  1. Looks like the real thing.....great build of one of the classics I wish I had.
  2. Looks great. I started this kit forty years ago. It still languishes in the box. I keep on thinking a reissue has to be soon.
  3. Thanks for posting the pictures. I've always thought the driver was undersized but from your pictures it appears its closer to the right size than I thought.
  4. Funny you should ask, last night I looked on over. The chassis plate, roll cage are different. I think the rear end and seat are also different. As for higher prices the kits were made in much lower quantities than cars. Both Monogram and AMT offered the trucks with only Monogram offering a Dodge. The wheelbase is also longer which might be good for sportsman conversions.
  5. I am amazed by this wonderful creation and your dedication to see it through.
  6. To add to Daniel's excellent info on building aluminum bodies, this popped up today on a Pinterest feed today: https://www.largescaleplanes.com/articles/article.php?aid=2474 A bit more info to help build the knowledge base.
  7. I've been following along with one of these in my stash for when I get the skills. I think its a nice representation of this iconic car.
  8. Well sir, you've delivered on your promise to explain your sheet metal methods. A polite tip of the hat.
  9. Interesting, I've never seen the gasser potential in this kit. Thanks for opening my eyes.
  10. Your work makes me feel like a slacker when I'm thinking of using a resin body. When you glued the trunk lid to the plate to use on the rotary table, what kind of glue did you use? Was the plate a part of the rotary table or is it a separate piece? What is it made of? I'll admit you're making me realize there's so much more I can do with my milling machine.
  11. This is a very valid point. I remember when laser printers were first available. You had to have an Apple printer for an Apple, a Mac printer for a Mac (even through they were made by Apple) and had similar limitations on the windows side. Adobe introduced the concept of Postscript which is a common printer language. That opened the floodgates to printer availability to the consumer.
  12. I've seen the Boss Bulldozer a couple of times. Before seeing this one I pretty much ignored this kit. Now I really want one. I just wish Monogram would had modeled a driver for it.
  13. Can you share a link?
  14. I agree, the recent snap kits aren't my cup of tea but I also accept I'm not the market. These look like something that can be made to sell cheaply enough that they could be stocking stuffers for 7 year olds. Maybe for every ten they sell, one new modeler would be born. That's a great return. I would like to see some of the Aurora road race kits return but I have little expectation. The question is are there newer kits that are better detailed and easier to assemble of the same subject. As for the classics, they're great kits but if you look at the resell market, there's not a huge demand. I find that sad as they are without a doubt some of the best designed kits of all time.
  15. Hmmm.......several passes here. But IVO streamliner!!! Decals look much improved over the original issue. I wonder when it can be ordered.
  16. Nice vintage colors....or are they new again. This should be a great build.
  17. Can you post a picture of what's in the flyer?
  18. One thing to remember, this was a one time release. Many stores didn't carry it because it was satanic. Dodge only offered it as a Demon one year due to the public pressure and the Demon became the Dodge Sport. From the 1971 model year, I'd bet this was MPC's lowest production annual kit.
  19. I love this!!!!!! Great build with so much to look at you realize every picture you mentioned something. Question, you mentioned laser welding. Can you share more info?
  20. The paint is so period perfect for the late 1960's-early 1970's.
  21. Looking at this, your methodology could be helpful on a couple of projects. What kind of speed were toy using on your mill? What kind of guide did you use. They look wonderfully accurate.
  22. I'll admit I've ignored this era of Rivera for years.....I can see one getting started on my workbench.
  23. Also, the intellectual property I'm sure has long been abandoned.
  24. Those hinges look ugly on the build up. Wait a minute......they're ugly on the 1:1.
