Great build and color!!!

Some JoHan tooling is not owned by Okey.........some of what we looked at was a 3rd party and a few were owned by Okey. I don't think this is a secret in the industry.......

There is some JoHan tooling out there that could be made viable. One that we looked at hard was the Superbird. It was missing inserts that would need to be tooled.....but done as a 3 in 1 stock, drag and NASCAR could be profitable IMHO ONLY. Many others are less profitable....maybe....

From the Atlantis site re: Aurora molds

Pretty much what I had been told by a Monogram and then Revell long time employee. We owe Ed Sexton and Atlantis a thanks -
How many years ago did JoHan show at RCHTA with a big catalog full of stuff???? Then Moebius looked at some tooling and passed. I know myself a number of folks have looked at the tooling....all passed......SO FAR

NICE work!!!!! I'd like to find that kit and the 1/16 scale Mustang II coupe kit. I have a 66 Mustang but my wife has a '75 Mustang II coupe.....Love to build a model of it!

Great project....it would be the perfect vehicle to be laser cut!!! I made a bunch of Lil Yeller before AMT re-popped! -
Futures market is worried that the FEDS will open drilling and thus the market fell a little. (read the story on why Alaska is only at 25% capacity today) To go into details would drag politics into the stream here.....but I am sure most of us here can dig and find the info on the net.

Great work!

R + R is the way now....remove and replace....not fix. Back in the olden days of the 1970's there was a radiator shop in Charlotte that I took stuff to. It was outdoors so in the winter the vats would have steam boiling out. The owner and sole employee was about 6' 8" and had a pointed beard. You can guess what a visit to his shop was like!!!! He did great work....the radiator he did for my 66 Mustang lasted until I put an aluminum unit in 2019!!!

I don't blame big oil this time. 75% or the oil drilling is now done by small, mostly family owned companies that then sell it to refiners. Big oil can't be bothered with this step any longer. The issue is government. The Governor of Alaska was all over the news shows last weekend talking about how the Federal regulators will not allow current wells to produce at more than 25% capacity and have shut down all new drilling. He claims over night they could produce most of what we need if the Fed's allowed. So who is benefiting from this 'Crisis'?? At the same time the refiners are not being permitted to run at 100% capacity. This was per two different state governors. You can look this stuff up. You are correct......Never let a crisis go to waste is a way of life for some.

I've been pushing for the ZZR kit for years. My last grail from AMT. It was turned into Firebug but should still be out there.....

ICM models and the Ukraine.
Dave Van replied to Racephoto1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm really worried as this mess goes on. Reports out there that Putin is wiping out anything he can. Homes, stores and factories. Destroying everything possible to try and make Ukraine dependent on him....even if he leaves. I do not know what the fix is.....so I pray the people we make it. -

Neat changes! -
Today in the mail I got a 1977 Mustang II coupe body. If you have been in the hobby long you may recall the first resin bodies. None I saw or bought were usable and ended up giving away or still in a box. 3D is currently at that stage. My Mustang II body is better than the first Gen resin and may be better than some current resin. The body will need prep, the print lines are visible so it will need sanding and primer before it can be built. But at first look I like it....and at $25 not a bad deal for a body not available in 1/25 any other way. I wonder what 3D will be in 5 years???

ICM models and the Ukraine.

The MasterBox stuff is very nice. It shows there are/were some great artist that enjoyed our simple hobby. Ignore my poor painting....the MasterBox figure is much nicer than I can do. -
ICM models and the Ukraine.
Dave Van replied to Racephoto1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
ICM, MasterBox, Roden and many more are all located in Ukraine. I ordered the Roden 1/35 US bus kit from Ukraine about 5 days before the invasion. I fear that these people, that are much like us, are going to loose their way of life, jobs, homes. I just Pray that they make it out alive. -
NEVER have a debt or checking account linked to Paypal or any online payment service. If you have a fraud issue with debit or checking the bank has 90 days to look into it. You may loose your car in 90 days if someone cleared your account. Credit card fraud has to be put on a hold status THE DAY YOU INFORM your CC company and they can not charge you. Keep yourself safe....no one else will do it!

Don't you love the experts???? "Just buy a Tesla rather than those stupid F350s'.......... Next time the 'experts' need a tow, ambulance ride or heavy delivery....call your Telsa owning friend. Many of use own trucks because WE NEED A TRUCK!!! I owned a SMART(50 MPG) until I NEEDED A TRUCK........it's not as simple as the experts claim.
