  1. Looking good. Get the Alt. from the Revell 68 Charger kit. IT has a bracket on it already. Just dechrome it and paint the bracket black with an aluminum alt. And here's what you want for a dist. 8 Cylinder Tan Cap - Morgan Automotive Detail (madmodeling.com) Tan cap orange wires are factory for that year. After you start using these, you will never drill a dist. again. Only thing you need to add to these are the vacuum advance to it. Model Car Garage has them, but you can cut them off kit dist. if you find a good one like in the Charger kit I mentioned above.
  2. Looks good. Can't wait to see it finished.
  3. Try 1634 Duplicolor Low Gloss Black. It's got a good satin finish to it. I use it lot. Use a primer for sure, it's a little on the hot side, but I've never hurt anything with it. I just did a 55 gasser with charged 327 and it turned out good with that black and gold decals. Called it the Rattler. Bad pic, but you get the point. lol
  4. You are correct. The round one is an unsilenced air filter. The base that holds the filter is smaller than the round lid on top. So it sucks all the air from underneath it. That's why there is no snorkel.
  5. That's the one. It used to be red on the box art. It's got a great looking small block 340. Even though you can't tell a 273,318,340 from each other by looking at it. You have to check the block casting numbers on the real thing. 360 has a weighted front balancer, so you can look at it and tell. That small block would be more realistic looking, in your car. The six pack was not available after 71, so if you did the 74 version you would have to do a 400 or 440 or a small block 318 or 340. Only options for that year. If you do research on DOH you will find most all of the cars had small blocks in them for driving and all the stunts except the jumps. They put 440's in the jump cars. Now the story always said the GL had a 440 and there's several episodes where you can see the engine sitting on the engine stand in the barn and with the hood up as well. But like you mentioned, you could never see the engine in the RR. Oh, there was one scene where it's covered in bird of chicken BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH and when they open the hood and it shows the engine fire you can only see the fan and it's a small block in that car. That scene might have been from one of the reunion movies. Can't recall.
  6. Yep. I've done it too. At least I know it's there, right. lol
  7. Probably. Similar one was used with two 4 bbls. The carbs should be brass.
  8. I'm sure it will look good no matter which way you go, but just wanted to throw that out there. Lots of people don't know the Mopar world. lol I worked for them, so I have inside info. lol
  9. They would have never used a 6 pack engine with a car that had the flat hood. You can swap the intake for a single 4 though. You can also get the 340 small block from the Duster kit. It has the best looking Carter Thermoquad ever made in that kit. It even looks better than all the holley carbs out there, except for a few resin versions.
  10. I'm glad you bored it out. I would stuck a 360 in it and put 318 decals on it just to cheat. lol Looks good.
  11. 72 Charger with the correct paint scheme and qtr window. It should also have the flat hood.
  12. Wrong paint job for that body though. It should not have drip rails over the doors, but that's an easy fix. That paint job is for the 72 model year and that car is a 73 or 74 body. The 1 and 2 has a rear facing curve and smaller qtr window. The 3 and 4 have the forward facing curve and larger qtr window like this one has. 74 forward curve 71 rear facing curve
  13. I guess it's nit picking, but the coil is on the wrong side. That's where the kick down linkage for the transmission goes along with the cable for the carbs throttle. Looks too much like a gm air cleaner. Plugs tilt towards each other on a 273, 318, 360 and 340 Mopar's.
  14. They look real good, but a little low in the sidewall for what I want. Might have to go that route if I can't find the others. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Thanks. I do remember those too. Just checked e bay. No luck there. I'll keep searching.
  16. Thanks. I'll see if I can find some.
  17. Blue for sure. And where did you get the tires from? That's exactly what I need for a build I am working on. I thought I had a set, or at least saw them somewhere before and could not remember where. I really need a pair and a set of solid centerlines. The fronts I have are not as deep as I would like them to be. If someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.
  18. Masking tape painted black or use a sharpie on it. It has texture like a vinyl top.
  19. Not on a 4 spd car. The inspection cover is black just like the one in the pic. And the trans pan on an auto is steel, different color from the aluminum case.
  20. Not on a 4 spd car. The inspection cover is black just like the one in his pic. And the trans pan on an auto is steel, different color from the aluminum case.
  21. Looks good.
  22. Anyone know where I can find pics of an antique floor jack like the one in the pics? I searched google and came up empty. There's a link below to the movie I saw this jack in and what time you can find it. I know the pics I took are not very good or detailed. It goes with my 36 Ford tow truck build. Thanks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0l2WEW2mlo&t=2s Go to 1:11:28 and look at the jack he carries in and tosses under the car.
  23. Yep, your hp figures are a little off. A Stock 10.25 compression ratio 426 Hemi makes around 511 to 528 horse, not 426 as advertised. A NASCAR or drag race, race Hemi at 12.5 to 1 cr made almost 700 hp. Roughly 685 or so. So for sake with modern times it makes only 700. A pair would be 1400. Supercharge em and make 2k. lol
