Yeah- the front axle is pretty weak, but the axle from the '27 kit (no metal axle running through it) can be made to work on this kit without much effort.

I will say that I have used the Testors Acryl line, and have had mixed results. Like Joseph said- they are fantastic for brush-painting small pieces, but airbrushing them can get a bit iffy, no matter what you do. For the price you paid, though, even if they don't turn out to work for what yiou have in mind, you aren't out as much money as you would have been at full price.

Yes, and I do remember that one. But the car is still visibly attached to the dirt berm it is jumping from. What I was thinking about was having the car completely clear of the ground, perhaps suspended on a mirror, or possibly with monofilament line.

Wanted a wacky paint scheme for mine, so I thought why not go with an actual hornet pattern scheme? I painted the body a light green to represent the 'original' color, then went over that with black primer and yellow paint to create the paint job.

I would like to see a diorama with the cars suspended up over the ground. Like an old 'Tournament Of Thrills' scene or an (gulp) airbourne General Lee. I've seen mirror surfaces used by aircraft modelers, where the plane is cut in half and secured to the mirror base to create the illusion of a plane in flight. I'm wondering if the same thing could be applied to a diorama depicting a jumping car.

Michigan has an accent. And no, we don't all sound like Dauber from Coach. Listen to a post-game interview with Tom Izzo, or catch an airing of Nights With Alice Cooper. Definite Michigan accents. In fact. those two guys pretty much sound the same.

Pronouncing AMT.... I sill haven't mastered spelling it. Ditto MPC. How about this- Willys is actually pronoucned "Willis" as in Bruce Willis, or 'What you talkin' bout' Willis'. Thing is so many people pronounce it 'Willies' even the experts say it that way, otherwise nobody knows what they're talking about.

For me, it all started with an innocent little 1:32 scale Monogram snap together Fox Mustang. It's just snowballed from that point on.

I've had slightly better luck with Bing, but yeah, normally the search engines are my first choice. But there are some times where just skipping to maloo and asking the experts is the best course of action.

Added a half-hearted GM subframe swap to bring down the nose. Dredged up some Chevy Rally wheels from the parts box, and plucked some skirts from a '49 Ford.

I think you are thinking of the Lark- I remember reading an old SAE article by Rick Hanmore and he mentioned he thought it was a bit closer to 1:24. As far as this one, I'm not totally certain, but it is listed as 1:25 and it appears at least close to that.

I think that's a bit different- that's more of a 'dual-branded' product. The earlier Model King issues by AMT and Lindberg had their respective manufacturers 'brand' on the product along with Model King's, this will still be labeled with the Moebius AND Model King kits. Model King is merely the distrubutor, just like Testors in the case of their version of the Charger.I wouldn't consider the arrangement regarding the Charger kit as odd, although for somenoe who's new to the hobby or not as knowledgeable about who produces what, it has the potential to be pretty confusing.

Yeah- I was really stoked when I found the coupe with the front end sheet metal off, then I stumbled across the stripped convert unibody... wow! Dave- not sure if the panels bolted on. I know Studebakers of the same vintage had bolt-on body panels, but I have no clue about the Hudsons. I was really blown away by those inner fender housings, though!
