  1. Check out this guy's eBay store 3 inches under. He has radios, mikes, speakers, lights sirens, fire and medic equipment. He has the Bio Phone used on the tv Show Emergency and other stuff from that show. And they did use a couple of these old Caddy's on the beginning of that show too. He also has parts so you can make a hearse out of that Caddy too. he has the caskets, the rollers that go on the floor, the window curtains and the metal S that goes on the outside of the upper window area. He might be a big help for you if need parts like this. 1:25 scale model Motorola Micor police fire ambulance radio 1/25 | eBay
  2. Looks like you could just sand them down from the backside to make them thinner.
  3. Thanks for the help. I'll check out your suggestions and see if I can make it work for me.
  4. Thanks for the reply. That's a pic I grabbed from the web of the compressor. And the specs they posted. Air Brush Compressor Voltage 120 V Lubrication Type Oil-Free Horsepower 1/5 HP Maximum Working Pressure 30 PSI Look at the compressor and you will see the built in regulator just under the fold down handle. That's the one that's causing it to cycle off when it hits 57 psi or so. That's factory set and not adjustable. That's a pic of the regulator that I bought. It looks exactly like the one that was on it and got broken on storage. I'll check the label on it later tonight. It does look like it has a part number and I want to check the max pressure for it too. It does say it's labeled for 145 psi max. I placed that regulator I bought between the compressor and water trap with gauge you see in the pic. When I had it set up before I stored it, it worked fine as I recall. I think it broke because it was left screwed down to a low-pressure setting. The entire top of the reg is plastic and it has a huge, stiff spring in it between the diaphragm and the adjuster. I think it got brittle and broke the top or it could have taken a hit and broke that way too. Not sure. I used a different air brush when I tried this before. I painted a hood that looked about as real and crappy as the paint on the real car did. lol But I did a body that looked like mini orange peel sort of. And I tried a metalic paint on one car that looked good in some places and not in others. Even though the paint was mixed really well, I just don't think the metalic sprayed like it should. Too much metal flake in some areas compared to others was the issue. Unless you need a smaller needle to make a bigger hole in the air brush for metalics, I blame the paint on this one.
  5. On those brake lines, I think I got them from Hobby Lobby, they look like a straight pin, but they have a round eye on top and they are soft. Real easy to bend, not like a stiff straight pin. Might want to look for those. I found a pic on Temu for $1.18 and they have them in different sizes. Most brake lines are wrapped with a stone shield from the factory. You can use guitar string that's a wrapped single wire over a straight wire. It's pretty stiff, so once you bend it, it's bent. Something else you might want to try. You can find this stuff pretty cheap at some music stores. I'm lucky I got a friend that plays. All I have to do is help him restring his guitars and I get all the strings I need. These also come in different diameters.
  6. I have a Central Pneumatic compressor. I got it a few years ago. It said it had a regulator and that's misleading from the start. It has a power cable that comes out of the back and goes into a valve that screws into a brass fitting in the back of the compressor head. IT's set for 4kg which is about 57 psi. I installed a CP regulator with water trap on it. If I recall correctly when I first tried airbrushing it worked fine with this regulator. I guess I had beginners' issues with painting by airbrush and set it aside. So, not I got it back out and want to learn how to use it this time. The regulator broke under the plastic adjustment knob. So, I bought one online exactly like the one that broke while in storage. Here's the problem. When the compressor runs wide open it cycles off at about 50 or 60 psi and cycles back on around 35 to 40 psi with no load. It will hold 30 psi with my dual action turned wide open, no paint, and regulator wide open. My dual actions says run between 12 to 30 psi. If I turn the regulator down to try and reach just 30 psi, it won't hold the spring-loaded trap closed on the water trap. Even if I hold it closed by hand, it won't build any air pressure and it runs wide open. Once I turn the regulator back up it runs fine but too high a pressure and it starts cycling again. Is this a faulty regulator, not enough volume from the compressor, compressor bad, I don't know. And if I recalled correctly, why did it work fine with the old regulator. Thinking about taking the new regulator out of the system and getting one of those brass valves with the gauge in it like the ones on my professional Binks guns that we use for painting race cars with. All it does is manually restrict airflow by closing off the air supply in the line itself with a gauge on the other side so you can tell by how much you closed it off. Any ideas why that compressor won't work with that regulator will be much appreciated.
  7. Just for the record, Daytona's were four lug till 85 when they went to 5 lugs. So, don't sweat the 5 lug wheels.
  8. Fast Lane Fever. And a right-hand drive car at that.
  9. Looking good.

