Anybody recognise these old resin bodies?
dimaxion replied to Simon's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Yes , these are TKM resins . Slush cast and considered crude by today's standards . I have a WIP and 3 Built Tom did Cast as kits . Quite allot of work , acceptable results . I would like to find a few more .. The Italeri '33 Caddy would be a poor choice for this . Stick with the shelf curbside . The Metal plate Chassis will support the mass of the casting . A Wire Wheeled all plastic underneath .. not so much . By 1039 , Caddy had shunned Wire Wheels . Thanx .. -
How is this done now on this site ?? Thanx ..

Any Info on the new '28 Dodge kit ?
dimaxion replied to Greg Myers's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
A Factory Stock '28 Dodge , I'll spend my hard earned dollars on .. Thanx .. -
The Dual 4's are from the AMY '56 Ford kit . It was an Option for '56 & '57 Both years . The '56 had "Sandcastle Quads" . Quite unique and efficient at that job of Fuel Air mixing . Expensive to produce used from '54 (?) to '56 on Y Blocks . I was privileged to have the experience to rebuild one .. successfully . Thanx ..

dimaxion replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Yes , The Replica and Miniatures of Maryland AMC 6 is a "pre-Smog" Engine . Pictures of these 1:1 are easily found through Google . Research this as the '68 MY and beyond had a "Warm Up Stove" . The Automatic was a Borg Warner Unit . Thanx .. -

A house full of Plastic & Die-Cast
dimaxion replied to Quicksilver's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Another member and I here have a mutual long time friend with a more nightmarish accumulation than this . He is now disabled and in a home . His collection sits in 2 houses . One he abandoned in 1990 while leaving 2 floors , a Basement and an Attic containing Model cars . His new home from 1990 is now sitting idle packed with a newer stash . We know the same fate is in the future concerning this situation barring disaster . God Bless . I have interest , not much money Thanx .. -
What do you do with a member here
dimaxion replied to Modelcollector's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've been a Forum Member since 2006 on a few dedicated to Model Cars . This one is the only place where trades have soured for me . The first one , I tried to warn this community about a bad trader . I held nothing back including how my mistake created a fiasco . I admitted my fault in the nightmare . Many members berated me for reporting and expecting the other party accountable . Some members agreed with me . This was resolved to a point . One of my trade partners did without . He did not get what he wanted . I made it right for him . I am out , lesson learned . A couple years later , a member defending me and I negotiate a trade . This dragged on and on . He Posted he wanted to trade off another interesting item I was seeking . I had something he wanted once again . We agreed to make a 2 for one . few years have passed now . I feel so stupid I did box these up . Lesson learned . My question is , should I have the audacity to inform a moderator will I still be a Bad Guy ? Since I am out only my time and troubles locating and packaging my end of the deal , I will avoid this . No , I will not divulge names as you know who you are .. Thanx .. -
