  1. Being in the sport in some way or shape since the early 80's I am well aware of the current regs and the required RFID Chips mandated. BUT today you can still make changes to a chassis and as long as they pass inspection they are OK. HAAS had a chassis mod that made them so good until all others found out. In 2022 there will be NO MODS at all. SPEC racing only. Almost ZERO parts will transfer from 2021 to 2022 car. This all done as a cost saver......right.
  2. Way back when Atlantis first bought all this tooling I sent Pete a note that if he had the tooling for Unreal it would be a good one to run as it did not have vinyl tires, something he could not do at the time. I'd like to see both a chrome and a none chrome version.......I too plan on stripping one!
  3. Petty had many small changes to that STP scheme from 72 to 1977 when the use of the 1974 body ended. Some changes very small. .
  4. Good to see you give an opinion on the kit. I was a little gun shy to buy until I saw one or got someone like you give a opinion. A pillars look a little odd but not a game changer. Thanks
  5. Yep......Red Oak was looked on as a 'cheap' wood. Today it the less costly of all expensive wood!!!! I am note going for full on authentic resto.....but wanted decent wood body braces.
  6. I am in the very early stages of planning. I did go ahead and buy some Red Oak lumber that I will use like Henry did for internal body bracing. I figured that wood is not going down in price over the next year, double for good hardwoods!
  7. I'd buy a kit of the C8R......even a good curbside based off the slot car body like done in 1/32 scale.
  8. It was kinda his personality....he was somewhat that way in person at the zoo....I'd call it high energy!
  9. Met him and a lion cub (that I'd taken home if I could) at the Columbus Zoo back in the 90's. He and a helper drove a golf cart out into the public area with Jack holding the lion. What a great guy and allowing us that close was a joy. Dementia needs more resurch than this current issue.....I have seen a number of relative die from it....a slow horrible death sometimes lasting years. The biggest health crisis we have right now. RIP Jack
  10. Looks era correct to me!!!!
  11. NICE!!!! That build has the optional pointy nose even!
  12. Great project. Cutting old brittle bodies can come out bad!!!! Wish R2 could reissue the MPC J with pointed nose!
  13. Wonder if they 'De Ghost Busters' the 59?? They have two different tools of the kit so modifying one would be good.
  14. Well done!!!
  15. Me too...or a kit!! My Rella was made from a cake decoration. It is made from kit like styrene and was $2! It's kinda a tribute to Roth and Tom Daniel.
  16. I have the S&H box I bought direct from him. IIRC it was about $20 plus shipping. They are well done.......how many who knows but he sold them for years. He inspired me to make one......
  17. I've picked up a few of them.....funny how the kits do not have anything to do with the Disney rides they claim to be connected to (the original MPC Disney licensed versions)
  18. We will get it in AUG per Atlantis!!!!!! Groovy Grader the same month!
  19. You are right....T's are not in high demand........ But I am just starting a T 1/1 scale project and I see a small up tick in interest. Never know!
  20. Unreal Roller is at the top of my list!!!!!!
  21. When that version of the 49 Mercury came out I built it exactly like the box art....so I like it...but not that much. Maybe if he did nice prints I'd get one.
  22. Just about anything can be done. MUCH more info may help direct you. Indycals does custom printing that is very well done. But you must provide ready art. Are you looking for one logo, a copy of an entire sheet???
  23. Thanks for that....next time I am in Socal may go.....
  24. Happy to have it back!
