  1. Did you miss the announcement?????? LOL.....nice work really. But if I spent the time and money.....a kit will follow!!!
  2. I got the older Revell/Monogram 66 Hertz Mustang rent a racer kit for $14.99. I thought it was old stock but box side had been updated to RoG with call out for Revell paints and glue......so they must be running some of the older tools with a $24 MSRP. A good deal as you can't have to many Mustangs!!! I need to build this one....................
  3. If someone does not have one....find one!!!!! I bought mine 25 yeas ago at Big Lots for $10.....best hobby investment I ever made. I even have a back up unit I found at a yard sale for $3!!! You can still find a basic unit for less than the MSRP of a current model kit.
  4. VERY NICE work!!!!! I wish the reissue had made it out......and the alternate Firefighter version too!!
  5. Use a dehydrator to speed up drying and give a hard finish.
  6. I bought that kit from Jimmy the first time he set up a Toledo NLL meet. I cleaned up the little bit it needed then stopped, waiting on the decals that were not printed yet. (Jimmy sent them later) Stalled ever since. Yours looks great!!!
  7. VERY WELL DONE!!!! I like these 1/24 scale kits from the old Monogram. I have built a bunch of them, many in a '50's high school cars' series. Hope you don't mind but here is the same kit done as a TV car. thanks!
  8. Sold mine years ago. May get on of these.
  9. I like that!!! Model and 1/1!!
  10. Some really nice cars!!! Thanks for sharing. I lived in Charlotte for 30 years and we'd not have that many nice rides. Happy to see the Gremlin kept it's AMC power plant.....tiered of seeing 350 Chevy transplants. Nice to see the Mustang II too......I think are are starting to get some respect!! We bought a Mustang II Ghia last year.....a unrestored 77 that has been stored for 25 years....a real time capsule. SOLID car, no rust, never wrecked. Bought from original owner who got it for a wedding present. Thx
  11. JOHNATHAN JOHNATHAN JOHNATHAN.......... a very under rated film. James was great in it RIP
  12. Very nice work. I recall race announcers calling it 'Yardley MAC'. This kit is the only 1/12 Tamiya I missed
  13. Hope to attend. Thx
  14. That's where I knew Joe from. I sometimes Cosplay a Tyrell employee when we attend conventions. RIP
  15. Title of post is 'Last 100% Monogram kit.' So that limits it to something issued before 1986.
  16. The Revell Monogram merger happened in 1986 and tooling was merged at that time. So are we looking for the last kit designed and made by Monogram???? A kit that came out in 1989 would be a Revell-Monogram kit.......not a legacy Monogram kit. As the Monogram design team pretty much moved intact to the 'new' Revell-Monogram where do we draw the line???? Since the Revell IMSA Mustang kits were announced as Monogram kits but by the time they came out they were Revell branded. So the LAST all Monogram kit would be BEFORE the IMSA Mustang kits of 1986.
  17. I am going off memory here and after I took my night time meds!!!!! The first IMSA Ford kit was the Zakspeed Roush GTX racer. It came out around 1982. The 2nd IMSA Mustang kit from Monogram was the CTP Mustang / Probe kit. 1984?? Then in 1986 came the IMSA Mustang GTO kits. These were shown at the RCHTA show as Monogram kits but ended up labeled Revell. RM looked at doing the IMSA GTP Mustang/Probe kit but it never made it past the idea stage. Tamiya did do it in 1/24 R/C model and QuickSkins did a really nice resin kit.
  18. That is a real gray area!!!!!! The lead kit designer at Monogram before the merger was Bob Johnson. He then did the same job for RM. The first kit that I recall that was announced as a Monogram kit, designed by Bob, but showed up in a Revell box, was the 3 IMSA Roush Ford Mustangs. This was around 1986. I was lucky enough to know Bob and I asked him about the announced 1/24 scale but switched to 1/25 when they showed up as Revell. He said that being race cars he felt they would look OK. Besides, the tooling was cut and no going back! And when you compare these '1/25 IMSA Mustangs' to the Monogram GTX IMSA Mustang and they do not look out of place......so they are 1/24......to me anyway! The last Monogram design??? Hard to tell as the design team transferred from Monogram to Revell pretty seamlessly. Bob himself would have to make that call. The Monogram / Revell IMSA GTO Mustang
  19. Not to try and derail others.......... But my PENNGWEN line of decals offers 1/25 and 1/12 MM decals. Mine are not printed with a colored background. My whites are printed. My 1/25 version
  20. The body is pure generic, the front sheet metal is Chevy but far from stock. I have looked at the same project. I found the window area kinda stock but the body is channeled. It might be more work to convert it than build from scratch. I did convert one into a flat nose bus.........
  21. Very sorry to hear. I really feel late stage Alzheimers is a fate worse than death. My Dad's mom went through it.....Dad had to get locks on all doors to keep grandma from walking away in the middle of the night. I hope you can find a solution that works for your family.
  22. LOVE IT!!!!! There are so many vehicles from all the beach movies I want to build. The king of the beach movie vehicles is ZZR......how I wish they'd reissue it!!!!!
  23. This kit is listed as 1/8 scale.....Tamiya never did a F1 in 1/18. Entex did the Lotus and a McLaren F1 kit in 1/8 scale.
