Ohio George 1969 Mr. Gasket Mustang Resin Body
iBorg replied to JPolli's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I'd use the 69 as the main donor for the front clip. The hood scoop would be added to the '69. Maybe the spoiler would work or it might need scratch building. -
Custom Dodge Challenger "Superbird"

Looks like Lightning McQueen mixed with Dodge Challenger. In other words two portly cars mixed into a portly mess. -

Looking at this clear body and it is much better than I remember. It could be a good one to cast but Paul's point is well taken. Maybe converting to the '69 body would be cheaper. It all depends on the price and availability of the 69 body. Another thought would be to adapt the PL Mustang funny car. I'm not sure how close it is to stock but I do know it has a shorter wheelbase than the PL Chargers. -
Auto World Model Kit Collector’s Club

Seems like a way to cut hobby shops out of the sales channel. Sorry....short term gain, long term lost for the hobby. I'll pass. I've got a good shop within twenty miles and would like to support it. -
Ohio George 1969 Mr. Gasket Mustang Resin Body

Honestly, I'd think about adapting the Revell or MPC regular body to the OGM. I think it would be more accurate. The MPC OGM always struck me as having weak details. -
Birdcage.....just saying it makes me excited to say it.

Wish they'd kit that now.

Wow.....I love it. Does bring back some memories.

Ask at the Indy Car Forum: http://mb2501.proboards.com/ I believe these are quite nice kits. You can also find some wip's there.- 5 replies

This is the next to last front engined rail. The one that he got hurt in didn't have the full body. This is 12B see: http://www.garlits.com/swamprat12b.htm . The last FE car was by weird coincidence was SR 13 see: http://www.garlits.com/swamprat13.htm

My fault......I was thinking the Jammer. I'll need to get one of these. I built it as a 12 year old. Maybe I'll paint it the right color this time. As for decals.....I'd like to see nice decals for both the Jammer and the first rear engined car. I've got a rear engined car that I'm working on. Scratch frame....and a lot of other scratch built pieces.

I've got a case of the last issues. We can only hope that finally the decals will be better than they have been in the past. I'd really love for someone with an Alps to recreate the decals for this car as well as the rear engined car.

You can adapt the two different Revell Vegas together. The noses and tail panels are a pretty easy swap. The wheel flares are a bit more challenging.

ABSOLUTELY love IT!

So.....do I modify the AMT 67 (which I have a couple minus chassis....great for Johan Mavericks) with a previous re-issue or should I wait for this to hit the shelves? I'm not sure this body is right but its a lot closer.... Not sure which decals are better, these or Slixx.

Is this the foundation for the Satellite that MPC released? If not, this is one Muldowney car I don't remember seeing before.

A bump please......saw this at Hobby Lobby and I'm really tempted. Anyone got one with any build comments? Mike

Curious on what I have here
iBorg replied to fun9c1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't know if your Dad has passed or not. Mine has. That colors my viewpoints on this collection. Those models are a connection to your father and a hobby you both shared. When you look at them sometimes you'll only see plastic kits from fifty or sixty years ago. At other times you'll see your Dad, his joy and the love you shared. I inherited a large model train collection. Most of it is insignificant to me. There's an unfinished garden railway that I'll have to remove prior to selling my parent's house when that responsibility falls to me. That will be a hard project. I also received an old Tyco General Engine that may not run. Its where Dad left it. Every time I go into his train room and see it, I remember him. Most of the trains will be sold on eBay or at train shows. The General will eventually find its way to my office or a special shelf at home. Keep those kits.....I can identify most of them for you....most have been reissued. Their value is minor compared to what that connection with your Dad means to you. -
They have a facebook page up with a picture of the flyer..... Mike

They were my first thought......before Matthew joined us I used to sell at the Louisville show. It was always a GREAT show. Hopefully I'll be able to return soon.

My son is performing in Louisville at a national youth symphony competition. If any Louisville members have any suggestions where they might be able to practice on the evening of Wednesday, March 5th, please pm me. Thanks, Mike

I'm hoping a Louisville modeler can help me. My son is part of a high school symphony. They will be in Louisville to compete in a national competition. On Wednesday night, March 5 they need a place for about 50 players to practice. If you know someplace we should look into, please pm me.

Wish it was my garage!

Great build so far.....This has a lot of potential. Where'd you get the pictures of the restoration?
