  1. It could be a highly modified Patent Pending cab.....but I really doubt it. The mods would be as much as new tooling. Atlantis said there is NEW tooling coming. I think these guys are SERIOUS about model kits. I thought at first they'd do what they have been doing...running old tools. But I THANK Peter and Co for stepping up. It ain't easy, you'll not get rich....but boy is it fun!
  2. I wasn't saying the China issue had anything to do with Hobbico issues. You're right. I was just trying to shine a light on why it would be hard for Atlantis to buy and get the Tom Daniels tooling that is in China and Revell is not really able to use.....right now. BTW I have worked with people in China on hobby products and the PEOPLE are great and many very talented. It's the government that is the issue. Thanks
  3. Not knowing what happened between TD and Revell I'll not agree 100%. That said time tends to heal many wounds and Tom's son is handling much of the day to day stuff......some day licensing may come around again. I've had IP stolen and it does make you mad. PS: If you really want to know how China works.....book - The 100 year marathon.
  4. Tooling CUT in China is part owned by the China Govmt. Tooling cut outside but run in China is still owned 100% by the company.....and in theory can be moved out of China. BUT if you request to move it and Chinia does not want to.....it MAY arrive at it's new destination 'damaged'. This happened to a model railroad manufacture. In other words it's a mess. Revell can not run any TD stuff that is in China and selling it will be costly and filled with risk. I'd figure we will never see Rommel's, Circus Wagon, Paddy, and TJ Taxi again. IMHO only!!
  5. THANKS FOR THE INFO!!!!! (reminds me of the old RCHTA days!!) I'll get a couple of FnF Lightning F-150's
  6. TD Paddy Wagon is still at Revell. It was last run in China and was not in the lot in ILL. Now with Revell and TD split on unfriendly terms....maybe Atlantis will end up with it at some point.
  7. I can see it's different now...... The C Cab is not the TD Paddy Wagon or a variant of it.......it LOOKS more like the MPC Fire truck kit
  8. So a new C Cab??? Cool!!!
  9. The blue car with track nose looks like the Revell 29 Ford part....I used it on this build. Atlantis said they'd tool new parts???
  10. Well done! I like that kit....built both versions with Indycal decals.
  11. Cool! never thought of that!
  12. Very well done builds!!!! I too like green fantasy cars........
  13. Sorry...my fault....a reflection....chrome clean and perfect.
  14. First 'Idiocracy' comes true.......Now 'Demolition Man' comes true.....screen grab....
  15. Here it is!!!! TWO trees of retro glory!!! I have never had a mint Unreal, 2 junkers only. As stated really only two trees of parts (cut into 3 to fit box), instructions and decals. Very well molded in a Met Green with GREAT clean chrome. Colorful box, decals look great with Met Gold trim. Other Atlantis decals applied very well. What can I say....one more grail down......now for a Honest Engine and Laramie Stage Ghost and collection is complete! Thanks
  16. Got my Groovy and Unreal Friday.....very well done. To thank Atlantis I am buying multiples of both!
  17. I did a lot of model car related licensing from early 1980's to late 1990's. The very first one was with Goodyear @ $5 a year with a release contract. It's kinda like 'how much to cut down a tree' Thousands of answers as to how much licensing is for anything.
  18. During the hey day of the Pontiac Trans Am I was an officer in the SCCA club. The biggest money maker was the Pontiac license. How tough they are today????
  19. Looks great!
  20. This is a Zvezda 1/35 scale kit of a GAZ AAA which is a Ford Model AA under license. I decided to build it as a civilian vehicle and not a military as offered. The kit is decent, has a body made of 9 parts counting fenders. They go together OK if you take your time. I added 55 gal drums from Tamiya and other extra parts to make a rural delivery ASHLAND oil truck. ASHLAND used this type truck well into the late 1960's.....canvas covered low side beds.I made all the decals and used Tamiya white and red spray cans. Thanks for looking
  21. $50 for a curbside kit..........WOW...glad I have 5K kits on hand.
  22. Wonder if they got the SCCA license for 'Trans Am'??? That was the issue with AMT and Revell for years.
  23. One word......DELOREAN
  24. Very well done!!!! Those mods have been in my mind since I was a kid and built it.....now I don't have to!
