  1. When Monogram tooled these kits YEARS ago they were pushed a snap kits......much like big versions of the line of 1/32 snap trucks they had. Many parts still 'snap' but the fact much of that has deteriorated they became 'GLUE' kits. Engine still snaps together well!
  2. I am working on that kit myself right now. I have found that I needed to trim or remove many of the 'snap' pins or tabs as Revell has allowed the mold to wear and things will not snap....not an issue but not a kit a kid can just snap build. Good work so far...I like the green....used green for the KW I built.
  3. Now that you say that I think you are correct......that was all a while back and getting mix up in my mind.
  4. I'd love to see a California TD Vette.......but that kit was modified so many times it would be easier to tool a new kit. When I was working with Revell and asked about it they thought it was tooled into the 4 door Vette.....most of the CA Vette stuff tossed. Rommel's was retained by the new Revell of Germany.
  5. During my 25 years as a Sr Analyst for one of the biggest banks I did 'Due Diligence' for a number of much larger investment firm deals. In the end the deals ended being FANTASTIC or a dumpster fire. I'd like to think this will be FANTASTIC but only those on the inside know as R2 is a private co w/o any public reporting. BTW R2 landed a NEW Star Wars license deal for upgraded old kits and all new tooling. That takes cash.
  6. Was the announcement from Atlantis about the Round2 tooling they bought ever made??? It was said it was coming 4thQ 2020. Just wondering out loud!
  7. 'Hobby Lobby' thread has all details....
  8. Thanks for sharing!!! From day one after Atlantis bought the Monogram/Revell tooling I asked them for this kit.....Can't wait!
  9. Hope you are right.....but news story from the net posted above says different......go back to my OP and see this info came from Hobby Lobby marketing dept. Other than that rumor.....maybe....
  10. That kinda verifies my intel......unfortunately......I do think they will, maybe have to, bring out something to replace it.....it's part of their DNA!!
  11. Interesting........more a collector item to me than something I'd do.
  12. Needs to be saved it's so ugly........I'd own it....I love the unlobed!
  13. Back when you had to print the coupon....I'd print 2 or 3 before driving 2 hours. If I only needed one I'd give the other to someone in the kit area.....you would be amazed how many did not know of the 40% off. Even today when I hear someone talk about the high price of a kit I tell them to pull the coupon up on their phone.......yep...they never had heard of it!! Doing away WILL hurt overall sales......but how many of us go in there and just buy one kit with the 40% and only because of the coupon?? Sales of kits may slow......cloth, yarn, crafts, beads etc.......not so much IMHO Only!
  14. Even in rural WV we are getting a increase this year....added to a re-evaluation!
  15. My HL has all kits at 100% MSRP. AMT average MSRP is now $32 and Revell $30. So at my store the 40% was hard to beat.....that and NO local hobby shops at all.
  16. Per my son who has a buddy in management at Hobby Lobby the 40% coupon will end forever FEB 28. No real reason was given other than 'current market conditions' was given for the end of the 40% off. The retired banking analyst in me sees the $15 hour wages along with other rising cost and taxes made this happen. So get those models at 40% before March 1 folks!!
  17. OK...kinda cool...is it a tractor trailer set up or a 2 axle truck w/box??? There is a video on Youtube about 'Road Trains' of the future. The film was from the early 40's and it showed drawings of truck with a cab much like your model, many trailers with the same cross profile, all followed by a unit much like supplied.
  18. Hope they still love it when a dispute ends up in a withdrawal by ebay without their consent......(they did give consent in that agreement they did not read.)
  19. AGREE!!!!!!
  20. Welcome! Grew up in Whittier and La Palma. 1960 to 1970. A great time in SoCal! Still visit every year until 2020.....I'll be back.
  21. True.....and ebay MAY at some point block Paypal....but as they are not the booming site they were....I don't see them limiting payment methods. IMHO only again!
  22. ebay and Paypal for SELLERS has changed. Disclosure: I did NOT read the thousands of words in the new agreement....I have a life. BUT....in my opinion here is the what and why I have gotten from independent sites on the web. ebay, with it's guarantee of buyers getting ALL their money back when they do not like the item they bought. had to chase the money Paypal sent to sellers account. Now they want your bank account to 'deposit' your funds from selling items directly......very handy right? Also very handy for ebay when they need to refund a buyer.......the agreement gives them the power to WITHDRAW funds from your bank account even if you do not agree. I had 2500 feedback....almost all from selling. I will not sell on ebay any longer until this situation changes. IMHO ONLY!