No problem. Thanks for looking into it.

Afraid not. Mines missing the seat.

    AMC Ambassador

Does anyone make a 73 AMC Ambassador. Want a 4dr to build a cop car. Need a bench seat for a 78 Ford Truck. The Firestone truck to be exact. Pair of leaf spring risers would be nice to have as well. Thanks
  13. More than welcome. Yeah, it can be a job to cut all that stuff out. I'm getting to where I want to challenge myself to do more mods like that just to make things work the way I want them too. But I get it.
  14. Cut the floor out and drop it down to the level of the jump seat. That would put it on the floor of the chassis pan but it would lower the gurney down without changing anything else. There's a guy on Ebay that has wood grain floor for an Ambulance too. You could use that along with a very thin piece of sheet plastic to replace the thick plastic floorboard with.
  15. I have the gurney in the first two pics. I wished I had the one in the 3rd and 4th pics. That one looks to be the narrowest one of them all.
  16. Thanks for that info. IT helps. Love the build so far. Can't wait to see it finished.
  17. I'm interested in how this gurney turns out. I may have to get one and try it. I have this same Ambulance project in mind and it's very close to your build. The gurney I got off of eBay is chrome plastic. I'm sure it's a parts pack piece or something from another kit. Problem is, it's too wide to fit in the back of the Caddy. Either I cut the side out of the interior to make room, or I'm going to have to split my gurney in half and down size it. Or get the one you have if it fits.
  18. Thanks. I've seen the shackles before, but these springs are too short. I really need at least one set of risers if anybody has them and don't need them. I'm sure I'll have something to trade. Really need that bench seat for the Firestone Ford 4x4 too. I might have to walk Hobby Lobby for some of those beads or something else if I can't find some factory spring risers. Thanks.
  19. Does anyone have two sets of leaf spring risers that they put in some kits, so you can run tall wide tires? One kit that has them is that 69 Dart with the Hemi in it. Usually, two small, short ones and two long ones for the rear. I need two pairs of each if anyone has them. Also need a truck bench seat for the 78 Ford 4x4 Firestone truck.
  20. Sorry about that. I should have proofread it. I fixed it. My smart phones auto correct is not that smart. lol Outside phone wire works good too. Outside wire has solid copper wire in it so it's bendable, where inside wire is wrapped stranded wire, and won't take a bend at all.
  21. Outside phone wire works good too. Outside wire has solid copper wire in it so it's bendable, where inside wire is wrapped stranded wire, and won't take a bend at all. You can buy a 50 ft roll of outside wire cheap, and it lasts a lifetime. Plus, it has 6 different colors inside the gray insulation. It has red, black, yellow, blue, white, and green. So you are set for plug wire colors as well as colors for wiring up ignition boxes and other things under the hood. I jsut looked office max has a 50 ft roll for 12 and Home Depot for 20. So Lowes and Wal Mart will have it cheaper. Has to be the 6 wire outside wire though. Not the 4 wire inside wire.
  22. Great looking cars so far. As for wired dist. get one from MAD. They make a great pre wired dist. Mopar and chevy use the same firing order. 18436572. The dist. rotate clockwise so does the firing order. Left cylinder bank is 1357, right cylinder bank is 2468. Once you start wiring the cars with the factory firing order, every time you see a model that's not wired like that you can tell it without even counting out the firing order. It just looks out of place. CabDrivers right too. Don't use too big a wire and bend the wires so they droop over valve covers and intakes and in places where they should lay. Also keep them as short as possible just like on the real cars.
  23. I'm, sorry to hear that. I had no idea. I was just trying to help you out. If it was a simpler roll cage, and I had the time I'd offer to do it myself.
  24. It's easy to make you own if you want to learn how to do it. Just buy some evergreen rod of the correct size for your scale. Then get this file set from Harbor Freight. You need these anyways. Only 6 bucks. It has a round file, round taper file and a half round with flat bottom that is perfect for making fish mouth joints so you can glue the tubes together the same way the real ones are welded together. Needle File Set, 10 Piece (harborfreight.com)
  25. Only one slight color issue. AFB carbs are aluminum, not bronze like a holley. That's what the name stands for AFB = Aluminum Four Barrel. Tq is a better carb though. lol And if you want, there are two brackets that hold each end of that valley plate down and they are black. It's starting to take shape though. I had too many of those Road Runners over the years.
