  1. Krylon gold might be a close match- I plan on trying some to see how it looks applied on the engine.
  2. Todd- I hate you for beating me to making up tuck and roll interior panels! Dominik- I think yours is the first Hornet kit I've seen painted black. The metal trim looks great.
  3. I think that particular engine is underscale, compared to other 1:25 Ford small blocks I've seen. And I've got quite a few 1:25 small block Fords.
  4. Unless you had an on-board compressor of some kind, maybe driven off a road wheel. Something to keep the tank pressurized as you drove. LIke OPEC's ever gonna let THAT happen.
  5. Possible, but if I recall, those manifolds in that kit were really, really, reeeeeeleeeeeeey narrow.
  6. No, no Kammandant Lee. (But thanks for the idea... ) Instead of a Dixie flag on the roof it will have a big spike. And hey, you'd be a smiling Trabant too, if you escaped the Iron Curtain and made it to a custom car shop! I would imagine.
  7. Yep, this does it. I'm buying the next Surfite kit I see!
  8. The hearse is probably for an AMT Ecto kit- it had the fins molded separately.
  9. I love it when you get a shredded magazine, and they put it in an envelope that says "We Care". I've had pretty good experiences with the USPS. For an organization that's perpetually bleeding red ink, they seem to do okay as far as getting packages from point A to B goes.
  10. I'm all for a split Beetle in 1:24/5 scale, but I'd really like to see a Thing kitted first. Reworking a Hasegawa Kubelwagen just isn't really workable.
  11. Looks to me like a pretty much straight repop of the SWC/Mazmanian kits with different wheels and tires, though that might be a pic of the actual car on the box. What's up with the motorcycle mirror tacked onto the door? If it is a modified reissue of the SWC/Maxmanian kits (which it likely will be, I'd assume), I'll still buy quite a few of them. Love this kit!
  12. A little too shiny. Nevertheless, I do dig it.
  13. Binder? You know that's an International, right? Dig the truck, Mr. Bad. The 1:1 and the replica.
  14. I think parts By Parks did some Starburst wheel covers at one point, but I'm not sure. They might just be plain smooth ones. I HAVE seen some spun aluminum 1:25 Starburst covers, I just can't think of who made them for sure. About the closest I've seen in kit form are the fluted discs in the Studebaker Avanti kit, but they're just different enough in appearance to be a no-go if you want the Starburst look.
  15. Sweet. Might need to pick one up just for that engine. Always wanted to throw together a hot rod with a European four-banger for power.
  16. Ah, Scale-Master decals. What's the name of the guy who makes those...? On a serious note, though, I do have to say the chassis/drivetrain detail is pretty impressive for such an oddball kit, and the detailing you did really makes it jump. Never really thought much of this kit, but I might just have to pick one up now.
  17. Wow! Surfite fever all of a sudden! Guess I'll have to check out Mark's now as well- but I really like this one too. Nicely built and with an interesting diorama background to boot. Gotta ask- is the lady part of the kit?
  18. DISREGARD THAT LAST POST- Now I get it... http://www.vsrnonline.com/bdr_ads/Beatnik.jpg
  19. Okay... huh? This Beatnik Bandit kit? I ask because I have several issues of this kit, and NONE of them have an MII front suspension, nor a one-piece frame. Was there more than one version of this kit or something? That and the 1:1 Beatnik Banit was built in 1961.... meaning it's way too early for an MII unless it was retrofitted later.
  20. What kind of engine is that?
  21. Very cool so far. Love that JF body- has the styling of a '34 but it's Model T bite-size. A perfect body for an Altered drag car!
  22. Not to spit hairs, but being Ford-based, I think it should be a RANCHERO, not a CAMINO. And yes, that is the only 'negative' thing I have to say about it. This is one of those models that's just beyond cool in every way, from the craftsmanship to the actual design. It's one of those models you'd love to see someone 'replicate' in full scale.
  23. Revell's 32 Fords- but I actually build those as well. Never have (likely never will) build the '66 Pro Street Nova, but I will raid it for parts.
