  1. The first 5 variations all come from the same tooling......so once up and running only the color of plastic is different. I know they are trying to sell to newbies with the molded in color stuff.......be nice if they'd do some in all white or light gray plastic. It will be a while before most of us non club members see a kit.
  2. Nice work....I built that one last year. For it's age.....a decent kit.
  3. It looks like the interior was at times blue or black. Guessing but it may depend on weather that car was a rebodied Petty car or a car built for the #11 team. Pick a race photo and go with it.
  4. I like the 70 RR.....warts and all!!!!
  5. Love the look!!!!! Nice to have a car connected to family. Dad was not a car guy but when we moved to SoCal in 1960 he became Valvoline racing director and I got hooked on cars by helping him at car shows etc. VERY cool history you have there.
  6. One exception to the electronics thing......... I bought two LG smartphones at Walmart. Total was was under $35 out the door. Activated them on my AT&T plan and I've gotten 2 years good use out of them SO FAR. These same phones at the AT&T store cost you $100 if bought out right. This trick was told to me by a worker at a AT&T store......so pick your electronics wisely at Walmart and it can work.
  7. I have two 4 foot long LED shop lights over my work area. Less than $50 for a LOT of light for a long time.
  8. I know the area. Family in the area and I do Somerset car show a few times. But we have no highways or interstates, 1000 sq mile county with THREE traffic lights, 2 of them not needed but we don't want to go down to ONE!!!! LOL US Govmt dark zone with no Cell service or WiFi allowed......come to think of it.......all this is why I moved here!!!! ?
  9. I'm not a fan of Walmart......my Google reviews say so!!!!!! But I live in the most rural place east of the Mississippi and drive an hour to get to major stores. With the cost of EVERYTHING today......I need to be a cheapskates' to survive.
  10. I was, at one time, owner and/or employee at two different hobby shops. I still have a good friend in the hobby wholesale biz. I understand the ire at R2 for dumping kits at Ollie's or WM for less that wholesale. I bought my Cal Drag Team at retail to support R2 even though I thought MSRP was a bit high. So when my son found them for $25 I had to buy. If you think WalMart has 5K stores in the USA, if half take the shipper with let's say 20 different kits four each. THAT is more than most wholesalers buy today, in a single shipping. Hard to turn down fast cash in todays market. (FYI that is 200000 kits) If models at WalMart is wrong......don't go, show your support LHS...it's that easy.
  11. My son went by Walmart and they had a new model shipper. It was much the same as the last one BUT.....it had the Ford drag team kit for $25. He picked up 2 for me. (borrowed pic)
  12. NC did title the very first Mustangs as 1964 1/2.......I have membership #9 of the Mustang Club of America and I have seen other members that had Mustangs in NC titled as such. Also there was a Mustang at 'Ponies in the Smokies' last week that claimed 1964 1/2 but I did not see the title so........(far right....missed taking a photo somehow)
  13. TRUE titles 1964 1/2 Mustangs ar few and far between. Most states entered 1965 on the titles. North Carolina DID enter 1964 1/2 on titles and thus many claim they are more valuable. Early Mustangs had generators rather than alternators. But these get changed out. Biggest difference visually is the dash cluster. 65 has a square speedo with other gauges in small squares. The 66 has 5 round gauges with the speedo in the center the largest. When I restored my 66 I found there are TONS of internal differences even within a single year. You have to know your build date before you order some parts. Tough call from that photo!!!!! Thanks My 66 2+2
  14. My dealer has had ONE....sold over sticker. Wife is looking at Santa Cruz now........about as hard to get.
  15. Been an issue for 2 years or longer. My son works production line for Toyota. They have had 1 or 2 'clean up' days a week because of parts issues. Toyota is smart....they are going to their own chip company.
  16. As a owner of a real Mustang II coupe that looks good!!!
  17. I'll be happy to go WHERE EVER that little Cobra is and rescue it!!!!! I did buy a 77 Mustang II coupe that is 3D printed from a seller on ebay. Nice for the $24 I paid. It will need primer and sanding.....but not much different than resin.
  18. My loop was Cinncy, Dayton and Columbus......a OHIO thing???
  19. Love to say 'WOW That is strange' .....but it is not. I had a package stuck for days in a loop going between 3 cities. My PO had to request an intercept and inspection to get it out of the looping. SOP
  20. ALL the good parts from the Camaro were used to build...........
  21. THAT is a great kit!!!!!!! I bought many of them. Took the wheels out and tossed the rest!!
  22. More likely to see 3D printed copies of many of the JoHan odd balls. 3D is good right now.....think what it will be in 5 years.
  23. The IMSA GTO Mustangs could be a viable reissue if Atlantis has them. Decent kits that were issued once.
