  1. Testors enamels in spray cans are best left to collect dust on the shelf, for the most part. There's no consistency. Some colors lay down well and dry quickly, others are orange-peely to beat the band and take 96 years to dry (I don't believe the gloss black ever truly dries... ). The Lacquers and Model Master stuff is great, as are the One Coat colors, but on the whole, I'm suprised Testors still even bothers making spray enamels. I have to wonder how many modelers were scared away from the hobby forever by terrible Testors paint and putties.
  2. Funny... one of my local shops carries it in stock, the other has ordered it for me on several occasions. At any rate, glad to hear the G-Bucket will be a done deal... some day.
  3. Tim- love the G-Bucket, I'd hate to see it stall over a cool detail like that!Check out Ma's Resin- he sells a sheet of 200-some resin bolt heads in various sizes, just slice 'em off and glue 'em on! Plastruct also makes lenghts of hexagonal rod that could be cut into pieces to create bolts.
  4. Could be done with a little tinkering- in fact I think I tried it a few years back on a project I ended up abandoning for no good reason. Though if I recall, the front diff is on the opposite side of where a Ford front diff would be (could be wrong there).
  5. Indeed they are, or so I hear. Can't wait for that one either!
  6. Heck, I'd be happy if they just fixed that annoying pig-nose grille on the existing '70 kit! There must be something tough to duplicate about the '69/'70 Mustang nose in scale- except those rare old AMT kits, they're ALL wrong, even those pricey Danbury die casts.
  7. I JUST downloaded the latest version of Internet Explorer, and figured out how to get it working. Anyway, I've said I'll buy the hardtop, warts and all, and I'm thinking I'll be having a droptop Falcon in my future, too. I just want to see what Gregg does with THIS one.
  8. Do you guys see the black Suburbans with satellite dishes on the roofs parked in front of your houses, too?
  9. As if banished to another land... I right clicked as well, but some browsers will open such a link in a new tab.
  10. Not sure if he's a builer, but years ago SAE ran a photo of Mark Martin reading a copy of SAE with one of Bill Coulter's models on the cover- late '80's/early '90's. There. That's pretty much it for my NASCAR trivia!
  11. Gary Schmidt has always had exceptional customer service, and his product line is top notch all the way. Cannot WAIT to see what this '50's cruiser is all about... if it's even a third as good as the Aerosedan/sedan delivery kits, I think we're in for a pleasant suprise!
  12. That's right, Mark! Years ago, you bought such a vehicle as 'basic transportation'. Nowadays, some of the economy cars are pretty cool. I'm actually considering an '11 Fiesta as my next car, now that my 320,000 mile '98 Mercury Tracer has finally given up the ghost . It's well within my budget, gets great mileage, and dare I say... I think the thing actually looks COOL!
  13. Now, bring on the Hudson! I've got a six-carb Caddy V8 waiting.
  14. Tomorrow, right after work, one will be landing on my bench...
  15. Oh, great... Mr. Lowe and the gang are getting a few more of my dollars.
  16. A bit of progress, seemingly minor stacked against the fact Jeff's traditonal '62 is almost done! The interior tub has some weird, vestigial tab molded beneath the package tray. My guess is they're leftover from when the kit was retooled from drop top to hardtop after the initial convertible was put to pasture. At any rate, they led to some nasty waves and sink marks on the package shelf, so a little bit o' putty work was in order... I also managed to finish up the detail painting underhood- still have to figure out the electric fan and a filler panel to cover up the screw posts. Might need to find a smaller battery... or 'move it to the trunk'...
  17. Been there... or they get the company name ALL WRONG in the first place.
  18. I think he's reffering to the 'b-post' thing.
  19. Mid '60's I believe. It's a bit newer than the Monogram Model A pickups.
  20. Whoa, whoa, whoa... how did I miss THAT one?
  21. Might actually go this year!
  22. Now, if I can find a way to order a caseload of 'em at a deeply discounted price! (I'll put them all to good use, I promise!)
  23. That is why, instead of depending on how others interpret someone else's post or opinon, I rely on my own gray matter. Things run much more smoothly that way. Look at the context of what the person is saying, and go from there. Often, even a poorly worded sentence or two in a critique can be aquitted if you just look at the entire post, as opposed to zeroing in on that one thing and blowing it all out of proportion.
