Off to a good start. Really want to see the headers. Wont the drive shaft be painted white like most every race car I have ever seen per the rules? I mean the alum. shafts look good, but incorrect for most every modern race car ever built. They look more in place on factory stock late model street cars though. I know I twisted a drive shaft out of my dirt car one night and if it was not painted white, no one would have seen it before it was too late. Bad part is the other half stayed in the car and beat it up. Punched three nice long slotted holes in the floor right beside my seat.

Love the RR despite the hood problems. Let me add that the engine paints are hot paints so use a good primer under them so it wont melt the plastic. Learned the hard way. I have a fav. color that lays down perfect every time without the primer. Then one day it softened up some thin plastic to the point I could push my finger through it with easy. Now I use the primer and if it does not lay down right, then the paint does not look right. So now I have to be extra careful with it all.

It's not the skill, it's the equipment. Just not made for it. But, they did try to use wipers and rain tires on a road course as an exp. I did not see it, so I don't know how it turned out. I guess it failed. I sent out a package for you too. Sorry for the delay.

Without seeing it I think that is the fuel catch can that goes on the back of the car during fueling. The tank is compressed nitrogen. They use it to fill the tires and run the impact guns during pit stops. No water in nitrogen to ruin the guns or cause handling problems as moisture boils off inside the tires. That's why they use it.

SMBC and Competition Resin has drivers. One of them has two heads with different helmets.

Not just a WV thing. Tn DOT requires a physical too. Even for small trucks, like those bread trucks as I call them, that the uniform rental companies use for route trucks. They have to have them too. At least since '94 and I'm sure it was required way before that too.

Thanks. I did the same thing on he down pipe from the turbo on the trucks Cat engine too. It just does not show up well in my pics for some reason. If the first truck engine pic had not turned out blurry, I think it would have showed up better in that pic.

One other thing I forgot to tell ya is the mounting of the wheels and tires. If you can find them, get better wheels and tires. I think I'll replace mine, but I was told you can stuff the tires with cotton pulled from cotton balls to stiffen up the tires and help it fit on the rims better. I had to take a drill bit to all the mounting holes too. Mine were too tight. And leave the little guards on the sleeper step to the last minute before you remove them. I've broken the right side off about 8 times now. So far each repair is undetectable. Lucky I guess.

I made a heat shield to cover it up. One other thing, that's a Cat 3406 and it should be all yellow including the starter and hoses. These truck engines are completely built and finished before install. And everything gets painted. I'll post you an engine ref. pic and a pic of mine.

Ok, here's a small update. I went back and decided to add a turbo shield to my W900 along with heater hoses in this shot. I've got a few more under hood details for this one before I am through. And here's the start to the Cat engine in the dozer. Not much to see, but a lot of yellow paint. lol. You can't really see it in this pic, but I painted the ex. yellow, then a semi gloss black. Sanded it back with fine paper till the yellow just started to show through and then hit it with some Tamiya rust from a detailing kit. It's looks too black in the pic, but it looks about right in person.

Good, cause I have too many projects to detail all at one time. lol Wonder who's fault that is.

If you like, I can measure the Hemi Hippie chassis and see if it matches the wheel base of your body. I swear it looks just like the one in the instruction sheet pics in that second link except for the chute mounts in the rear.

I found these links with a quick Google search. Looks just like the chassis in my AMT Hippie Hemi except for the back part where the chute mounts. Hope that helps.
