Welcome, anytime. Those are pretty pricey compared to others they sell, but what can you do when you need 30 year old decals. I'm not sure where I found that site at. I gave it to a friend and he bought some bodies from them to do some trans am type cars. He said the stuff showed up pretty fast and it looked really nice. I have not ordered from them yet, but I will in the next few days when I get my order worked up and sent in. Nice thing is, they will make them either in decal form or peel and stick form.

That's an interesting way to mold those. I'll have to try that some time.

Looks good. Love the tire details.

Just using that as an example. Most put the load in the center. When they weigh they trucks they weight all the wheels and you are only allowed so much weight on each wheel at a total of 80,000 lbs. If you center the load it spreads the weight out more evenly. I ran both 48 and 53 ft van trailers. They were usually loaded front to back anyways, so I did not run into that too much.

Depends on size and weight I guess. I never drove one, but I knew several that ran coil steel like the ones included in your kit. They ran two coils right in the center of the trailer with a couple feet or so between them. Two coils came close to the 80,000 lb limit. I'm sure at times they ran over the limit too. Remember, you can always adjust the 5th wheel and trailer tandems forward and backwards to adjust the weight of the loads on the tires to an extent.

IIRC, these were factory test cars and NHRA kept hitting them with weight penalties cause they were unstoppable. Mopar had enough and ended the program. One of the crew kept or bought one of the cars, but Mopar would not let them use the name, so it was changed to the Motown Missile. It was based out of Mi. anyways. I read a nice write up on these cars, I'll post a link to it if I can find it.

Lookin good. No matter how much you clean there's still a lot of dust around. I have allergies so I have run an air purifier for a long time now. You'll be surprised how much dirt there is in the air we breath. You might want to visit Lowes and get one. Bigger they are the more they cost. I always get one that is bigger than the room you intend to use it in. Runs quieter and uses less filters that way. Mine has both a charcoal side and a regular cotton gauze type filter.

You can get them at any hobby store like Hobby Lobby or Hobby Town USA or just about anywhere on the net that sells model supplies. -

Thanks. Looks good. Well worth the effort. I'll have to see if I can locate some of that to use for some truck builds. -
Yep, nothing like a wheel weight going through the rad or your windshield. I run short tracks and it's a contact sport. We put the wheel weights on the inside of the rims so you can't rub them off on another car. Even at a buck 20 they can still cause trouble.

Nice looking aero coupes. I always loved those cars. Made them look a little more racey than that stock coupes. Remember the demise of the chrome wheel too. They did that because the chrome was so slick the tries would spin or slip on the rim causing failures. Those chrome powder coated wheels they use today sure look good though. Almost as good as the old chrome and without the danger. Wonder why it took so long for someone to start using it.

Where did you get the wood and the strips for the bed? Looks good. -
I know what you mean. I used it for ever and guess I just finally found some thin plastic kits. I ran into it with a Dupli-color semi gloss engine paint that I really liked too. I painted the rear axles of a semi truck. Later picked them up and pressed a dent into one of them while trying to install it. Quite some time after paint and it was dry. Guess my luck just ran out. Hood looks good. I can't see in the pic where it's been fixed.

Welcome, anytime. I'm not real sure on that car, but something to check on if you are going for accuracy. I know some put an alum. shaft in the NASCAR cars and I know for fact those are white since the 60's. And thanks for the pics. Enjoyed them.
-
Off to a good start. Really want to see the headers. Wont the drive shaft be painted white like most every race car I have ever seen per the rules? I mean the alum. shafts look good, but incorrect for most every modern race car ever built. They look more in place on factory stock late model street cars though. I know I twisted a drive shaft out of my dirt car one night and if it was not painted white, no one would have seen it before it was too late. Bad part is the other half stayed in the car and beat it up. Punched three nice long slotted holes in the floor right beside my seat.

Love the RR despite the hood problems. Let me add that the engine paints are hot paints so use a good primer under them so it wont melt the plastic. Learned the hard way. I have a fav. color that lays down perfect every time without the primer. Then one day it softened up some thin plastic to the point I could push my finger through it with easy. Now I use the primer and if it does not lay down right, then the paint does not look right. So now I have to be extra careful with it all.

It's not the skill, it's the equipment. Just not made for it. But, they did try to use wipers and rain tires on a road course as an exp. I did not see it, so I don't know how it turned out. I guess it failed. I sent out a package for you too. Sorry for the delay.

Without seeing it I think that is the fuel catch can that goes on the back of the car during fueling. The tank is compressed nitrogen. They use it to fill the tires and run the impact guns during pit stops. No water in nitrogen to ruin the guns or cause handling problems as moisture boils off inside the tires. That's why they use it.

SMBC and Competition Resin has drivers. One of them has two heads with different helmets.

Not just a WV thing. Tn DOT requires a physical too. Even for small trucks, like those bread trucks as I call them, that the uniform rental companies use for route trucks. They have to have them too. At least since '94 and I'm sure it was required way before that too.

Welcome, anytime. I was too far into my build before I caught the turbo issue. I must say yours' looks a lot better than mine did.
