Now to find a '72 Volvo 145 ... eheh

Hi Charlie. Athol, eh? Isn't that where Ft. Devens is? where I was stationed waiting for my Army medical discharge. It is wilderness out there! eheh You know I had am engineering/architectural consulting business here in MA and I can only say it's not worth it trying to preserve something that didn't work well to start with, it's just what they had available. I know everything is money, but you'll just lose more if you try to keep horsehair plaster. Tear it out, INSULATE and drywall it back. Do it a room at a time to keep costs down and if you know someone that can do it, all the better.

I'm sure it can make the clothesline. Very well done!

I use most all the above methods but I have to make my original plates for cars I've owned. Acme does work if I don't have a photo I can print. The plate below was printed on decal paper and applied to metal from a soda can for thinness. I cut it out crudely trying to simulate a battered plate.

keeps looking better and better!

The GTI was pretty much as you say ... it broke loos and spun and chirped when really getting into it on dry roads. I never felt torque steer all the time I had it .. it IS an amazing front wheel driver. All Golf R's are AWD and the new Dynamic Chassis Control, IMO, gives it a Porsche-like ride between comfort and fast. My wife refused to ride in the GTI but likes the R .. go figure.

It's too late for me as I already did my Lee Tribute a few years ago .. my daughter's Plymouth Reliant K Kar! Will anyone do something NOT a Mustang or Viper!
-
I like you're thinking! I had a '67 TR4A long ago when it was only 2 years old. Your TR6 looks great! And, I just sold my '16 GTI for a 19 Golf R two weeks ago. The R IS the fix for all that front wheel spinning on the GTI. It feels like a different car and I'm keeping it! ))

The pickup is looking more and more how I was envisioning the color since way back. )) -
freezing when Uploading Photos

That worked, Guess I just have to modify how I get from Fotki now. Thanks Michal -
haha ... got that right. Just down the Green from you in Pittsfield MA. With the extension on this maybe I can finish ... might be as hard as the 1:1 P2P

I just traded my 3 year old VW GTI for a 2019 VW Golf R. I was tired of the front tires spinning every time a started from a standstill. 220 hp is still too much for FWD. Everything else about the car I loved, except for the FRD getting me up my snow covered drive. The Golf R has all wheel drive, the cure for everything GTI! It also has another 70HP from the same 2 liter Four. As usual, VW has made this more than the sum of it's improvements and the much tightened suspension is more road compliant than the GTI was ,, how do they do this? .. oh.. Active Suspension is how.

freezing when Uploading Photos
Foxer replied to Foxer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I use Firefox, latest version and Windows 10. I'll try Chrome but I don't want to leave Firefox for something so simple to do. edit: I tried uploading from Fotki using Chrome and it doesn't upload gets stuck in a queue. I was able to upload directly from my photo editor usine Copy function. Using Copy Image function from Fotki like forever in the past doesn't work from either browser -
One of the true car guys that made it happen! RIP
-
I expect this is all me, but when I Paste an image that I Copied Image from my Fotki account it goes into the upload queue and seems to stop. I let it sit 5 mins. on a 500kb file. This all started soon after the last software update, which I understand didn't work. It seems like this has happened before and was a simple fix, so I ask all you again! ))
