  1. I've only had that problem with the XF-56- I'll add another reccomendation for keeping a BB in the jar. Don't bother brush-painting with XF-56 either- it seems to 'prefer' being airbrushed after a nice thorough mixing. I've never had any problems with separation with any other Tamiya color, though.
  2. Why did I say Barney when I clearly meant Otis, anyway?
  3. I don't think they had PCP in '57. Drunks were probably the most common 'druggies' back then, and having a drunken Barney sitting right next to you as you cart him off to the pokey would be sort fo fun, and surely liven up your shift a little bit. And if he got out of line, he's RIGHT THERE, well within stun gun range. Wait. They didn't have stun guns back then, did they...
  4. Tom Coolidge (Promolite 2000) is casting the club sedan.
  5. I bought this kit just for parts... but after seeing yours and how nicely it turned out I'm thinking I might actually try building it.
  6. Nice to hear Ed's keeping Drag City going! I'm hoping someone will do a convertible body- or at least just the interior side panels and backseat. (I can always chop off the roof myself. )
  7. Well, depending on 'quality of workmanship'... On a serious note, I'd be very interested in some workable Capri stuff myself, so I'm hoping somebody can get things going for ya!
  8. Roger- what I said about the '72 T-Bird applies to that Comet as well.
  9. Could be, but the average person isn't very knowledgable about '70's semi names, and thus probably wouldn't even think about a GMC cabover...
  10. I don't care when, why, or how... but that one MUST get finished!
  11. Here's one more... if you are talking about a Chevy Astro, you don't need to refer to it as an 'Astro van'. I'm not going to confuse it with the Astro coupe or Astro Cabriolet. Astro will do, thanks!
  12. Looks like an old coworker of mine's '78 before he restored it.
  13. Sounds like me. The more I price out new (or even used and less than five year old) trucks, my beat-up old F-250 keeps on looking better.
  14. Engine is done and pretty much all that's left for the '48 are the piddly last-minute parts and details.
  15. Or the fenders. Good news is if you have a Monogram '40 and some '36 Ford fenders, you'd be well on your way to making a '38 if you wanted to do a ton of work. Which I guess isn't good news, merely so/so news.
  16. Thanks for posting these! I've always wanted one of these trucks, believe it or not.
  17. That week's weather report doesn't look too promising...
  18. Not a Chevy guy at all, but that Advance Series pickup needs to be built!
  19. I might need to give that a try- I've used Testors Dullcote, which does a pretty good job of holding it in place on the model, but there always seems to be that 10% that wants to flake/rub off later on.
  20. I not only was allowed to behold them as a child, I puttered around a bit in my father's '47 Ford truck, which was powered by a '51 Ford 226. Yeah, it left a mark on me.
  21. 1. Aston Martin DBS 2. 1969 Mercury Cougar Eliminator 428/4-speed 3. 1952-3 Hudson Hornet with the 7x engine package 4. Factory Five Shelby Cobra (the replica instead of the real car for 'practical' reasons). 5. '53 Ford F-100 Panel Truck Current vehicles- '94 F-250, '89 Ranger, '67 Fury (project), '40 Dodge VF-131 (project)
  22. Love how this one is turning out! I need to track down a set of those Woodlites.
  23. That, and some of it is faintly molded- but it's not too big a deal. Keep at this project- I've got one of these that stalled some time ago and I need a little inspiration to get back at it!
  24. Great! Next time I feel like taking an 800 mile road trip I'll hit up the nearest Ollie's.
  25. In case you were curious, here's Ken's Flathead six...
