  1. At least in my neck of the woods, they can't move the things without heaping huge rebates on them- even then they're a bit on the steep side. I've said it before, I'll say it again... I don't care how many doors it has. I don't like the new Charger because it looks like a flattened Dakota Quad Cab. I'd rather have the FWD Charger than one of the new Chargers. Sheez... I think an Omni GLH is a sexier looking car than the new Charger...
  2. I've thought about cutting the cowl flush with those two slots the interior tub snaps into, then butting the firewall up against that. Going to have to give that a test run- I KNOW I've got some trashed F-150 parts around here...
  3. I've been thinking of building a 1:25 plow for a couple of years... maybe now's the time to pull the trigger.
  4. Beyond cool! Makes me want to finally wrap up that Dodge motorhome I've had on the back burner.
  5. http://www.caranddriver.com/news/car/10q1/2012_ford_police_interceptor-car_news I hope they let John Phillips do the review when it comes out...
  6. Nope- the one in question is staying the way it is! It's a pretty good representation of how I built models six or seven years back. The next one I'll put a little more effort into!
  7. Yeah- to me, it COULD have been a nice car, but isn't. It's a proportion thing for me- it just looks 'squatty', like it's too wide for its length or too short for its width. I do like the roof, though, but the new Camaros are a real pain to see out of.
  8. Some pics of mine- it was 'desprued' a bit when I got it, but I think all the parts are there. Not sure exactly how it differs from the Round 2 reissue-
  9. I only have the RC2-era reissue, but it's a pretty good kit, about on par with the '60 Starliner. It even has a separate plated windshield frame... take THAT, Revell '72 Cutlass!
  10. I think Jerry would dig this one. I know I do!
  11. Yep- those five spokes with wide whites do it for me!
  12. It seems Mr. Owens isn't "some of (us) guys"!
  13. Yes, Mike- the wires are all molded as one piece, and the terminals at the ends fit into holes in the tops of the cam covers. I really need to black out the ends, it'll look better, and I can mask the sink marks.
  14. Now those 'Rascal' type electric scooter things? Those are cool- even if you DO run me over...
  15. Thanks guys! Yeah, Bill I think I've seen that same car. I considered a supercharged 5.4 from a Revell Lightning (should pack enough punch to power one of these babies), but I thought the four cam 4.6 just plain looked cooler! Phil- I remember that one pretty clearly. Didn't you start out with a promo body? I've toyed with the idea of running a modified new-tool AMT/Ertl '62 T-Bird chassis (unibody) under one of these.
  16. Oh, I'm pretty good at spotting what's what in my rearview mirror at night by the head and parking lamps. Impalas, Chargers, Crown Vics, Caprices... you know, cop cars!
  17. Well... if I may interrupt the hardtop/sedan debate one key element is in place, the four cam Cobra 4.6 engine, robbed from an AMT Phantom Vicky kit. I cut out the frame crossmember and installed it backwards, and reshaped the oil pan to get it to hunker down in the Connie's ample engine bay. Still a few doodads to add underhood, but here's the gist-
  18. That isn't a real Hemi...
  19. 2005 by the copyright on the one I have, and the F-250 was more recent than that. Now, I wish they'd do a '99-up Super Duty Ford Dually!
  20. Very cool! And yes, Fred Cady is out of business, I think he closed up shop in '06 or so. Not sure about Shabo.
  21. Guess I'll have to refrain from showing a buildup of my Massey-Ferguson trio... 1100 tractor, Model 10 garden tractor, and Ski Whiz snowmobile...
  22. I have a die cast pull-back toy (yep, toy) by Kinsmart depicting a '98-style Police Interceptor, which I'm converting into an '03 Marauder. As for this new die cast Taurus-based PI? Well... I'm wondering how hard it would be to convert to a Lincoln MKS...
  23. Oh, yeah! The white top is what seals the deal. One last thing aboot the slots in the firewall, then I'll shut up about it for good- I was checking out my built Starliner today, the slots on mine might be visible because it appears the floor isn't quite up in the body all the way, even though the dash is right up against the windshield as it should be. All I can guess is the floor came loose later and pulled the firewall down a bit with it. So... the reason I can see them on mine might be due to a little bit of 'operator error'.
  24. Nope- no side glass in the kit. But if you look at the car with the doors closed and the side windows up, the window frames straddle the B-post. Oh- and said window frames are molded into the body. See the link to Jeff's WIP and you'll see what I mean.
