  1. Dollar Tree foam core poster board. $1.25 plus tax. Enough for most spray booths.
  2. The Jo-Han Maverick/Comet motor is really good. If Moebius offered that quality, I'd be happy to see it return. Same for many of the interior parts. When I first saw this rumor I contacted one individual with good industry connections. His comment was, "The only thing I KNOW is it has been on the 'TO DO' list for a while........but so has a 70 Javelin.....so.........." I also contacted Moebius directly. It's a good suggestion, but there's been "Moebius" box art for a Maverick for years that is an internet hoax, so don't get fooled into thinking it's right around the corner.Moebius ModelsOn 2023-02-18 03:37, iborg wrote:
  3. I believe this is one of JoHan's best castings. Very nice build.
  4. BlizzCon has a history of being a really good IPMS show. After the debacle of no heat last year and 15 degree weather, its been moved to the Markay Center. This is a tremendous venue. Come enter! Here's the show flyer. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10226160025820613&set=gm.6066711720055372&idorvanity=100922699967667
  5. My wife appreciates these being offered. Four more kits that won't come home with me.
  6. Words fail me. This is one of the coolest models I've ever seen. I do wish it was being still sold as this would be a great kit for my local clubs Halloween build. AMAZING Build!!!
  7. I think that if NASCAR is going to run a short track race, they should use short track rules.
  8. Dan, how did you do the knurling?
  9. If anyone is planning on going to the Don Garlits museum or have and if you took pictures of the interior of the WynnsJammer, the car AMT kitted, could you please share them? I'm working on this kit and doing several things to make it more accurate and would like some inside shots of the drivers compartment. I've got the Hot Rod article where "Garlits Tells All" but I lack details of the interior.
  10. Very impressive. I hope these are available for purchase.
  11. I so appreciate this build. Amazing build with great photos to help others. Can you share your source for both the hollow steel tube and the thickness gauge.
  12. Since you have a mill and a rotary table, why not make bolt heads for the spring retainers?
  13. I see this as a big problem with EVs. Some manufacturers insist that you replace the whole battery if a cell goes bad. Others, such as Toyota and their Prius allow you to replace individual cells. If that was the case with this Ford, the replacement cost of a bad cell would be in the $1000 range. I see this as a manufacturer design to increase repair costs to benefit dealers that will be loosing routine maintenance such as oil changes.
  14. VERRRRRY Nice!
  15. Its a race car.....black wall.
  16. Here's the best source of info: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1811/0745/files/Inch_to_Scale_Inch.pdf?18336730453498616087/ Research the type of car to find the appropriate size. Most roll cages are terribly oversized.
  17. Not a 1961 but the 1965 by AMT is available for a whole lot less.
  18. I had one of these and saw potential. I also saw to make it right would require a bunch of work. I appreciate your effrots.
  19. VERY IMPRESSIVE. I've also thought about making a bead roller. Yours is interesting especially how your's is designed to let you adapt to different metal thicknesses. Do you have a female die under he metal?
  20. First off what body? To throw a monkey wrench in it, what about the wheels and tires from the Smoothster?
  21. Looking at magazine listings on an auction site, it might have been in the Drag Racing Magazine February 1973 issue. I'm also not sure if the name is gold or yellow on the actual car. The decals are much better than the original issue.
  22. If anyone gets ahold of this can you please post a good scan of the decals? I really want to build this but the make or break is how nice the decals are. Based upon the video I know they don't include the blue fades for the body which I'm okay with. The question is how sharp are the decals. I've attached a photo of the actual car.
  23. The 1/25 dragster is also interesting. Revell's RE dragster is the standard of excellence for that era dragster. The MPC mold (Garlits/ Prudhomme and McEwen) are still fairly attainable. AMT's Ivo mold is in their current catalog. I believe the last time the Revell mold was available was the Jungle Jim release form five years ago or so. Hopefully Atlantis will have better quality control than Revell as some issues had huge issues with the frame being straight. Maybe we'll get a Keeling and Clayton reissue although Atlantis would really need to step up their decal game.
  24. I too remember this kit. Your choice of rear tires is far superior to what Revell used which were the thingies from their first funny cars like the Maverick.
  25. I wonder if they finally modified the Datsun hood unit or cab so they'll actually fit. I've never seen one yet that does.
