+Finished Jimmy Means build
Dave Van replied to Mike Stem's topic in Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
Jimmy was a neighbor of my wifes aunt back in the day. Jimmy is a great guy. The 'Smut' comes from someone finding a Playboy magazine in his race car once........the name stuck for better or worse! -
I did work for a BIG NASCAR promotor back in the day. I got to know him pretty well. He told me if the show was getting really bad NASCAR would come on the radio and sk their track guys to find 'Marcel'. 'Marcel' was Marcel Bebris.......IE we need a caution to mix things up. F1 is no different.....just add Wine and Cheese.

I feel the changing of the rules on the last lap was in a way to make up for ignoring rules on lap one. On lap one Hamilton advanced his position by missing a turn and going ahead of Max. NORMAL rules are if you give the position back all is good. Hamilton kept the advance and Stewards did not call him on it. So to make up for that miss......they did a 'Even Steven' on the last lap. Did F1 create drama for the sake of it....YES....it's not called 'The Circus' for no reason! Just IMHO only....thx In keeping with a model car forum....Senna Lotus!

F1 had a number of issues this year that ALMOST made me stop following after more years than I care to admit. The F1 got what they wanted....a movie like ending with tons of drama.....not racing.....drama, After I saw the PSA where Hamilton was crying in the back of his $30M yacht about rain forest.....F1 is a show...not a racing series.

When Model King restored this tooling I sent my mint original kit to China for them to repro. When Round2 wanted to reissue the kit with Bobby Coke decals they contacted me for info. I told them I would do the artwork needed to reproduce the decals. I added to the original sheet so the builder could make a number of different versions Bobby drove. Thx

Round2 has a clear trailer kit. BUT it is only big enough for a small sedan......made to hold the MPC Ford Mark IV race car. I do not think ANY rail would fit in it.

Dave got the production box for his new Ford ramp kit. No ETA due to supply chain issues.......but coming ASAP!!!! Thanks

I made a few laser cut kits. Only one was automotive. This was a conversion kit to turn Mixer into Yeller. AMT soon issued Yeller so no more need!!!!! I did a few HO model train kits. One was a diner.....

Neat, clean build! -
That one would be a tough one to ID. I may be a O scale motor.....and the issue there is like the early years of the auto.....there were 100's of model train makers that swapped out suppliers on a whim. Sorry no help here....

Also note......when Bel Decal paper was forced out of business I ordered 4 - 5 different brands of laser paper. One brand jammed so bad it damaged my printer to the point it is not useable any longer. I will not recommend a single brand as until you use it in your printer, you do not know if it will work. Getting a new paper to work cost me hundreds of dollars. Good luck
